DDT: The Silent Killer…Only When It Was Gone

Because mosquitoes were almost nonexistent with the use of DDT in places like Africa, elimination of DDT brought mosquitoes back — in force. The 1972 ban of DDT in the U.S. did not help matters at all. Now, many less effective and more costly methods are used — netting, other chemicals, you name it. But from the “Malaria Clock” listed in the following paragraphs, one gets an idea of exactly how many deaths have occured, especially from malaria.

But who ever heard a book causing the death of millions? Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring was the driving force behind eliminating DDT throughout the world. Her fraudulent claims of bird egg thinning, and widespread declines in bird populations have all been thoroughly debunked by numerous studies.

Many need to read Junkscience.com’s 100 things you should know about DDT to fully understand DDT history. The Malaria Clock totals up malaria deaths of more than 90 million to date, with almost 15 billion cases where malaria has caused immense suffering and poverty.

Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) was first produced by Dr. Paul Mueller in 1939. He found that DDT quickly killed flies, walking sticks, potato beetles, aphids, and especially mosquitoes. After several unprecedented successes, including in 1943 when the U.S. Army used DDT on its soldiers to kill body, head, and crab lice, for his work with DDT Muller won the Nobel Prize in 1948.

Gas chromatography was universally used in pesticide analysis in the 1960s. Often, it failed to differentiate between DDT and other chemicals. DDT has been mistaken for other organochlorides routinely in the methods used about the same time Silent Spring came out.

Others have mistakenly claimed that some mosquitoes have become resistant to DDT, but forget about its repellency. The continued efficacy of DDT in Africa, India, Brazil, and Mexico — where 69% where all reported cases of malaria now occur — shows that repellency is very important in preventing indoor transmission of malaria.

Carson should have stuck around long enough to see how the mosquito population has drastically increased over the last 30 years.

Today, the evolving door of science is determining that some man-made chemicals are more toxic than thought. Thalidomide, used by some pregnant women to prevent morning sickness, was found to cause severe birth defects. Aspartame, an existing artificial sweetener, has been found to produce symptoms of MS in healthy individuals.

However, Alar (daminozide) used extensively in the 60-80’s, was sprayed on fruit (mainly apples) to regulate their growth and enhance their color. The EPA decided to ban Alar altogether because of carcinogenicity concerns. It turns out lab tests have shown over 5000 gallons per day of apple juice must be consumed before any tumors could develop, and drinking less that 100 gallons of water in one day could cause death.

Unfortunately, DDT has been put in the same category as the first two truly toxic materials. In frequently asked questions on DDT use for disease vector control, the World Health Organization (WHO) provides some very salient points for use of DDT. Senator Tom Coburn’s plea to the European Union on DDT is so well described in Environmentalism, Human Health, Africa. It also depicts how nicotine breathed in from common cigarettes is 100 times more toxic than DDT.

John Berlau (Research Fellow, Competitive Enterprise Institute) says, “Not a single study linking DDT exposure to human toxicity has ever been reported.”

In Paul Driessen’s column in Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, he writes about how DDT expert Dr. Gordon Edwards used to eat a spoonful of DDT whenever he gave a lecture about it.

Driessen also confirms how the EPA head William Ruckelshaus had never attended a single day’s session in seven months of EPA hearings on the use of DDT, and who admittedly had not even read the transcript, banned it for virtually all uses.

After seven months of testimony, EPA Administrative Law Judge Edmund Sweeney stated “DDT is not carcinogenic to man…The evidence in this proceeding supports the conclusion that there is a present need for the essential uses of DDT.”

What’s worse is there is a contingent of people who are OK with the loss of life in developing countries without DDT because of fears of world overpopulation. Shocking as it sounds many believe third-world populations are third class citizens anyway. They believe fewer numbers of them will only aid the perceived problem of world overpopulation. They are the ones who put differing values on life.

Excommunication by the Catholic Church

Because 23% of Americans actually claim to be Catholic, it should be made crystal clear as to what excommunication actually is. Some look at excommunication as a thorny punishment from the Catholic Church. It actually is a medicinal penalty that is compulsory to help the sinner repent and turn back to God.

The Church fervently hopes that the former Catholic changes their ways, and is in “communion” with the rest of the Church. Unfortunately, this election showed a true differentiation.

The mind boggling part was that fully 54% of American Catholics during the last presidential election voted for the party who espoused abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, and same-sex marriage. Cloning in this administration seems a likely probability as can be seen in New Stem Cell Research Bill Could Promote Human Cloning .

