HEY REDSTATERS: CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF AIG SCANDAL, ETC.? What about the Not-So Recent Rasmussen Poll?

I know everyone is busy with so many things.      Our hands are full of the following:
  • The AIG Fiasco.
  • The Stimulus Packages.
  • The Budget Deficits.
  • Obama Gaffes.
  • Brown’s visit.
  • Hamas, Syria, Iran, Russia, etc.;
  • CA’s SC’s Gay Marriage
  • Tax Increases
  • Illegal Immigrants
  • MSM Attacks on the Pope …..  and so on.

Maybe it’s just me but I’ve noticed that no one seems paying any attention to this very irrelevant Rasmussen report last March 17:
Generic Congressional Ballot
Republicans Take Small Lead on Generic Congressional Ballot
If you must know, the current score is 41-39 in favor of the Rs.

This is the first time that the Republicans have taken the lead from the Democrats since 2006 Elections.

I just thought that some of you might get interested on this non-news story (’though it’s already 2 days old.)

Thanks for your precious time.   You may now go back to more important and pressing things.

I did see this, Rod, but I guess we are so used to

janis Thursday, March 19th at 7:38PM EDT (link)

being kicked like bad dogs that it’s hard to get excited. Or maybe we are so used to being disgusted and disappointed with our leadership that we know they will do something to screw it up. Like voting for the 90% punitive tax rate on the bonus thing.

But any news on progress is a good sign. And maybe it’s a needed reminder to all of us that we don’t have to lose forever.

Thanks, sis.

I’m just being silly. I was thinking that nobody’s interested about it.

Actually, I’m waiting for a diary that provides at least some analysis of the states and districts that the Rs are starting to gain after 2 months of Obama’s incompetence and non-leadership.

Great news; after today, Dems may slide even more

jonreagan Thursday, March 19th at 7:56PM EDT (link)

I hadn’t seen the poll, but it’s obviously encouraging. On the other hand, I watched some of the House proceedings today, and the chaos reminded me of some banana republic. It was sickening. The idea of the state passing tax legislation to confiscate virtually all of an individual’s income is frightening, regardless of the circumstances.

The good news, relative to the poll you cite, is that it looks like people may be paying attention. Tax evader Charlie Rangel went on CNBC this morning, to defend using tax legislation as a tool in class warfare. CNBC’s Erin Burnett and Mark Haines pounced, given the obvious hypocrisy:

I mean, you couldn’t make this stuff up. And amidst the chaos, our “leader” is preparing to go on the Jay Leno show tonight.

Obama On Leno

Hopefully it’s only a matter of time before the Obama baloon pops. I am still very angry with all the Americans that voted for him. Did it ever occur to the American people that Geitner after only 60 days in office is being pressured to resign and there are still 17 vacancies at the treasury dept? It seems clear that no credible competent person wants anything to do with the Obama administration. Our country is now in the hands of juvenile delinquents. And with all the fall out the man who would be king as his worshipers crowned him, is on ESPN and Jay Leno. Now. Who is out of touch?

He probably wont be going back on Leno after this...

That really made me want to punch him right in the side of his neck….and put some knuckle into it.

I can’t believe this guy got elected…..bizarro world for sure.

I suppose this answers Rush's question

scottbomb Thursday, March 19th at 11:12PM EDT (link)

He was wondering if Teleprompter would be there for the show. Appearently it took the day off.

Hoooo boy. Just imagine if GW had said such a thing. Something tells me this won’t be covered by the “mainstream” media.

And if Sarah Palin does run in 2012, Obama just gave her another commercial. I imagine she would have a stong opinion about Obama mocking children in the Special Olympics.

I agree. But I believe it’s about time for the Rs to take offense …. instead of defense.

I wonder if it will hold

For me, the ideal should be voting “PRESENT” or its equivalent. But the non-participation of the Rs on this exercise would mean so many things, especially to the dirty spinners in the media (and the WH.)

Having said that, I think that the split in the R votes will give them better leverage on the two main issues:

(i) protecting the government’s money by encouraging the TARP beneficiaries like AIG to be more “receptive” of public opinions on alleged “excesses” of the large financial firms;* and,

(ii) protecting the civilians and private sector (AIG) from the tyranny of the Government.

*I disagree with this but there’s no harm in being receptive of public opinions especially in times like this.

There's only one reason for any R to vote for this "tax"

Lammo Friday, March 20th at 5:13PM EDT (link)

I can see an argument that goes “I voted against the bill and I will vote for this in order to try to recover as many taxpayer dollars as I can”. While I can agree with the sentiment this is not the solution. My approach would be to introduce a line item by line item repeal of the stimulus bill loudly and publicly every day until the next election. The “tax” passed by the House is so obviously unconstitutional that it clearly violates the old playground rule that “two wrongs don’t make a right” (of course, three rights make a left).

Obama's image created by the liberal media

VanishingNYRep Friday, March 20th at 8:11AM EDT (link)

President Obama makes a stupid joke and everyone is shocked. Why? He had no record of leadership in either the Ill Legislature or the US Senate. He never ran anything. He was an attractive African-American who could act out a speach in front of the teleprompter. The Dem-libs and their partners-mouthpieces in the media used him as a means to an end - control of the Fed gov’t. He is incapable of making unprepared statements because his arrogance and knee-jerk liberal philosophy will come through.

Don’t worry. his handlers in the Dem-libs and media will not allow him to make any more unscripted appearances.

Good news here... discouraged RedStaters should read...

Thanks for the reminder, Rod. I saw this, but forgot about it in the shuffle of everything else you mentioned.

You're welcome, bro.

Just remember, we’re starting to gain ground on this.

And we will never stay as a minority party forever, like what the WH and the MSM are forcing us to believe.

Don't look behind the curtain

UpLateAgain Friday, March 20th at 9:55AM EDT (link)

While all the commotion was going on regarding the AIG Bailout Bonus debacle, few noticed that the Fed borrowed another 300 billion dollars (from itself?) and floated it into the economy by buying Treasurys. An attempt, perhaps, to instigate a little inflation to counter the current deflationary cycle…… as if all the massive spending wasn’t enough to fuel hyper- inflation down the road anyway.

I wonder what the poll numbers are going to be like once our economy starts to resemble the Weimar Republic.

Strap yourselves in, boys, I think we’re in for a Helluva ride!