The above is all of the five “non-negotiables” that exist for any Catholic. Any “non-negotiable” is an intrinsic evil every time—that is, belonging to an act that is essential or inherent. No exceptions exist.

For the Democrat party, one’s vote was for a new heath care system that would have abortions take place as health care. Their vote included embryonic stem cell research (ESCR)–but not adult stem cell research (ASCR). ESCR has produced tumors, and kill a young human being every time research is done.

There was only one candidate who wanted to use amniotic, umbilical, and “pluripotent” stem cells—all those not involving the killing of a young person. And she was only a vice-presidential option.

Issues are never equal, so priorities exist. Abortion and euthanasia are at the very top of the priority list for all issues—no issue is higher. Therefore, any Catholic voting for the candidate endorsing most (or all, in this case) is de facto excommunicated by their own actions from the Catholic Church.

Some alleged Catholics will become obstinate, agitated at the Church, and more obtuse in their thinking. Other Catholics will understand this is a method the Church uses to pull them back into the Faith. They will understand this, and start believing what a true Catholic actually believes.

For the last 100 years every pope has condemned socialism, which seems to be rearing its head in this administration. The main reason is socialism ultimately denies the central truth of Catholicism that man needs God. Per the five Catholic “non-negotiables”, no Catholic can support this administration no matter how Catholic-friendly it may sound.

Excommunication exists for bringing lapsed Catholics back into the faith. But in 1996, Bishop Bruskewitz forbid Catholics of the Diocese of Lincoln (Nebraska) from membership in 12 dissident groups: Planned Parenthood, Society of Saint Pius X, Hemlock Society, Call to Action, Call to Action Nebraska, Saint Michael the Archangel Chapel, Freemasons, Job’s Daughters, DeMolay, Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls, and Catholics for a Free Choice.

“Contumacious persistence in such membership for one month following the interdict on part of any such Catholics will by that very fact cause them to be excommunicated,” said the order. And when Catholics would not comply for one month, they were automatically excommunicated. The Vatican would not rescind the excommunication after an appeal to do so.

Even Pope Benedict has discussed excommunication for those espousing abortion on his flight to Brazil on 5/9/07. A reporter broke the ice by asking him if he supported the excommunication of Mexican legislators who had voted to legalize abortion. The Pope replied, “Yes, this excommunication was not something arbitrary, but is foreseen by Canon Law…[CCL 915].

Catholics can be all-encompassing, but 46% in the last election showed where the Faith truly was. The bishops that stood up for the Faith should be truly exonerated. For them, automatic excommunication was not an option.

Imagine the surprise of half of the alleged Catholics in the US when they realize they have been automatically excommunicated, because they do not believe as the Church does.

So exactly what religion are they?

The Pill Responsible for the Death of Humanity?

For years, gays have been looking for a gene that would legitimately give them the right to say nature has turned them into the opposite sex. As a result, they believe same-sex marriage should be a natural thing. To gays, same-sex marriage should be something beautiful, natural, and part of God’s big plan. But the reasons may be anything but natural.

A few years ago, right after the sexual revolution of the 1960’s, a large number of chemical ‘cocktails’ [Chemical Cocktail in Consumer Products Destroys Male Fertility] that inhibit the function of the male hormone testosterone, was found in United Kingdom rivers.

Sharpe (from Chemical Cocktail) says a specific combination of chemicals is likely the culprit for the condition known as Testicular Dysgenesis Syndrome (TDS). TDS represents a number of disorders of the male productive system. The more common ones include reduced sperms counts, malformed penis and testicular cancer.

The female sex hormones (estrogens), as well as many estrogen-mimicking chemicals, are leading to the ‘feminization’ of male fish, which is documented in the below link. Exposed fish become ‘feminized’ producing a protein found in females.

Singing starlings and why thousands of babies who should have been boys wound up as girls” is Geoffrey Lean’s dissertation of some of the unheeded warning signs. In the 1970’s there were only female gulls nesting together all over the US. In the 1980’s researchers in Florida detected that the male alligators seemed to have strangely tiny penises, and had developed female hormone patterns. In that same water, they found turtles that had developed into hermaphrodites—having both female and male reproductive organs.

Lean also found that even after repeated studies in England, one third of the male roach in rivers and streams across the country had started producing eggs, coming from female sex organs.

It finally dawned on some humans that estrogen may be the culprit. In England, almost one third of the drinking water comes from rivers, some of which is directly downstream of sewage outlets. From CBC News - Montreal - Estrogen levels skyrocket in river around Montreal (Canada). Sebastien Sauvé describes how estrogen levels in the water downstream of major population zones are “about 100x more than the level known to have significant endocrine-disrupting effects”.

Eventually, the UK had the courage to label the “pill” as a pollutant. Unfortunately, the FDA and EPA have not done so yet.

The United States Geological Survey provided the first nationwide study (2006) of estrogens as a water pollutant. They found a huge upsurge in the number of male fish growing female reproductive organs. When they did a survey of bass in the Potomac River, it showed almost 100% of the smallmouth bass were ‘feminized’, and actually had eggs in their testes.

But no corporate polluter could be found. Then it was realized human birth control pills, morning after pills, and abortion pills all contained large amounts of estrogen. With health authorities estimating that 100 million women worldwide take some form of hormonal contraceptive, it was realized any excess estrogen would be present in women’s urine. Almost always, that estrogen is passed through all sewage treatment systems without removal by existing pollution abatement techniques.

Evidently, the action of an endocrine disruptor can “feminize” male children even in the womb. Elizabeth Green (from Chemical Cocktail) highly disputes government assurances that current exposures are too low for any mutations to take place. It seems as if regulators never look at the additive actions of these hormone disrupting chemicals (i.e., estrogen) with other pollutants.

But from unsuspecting researchers who know what girl/boy ratios in specific countries should be, there were unsettling results. They calculated 250,000 baby girls should have been born baby boys. This was deduced for only the US and Japan alone. The link

Study Links Water Pollution from Contraceptives, Chemicals with confirms these ‘gender-bender’ chemicals may have deleterious effects on more than just fish.

Interestingly, Geoffrey Lean found that cities exposed to high levels of gender-bender chemicals from Russia to North America have given birth to twice as many girls as boys.

Shockingly, some radical Greens are actually honest enough to admit there’s a problem. But to paraphrase Fox Mulder (X-Files), “they will be marginalized by the environmental-industrial-entertainment complex”.

Bottom line per Lean, studies in more than 20 countries have shown that average male sperm counts have dropped during the last 50 years from 150 million per milliliter to 66 million. That technically means that men are only half as fertile as hamsters. And average male sperm counts continue to plunge 2% per year. Within a few decades, the average man will be unable to father children.

We have been given, and allowed to understand, the technology to know what is happening. Populations will begin to drop precipitously. Many males in the near future will be unable to copulate for offspring production. The gay population will increase within the existing population, and will claim they were born that way. The human species will begin its descent into nonexistence.

Back on 2/18/08, it was positively confirmed by Dr. Karen Kidd that estrogen from the ‘pill’ in water has horribly altered the procreative ability of fish [Saskatchewan Prolife Association, Regina, Saskatchewan Natural ...]. If you take all the data that has been learned to date about estrogen and synthetic estrogens, it’s almost impossible not to know the human population has been, and will be, affected in likely the same way.

The scary part is when Marcia Herman-Giddens (University of North Carolina/ School of Public Health) says, “It’s virtually impossible to study. There’s no place to find an unexposed population”.

The recurring question is: Does man destroy humanity by his own machination?

New Definition of Terrorism Means More Deaths

First, they closed Abu Ghraib (Iraq) in 8/06. Then they decided to “Mirandize” any terrorist prisoners. Then they decided that because of the Abu Ghraib and like scandals, many of the terrorist prisoners should be released. Then they decided that every terrorist prisoner should be afforded all those rights that American citizens now get if they’re apprehended.

Some believe we most likely will never have any terrorist problems again…

According to the AP in http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_prosecuting_terror, the % of terrorism cases that federal prosecutors have declined to pursue has recently grown from 31 to 73%. Many terrorists go free because the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) claims they don’t have enough evidence to convict, and we are violating their civil rights. They seem to forget it was these terrorists responsible for the 3000 deaths on 9/11.

AP reports that almost 6000 of almost 8900 terrorism cases between 2004 and 2008 were closed with no action. According to the data, the cases brought by investigators were often based on weak or insufficient admissible evidence, lacked criminal intent, or did not constitute a criminal offense.

What is considered admissible in a foreign country? How does one know if a terrorist is simply constructing a bomb, or something else? What if a suspected terrorist simply has blood on his sword, but is not caught in any act of slaughter?

Firsthand information from troops in Baghdad revealed during the worst fighting by terrorists right after the fall of Hussein, troops were asked to risk their lives—again. They were forced to bus suspected terrorists out of Abu Ghraib, and let them out free on the populace.

So many forget when Bush stated that after 9/11, that if you weren’t against all terrorist activities, you were with them. Terrorist activities such as physical torture, hacking someone to death with swords, forcing a detainee to utter false words on television then slitting his neck, and actively pursuing the attainment of weapons of mass destruction for multiple kills, did not seem to occur at Abu Ghraib.

Sure, atrocities such as physical embarrassment occurred at some prisons for terrorists, and that should be halted. But terrorists are NOT American citizens. They do NOT have American rights. They will kill to achieve their objectives. They do NOT have “Miranda” rights. If they’re involved with terrorists in any way, they likely are terrorists.

It can be deduced that at least 50% of the terrorists that have been loosed on the general populace will be out there again—killing when it suits their purpose. That means many American troops, as well as Iraqis, have already died due to votes for Democrats–in power, and dictating all legislation. They control how many terrorists are circulating in the population, and yes, how many more American soldiers will die because of incredibly poor decisions by the current administration.

The author honors all those soldiers who have died and been injured by terrorist actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. America has seen no further terrorist-committed deaths on American soil since 9/11, and the blood of those American soldiers will always be remembered.

Terrorists know there are really no rules for terrorists, as long as they get what they want. Some citizens wanted change this last election. Well they got it. For some of them, their child, wife, or husband won’t be coming home for dinner anymore…

Carbon Dioxide Turns Out To Be a Savior

Thought to be the demonic cause of anthropogenic global warming, CO2 has literally been taking all the heat lately. With CO2 concentrations pushing the 400 ppm range as of late, manmade global warmers believe they have the perfect scapegoat for dreaded global warming. If they’re wrong, then the earth won’t fry, there won’t be incredulous risings of the sea and torrential floods, and life on earth will not come to a screeching halt.

But they refuse to believe that CO2 has fallen and risen many times in the past. From ice core samples, it was determined the Late Ordovician Period of the Paleozoic Era was also an Ice Age, while at the same time CO2 concentrations then were nearly 12 times higher (4400 ppm) than today. The Ordovician Period was the 6th of seven periods in the Paleozoic Era. The 7th period was the Cambrian

Even in the Cambrian Period of the Paleozoic Era, CO2 was found to be ~7000 ppm (18x higher than today). No anthropogenic global warming was reported. And global warming that did take place went the way of natural sun perturbations, without any human interference. There has been some global warming on several of the planets that have been measurable, but no CO2 producers were caught emitting CO2.

But as CO2 levels have increased in very recent times, so has agricultural productivity and yield. In fact, the world now produces more food on less land than ever before. This can be seen directly from graphs on the USDA Economic Research Service [The 20th Century Transformation of U.S. Agriculture and Farm Policy].

National Geographic specifically highlights this in other countries around the world [Cheap Food — National Geographic Magazine]. General food security for the world is reiterated in Green Revolution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

With CO2, chlorophyll, and sunlight all plants and crops create photosynthesis, or make “plant food”. Quite simply, the more CO2 that exists, the easier the photosynthesis reaction can take place, and the more crops and vegetation grows and produces.

Climate Depot [Rising CO2 a Boon for Biosphere – Earth in 'CO2 Famine' – Cutting ... explains just how CO2 is the best thing the earth could’ve hoped for. Fittingly wheat growers, [U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works :: Minority Page] have decided to reverse course on their cap-and-trade support, mainly because of the beneficial affects of CO2.

In fact, it has been determined in Climate myths: Ice cores show CO2 increases lag behind temperature by Noel Sheppard, the total falsehood of claiming temperatures are the result of increasing CO2 concentration. His facts have been proven many times concerning the CO2 increases that existed, which always followed a high temperature. It sometimes lagged temperature by as much as 800 years. But the temperature increase never follows a CO2 increase.

Joe D’Aleo of ICECAP explains how the CO2 has been totally uncorrelated with temperature over the last decade. This is true when the oceans likely play a key role emitting CO2 when they warm as carbonated beverages lose carbonation when they warm, but absorb it when they cool.

It need not be discussed how solar activity always changes in 11 year cycles, or how UV radiation increases much more than brightness which causes increased ozone which directly affects climate, or how sunspots affect cosmic ray production which directly affects cloud formation which directly affects climate.

It also should not be discussed how the sun is a variable star by 0.5%, that goes through cycles sometimes more than 100 years, that the oceans go through multidecadal cycles every 60-70 years which directly affect natural variations in Arctic and Antarctic ice cover, hurricanes, and thus overall weather.

It seems like the Intelligent Designer had all those affects in mind when He made CO2 necessary for plant life, which is necessary for animal life, which is necessary for human life. What an intricate biosystem. And some believe this happened by chance?

Kennedy Had Been Excommunicated Years Ago

The Catholic sitting next to you in Church could be a phony. If they proceed to receive communion they may be calling sacrilege and eternal damnation on their soul. One should know no one is capable of judging what someone’s eternal life may be. But with Senator Kennedy and his full Catholic funeral upon his recent death, one has to wonder.

Kennedy’s urgent push to pass legislation for abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, and same sex-marriage demonstrated his utter contempt for four of five “non-negotiables”. Those are, in Catholic doctrine and teaching, intrinsic evils in every case. There are no exceptions.

On his 5/9/07 flight to Brazil, the Pope was talking directly about “latae sententiae” (“automatic excommunication”). A reporter broke the ice by asking him if he supported the excommunication of Mexican legislators who had voted to legalize abortion. The Pope replied, “Yes, this excommunication was not something arbitrary, but is foreseen by Canon Law [CL 915]” He was emphatic, and continued to insist that such actions involved excommunication.

Benedict made “automatic excommunication” crystal clear. This occurs without formal declaration if there is an obstinate persistence in manifest grave sin. Abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, and same-sex marriage are four of those intrinsically evil deeds classified as grave. The excommunication is self inflicted.

Word from the Vatican in 2004, was “All pro-choice Catholic politicians who publicly call themselves Catholic yet who blatantly violate Canon Law by continuing to profess heresy, and receive Holy Communion, must publicly reject their abortion advocacy for the sake of their own souls, and the others they have scandalized. If not, then these people will have been excommunicated.”

Human Life International president Father Thomas Euteneuer said “Every indication of Senator Kennedy’s career, every public appearance, every sound bite showed an acerbic, devisive and partisan political hack for whom party politics were much more infallible than Church doctrines. He stated it was up to God to judge his soul, but we must judge his actions that did not agree with Catholic teaching.

Excommunication is the removal of someone in an organization. In this case, it’s an entire religion. Any organization, including any religion, has rules to live by. Would any organization continue to keep you as a member if you continually acted against their most precious values? Can an avowed racist against Blacks be a member of the NAACP?

Shockingly, this errantly claiming of being a Catholic in good standing may have been the tip of the iceberg.

Doug Patton, whose column in GOPUSA [Let Us Not Confuse Longevity With Statesmanship], brings back one of Kennedy’s most disreputable moments. What many consider treasonous occurred during the Cold War in 1983.

Kennedy sent word to Premier Yuri Andropov offering his help in undermining the Reagan Administration in its dealings with the USSR, in exchange for Andropov’s help in defeating Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. But we all have a short memory and few remember that.

What does one think of a US senator offering to help our sworn enemy in exchange for propaganda to win an election? Of course, a true Catholic would likely not stoop to such a move much less favor any intrinsic evil.

One has to wonder how any previous heinous acts can be considered Catholic just because a supposed “Catholic” performed the evil. How could Notre Dame invite and honor someone who is so pro-abortion? Atrocities associated with the Inquisitions, the Crusades, priestly pedophilia, and errant “Catholic” politicians have plagued Catholics for years.

This violence was committed by someone who called themselves Catholic. Does that mean a purported Methodist who is involved with killing someone, condemns the whole Methodist religion as murderers?

As Father Euteneuer states, we need to pray for the salvation of heretical Catholics like Kennedy. But we don’t have to praise him, let alone eulogize him with the full honors and reverence of a civic Catholic funeral. He needed to be sent to the afterlife with a private funeral and prayers for his immortal soul.

What Kennedy’s outcome for the thousands of unborn baby’s deaths he was responsible for will be unknown until our death. We are told that Kennedy was able to confess his sins to a priest before he died. If he asked forgiveness for all those deaths, and expressed feelings of remorse and wanting to make things right before he died, his soul is likely saved.

Unfortunately, nobody got that impression about his last wish…

What Does CERN Have To Do With God?

An unknown author wrote: “Science and religion are not at odds. Science is simply too young to understand.” It turns out that after all these years, CERN is about to prove that statement with the creation of antimatter. It is about to prove that suddenly, there was light, that matter from nothing had been created, that God was directly involved with the manufacture of the “Big Bang”, and that pure energy might be the father of creation.

CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), is underground in both Germany and Switzerland. It has a 17 mile stretch of superconducting magnets that will accelerate material to 99.999999% of the speed of light. The resultant crash of matter will produce antimatter. The Higgs-Bosun– commonly referred to as the “God particle”–seems to be what they’re really after.

The collider was built to accelerate protons to energies of seven trillion electron volts and smash them together in search of particles that existed earlier than the first trillionth of a second of time. In the “Big Bang” there was only energy. Now, we know there are trillions of particles, and they have measurable mass.

If one looks carefully, everything that we know was produced with an opposite: heaven and hell, light and dark, good and evil, etc., etc. Actually, science claims the same thing as religion. The “Big Bang” created everything in the universe with an opposite.

It is a fact of nature that everything has an opposite. Protons have electrons. Antimatter is yin to matter’s yang. If matter comes in contact with antimatter at any time, the result is instant destruction. Physicists call it total annihilation, with the production of pure light.

Antimatter was readily apparent when created at CERN (Geneva) in 1995, and later on at Fermilab in 1997. CERN came on line briefly on 9/10/08 It was scheduled to become fully operational by late 2009, but operational difficulties may have pushed that to 2010.

Some physicists have waited 15 years for CERN to come up to speed, literally. They have already sunk $9 billion dollars into CERN, but this Large Hadron Collider has yet to collide any particles at all—yet.  What do they know, or what do they think they might find out?

If the Higgs bosun exists, it is almost certain that the CERN will produce and identify it. “The LHC [CERN] will increase the energy at which we can study particle interactions, by a factor of four,” Stephen Hawking said. “According to present thinking, this should be enough to discover the Higgs particle, the particle that gives mass to all the other particles.”

Nobel Prize winning physicist [From Leon Lederman, The God Particle] wrote the book “The God Particle” 15 years ago, and said: “This boson is so central to the state of physics today, so crucial to our final understanding of the structure of matter, yet so elusive, that I have given it a nickname: the God Particle.”

The interesting part is that CERN, when up to full speed in 2010, is likely to produce the Higgs-Bosun. It will essentially prove that matter can be created from nothing, and that Genesis and the Big Bang can be explained by the fact that in the beginning there was an enormous source of energy. In this case, science and religion would support the same truth—pure energy initiated all of creation.

Those lacking in knowledge will insist that this can’t happen because antimatter doesn’t exist, and can’t possibly be made. They overlook the medical community where antimatter is created by the decay of radioactive material, which is injected into a patient to perform Positron Emission Tomography.

This PET scan of the brain, where a positron produced by the decay quickly finds an electron and annihilates into two gamma rays. These gamma rays would move in opposite directions, and by recording their origin points an image is produced.

In the sun, solar flares accelerate already fast-moving particles, which collide with slower articles in the atmosphere, producing antimatter. Gamma rays are routinely examined, which are emitted by antimatter annihilation as observed by NASA’s RHESSI spacecraft.

Why would thousands of scientists, for so long, wait for the cusp of revelation about a never-before-seen particle? If it is seen, and Genesis is proved, and many concede that a god does exist, what is their next step? The following questions, and answers, may be too volatile for many.

One thing for sure, production of a Higgs-bosun will not be a boring event.

Answer for a Missile-Free World

It is a fact that any nuclear detonation would result in many non-combatant deaths. It could be used as a deterrent threat against civilian populations rather than a known military target. All destruction and lingering radiation violates any representation of a “just war”. The answer is so simple that few have realized it gives it gives everything one should want. Archbishop Edwin F. O’Brien  [OSV | Our Sunday Visitor August 23, 2009 | No nukes]  likely knows.

O’Brien realizes if all nuclear missiles are eliminated, mutual destruction becomes a non-issue. Residual radiation, prolonged death, possibility of a second or third response, terrorist or rogue states using stolen technology–everything becomes a thing of the past.

The US currently has the technology to shoot down a missile fired anywhere on the earth, and has the ability to hit a spot on the proverbial bullet with a bullet. The Navy has been trying to keep pace with missile defense by having 73 Aegis ships around the world armed with missile defense capabilities [North Korea, China, U.S., Japan: Missiles, Missile Defense, Naval ...].  They’re mobile, they’re more numerous than ground-based missiles, but have a particular weakness that ground-based missiles don’t have.

The US also has an airborne laser system (ABL). Even though the ABL is considered highly advanced, it is far from science fiction. In actuality the ABL has a proven history of continuous testing achievement. Later this year it will to complete a lethal shoot down of a missile during the boost phase (immediate after launch).

The ABL is also cost effective. As few as seven ABL’s could provide a highly mobile and stunningly high tech defense against missile attack. Even with the cutting edge technology that it employs, the annual cost of the ABL is comparable with other large military jets (i.e., AWACS and B-1).

Incredibly no one is killed or injured with the shoot-down of a missile by either method.  Any weapon of mass destruction—nuclear, gas, or toxin–can be destroyed before it reaches its destination. We will have the delivering address from the exact trajectory, however. It is known that ~30 countries have missile systems that can be used for any desired purpose.

Other nation states, rogue states, and potential terrorist attackers would know that America can shoot down any missile threat at will. No people dead. No one held hostage.

No one will want to spend millions, or billions, on any kind of system that can be blotted from the sky long before it reaches its target destination.

Countries have already asked for assistance from the US for some sort of missile shield. Those countries include Poland, the Czech Republic, Israel, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Japan, and a number of others.

After a successful destruction of a launched missile, countries will likely pay for US technology without having to pay billions for a self-devised system that may not work at all.

According to the Global Security Newswire, the US allegedly has a backlog of 4200 nuclear warheads slated for dismantlement. Include any warheads scheduled for dismantling by the Obama administration, and that job will take a minimum of 15 years. Without a clear price tag, this project could take billions to complete once started.

Already in Defense Secretary Robert Gates’ proposed 2010 budget, there are plans for the 44 interceptors in Alaska and California to be reduced to 30 [North Korea's Nuclear Program]. That includes $1.2 billion worth of cuts in missile defense in just 2010. The ABL system is not even on the expenditure radar screen for the current administration.

If the current administration realizes that the present systems will work better than expected, then sharing this technology could eliminate the possibility of missile attack by anyone, anytime.

Trying to determine why a country would not want a “missile shield” against any marauding nation, that no person would be injured or killed, that defense expenditures would likely decrease, that any missiles would likely be sent to the dustbin of history, that more humans could eat more food with the money disappearing for “nukes”, that man would take the next step towards a missile-free world, that the clock ticking towards nuclear annihilation would be destroyed—must be too much to fathom for the present administration.

As Pope Benedict XVI said about governments that count on nuclear weapons for national security, “One can state that this point of view is not only baneful but completely fallacious.  In a nuclear war, there would be no victors, only victims.”

Fr. O’Brien’s dreams could become a reality. Unfortunately a slight majority actually voted for rule by Obama. This sounds exactly like the answer to nuclear Armageddon, but it can’t wait another twenty years.

Non-Christians in a Christian Nation

Lately, it seems many Americans despise any Christianity in America. But the proof is overwhelming about our Christian heritage. There seems to be no other country rooted in Christianity. But our president, at a recent press conference in Turkey, flatly stated Americans “do not consider ourselves a Christian nation…” The pertinent question is when did America stop being a Christian nation?

Recently on the floor of the House, Republican Randy Forbes (Va) on the Jennifer Kennedy video blog (Coral Ridge Ministries: Dr. D. James Kennedy) listed the American presidents who made it crystal clear and thought that Bible and Judeo-Christian principles were so important in this nation. He included George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, William McKinley, Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Herbert Hoover, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan. H e didn’t even include George Bush, who simply said his hero was Jesus Christ. Documentation from each one proves they knew America was Christian.

Fifty-two of the 55 Founders of the Constitution were members of established orthodox churches, and 26 had seminary degrees. Despite how anti-Christian our oldest college (Harvard University) in the US is now, it’s easily forgotten it was named after the Reverend John Harvard to train ministers of the gospel. Nine more of the oldest universities were started by Christians to spread the word of Christ [The Gates of Hell Shall Not Prevail: Kennedy and Newcombe, p.127].

John Adams, our 6th president, stated “The highest glory of the American Revolution was…the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.” [Verna M. Hall/ The Christian History of the Constitution of the United States (p. 372)]. The US Supreme Court in 1892 declared “this is a Christian nation”.

Larry Witham (Washington Times) in 1931 stated the SC noted the US was a Christian nation. In 1947, writing to Pope Pius XII, President Truman said flatly, “This is a Christian nation.” [‘Christian Nation’ Now Fighting Words/ Larry Witham/ Washington Times/ 11/23/92].

The so-called Establishment Clause in the Constitution clearly prohibited the creation of a national church, but it did not prohibit a state church. At the time of the American Revolution, nine of thirteen colonies had state churches. By the Constitutional Convention (1787), there were only five states with a state church. The last state church (Massachusetts) ceased in 1833.

Obviously, the Constitution never prohibited a state church, even though it’s probably good we don’t have one today. But James Madison, original Constitution framer, served on the committee that recommended the Congressional Chaplain System [Robert Cord/ Separation of Church and State: Historical Fact and Current Fiction, p. 23]. A wall in the Constitution between church and state would have made that unconstitutional.

Another illustration of the Founders attitude on church and state was that they repeatedly called for national days of fasting, prayer, and thanksgiving. There were no less than 16 days called during the Revolutionary War alone. It seems the national holiday of Thanksgiving was a direct result.

It’s obvious that the Founders, who wrote the Constitution, understood it far differently than the interpretation it has received over the last few years. Do we in the twentieth century know better what this law means than those who actually passed it?

A very important document in our history passed by that same first Congress was the Northwest Ordinance. One of the principle founding documents in our history, along with the Articles of Confederation, the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution, it gave the laws for the establishment of the Northwest Territory [The Gates of Hell Shall Not Prevail: Kennedy and Newcombe , p.141].

Later on, Congress said something very significant. They specifically said that no state seeking admission to the United States should have anything in its constitution that would be opposed to the language of the Northwest Ordinance. They state, “Religion, morality, and knowledge being essential to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.”[The Battle for Religious Liberty, David C. Cook, 1982, p.81].

It should be emphasized that schools were stated to be established to teach Religion, which is the first word in that quote.

So many believe in Justice Hugo Black’s incorrect interpretation of church-state separation from one letter Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptist Association 50 years ago. The average person today probably thinks that the Constitution teaches the separation of church and state. This misinterpretation of the 1st Amendment effectively turned the 1st against religion, instead of protecting religion as it was designed.

If Christianity is that distasteful to some, it might be easier if one lived with non-Christian nations such as the Russians, Albanians, Iranians, Saudi Arabians, or the Chinese. Of course many are still wondering about the answer to “When did America stop being a Christian nation?”

Pedophilia Only a Catholic Sin?

Shockingly, AP breaks out of their typical liberal mold and reports Insurance companies shed light on extent of sex abuse in Protestant churches, that sexual abuse of minors has been rampant. But in their statement, they indirectly say members of the Catholic Church are not the majority abusers.

AP discusses the raw numbers from three companies that insure the majority of protestant churches in America (Church Mutual, Guide One, and Brotherhood Mutual), and typically receive 260 reports/yr of people under 18 being sexually abused. Compare that with ~228 credible accusations/yr against Catholic clerics since 1950 (documented abuse records).

Together with that information, it is known that the Catholic Church greatly outnumbers any specific protestant denomination, and the data for Protestant churches is available only for the last seven years. Ever since the first sexual abuse cases had been reported, Catholics have had requirements: 1) police background check done on all volunteers–including priests, 2) a second person be present at all religious functions, and 3) all personnel involved with minors must take routine checks with “Protecting God’s Children”.

Without a doubt, sexual abuse of a minor is one of the most despicable crimes and sins that man can perpetrate. But predators seem to thrive in an atmosphere where the base congregation is one of the most trusted organizations that exist.

Philip Jenkins, in his 1996 book Pedophiles and Priests, [http://www.post-gazette.com/forum/comm/20020303edjenk03p6.asp], looked at the problem objectively and dispassionately. Jenkins (who is not Catholic) found that true pedophilia is extremely rare, and perhaps more common among Protestant clergy, and is even more common among married laymen.

He found that in most sexual abuse cases (under the age of consent), the behavior is actually a variety of homosexuality. This sexual attraction—with very young men that combine the charm of boyishness with sexual maturity—is actually called ephebophilia. Pedophilia is really a psychiatric term meaning sexual interest in children below the age of puberty.

Even a book review by William A. Donahue [Review: Pedophiles and Priests] reveals how accurate Jenkins in his observations over the years. Deal Hudson makes 10 valid points about priestly pedophilia http://catholiceducation.org/articles/facts/fm0011.html no one should overlook.

True pedophilia (Leon Podles/ Clergy Sexual Misconduct: Just a Catholic Problem?) occurs most often within families. Celibacy removes most Catholic priests from those types of temptations, and clergy in churches that do not require celibacy have the same (if not worse) problems.

But it has been a media target for any child abuse. More so because many enjoy ‘shooting down’ something they believe to be “holier than thou”. But the Episcopal Church has a comparable problem, and some of the worst abuse cases have been in fundamentalist and Pentecostal churches [EthicsDaily.com Tracks Clergy Sex Abuse in the Southern Baptist ...].

Up until the AP report, comprehensive studies were only done on the Catholic Church. The rate for school teachers, residential home-counselors, social workers, or even scoutmasters, never existed because they had no method of accounting for sexual abuse. But the recent AP investigation found more than 2,500 cases over five years in which educators were punished for actions from bizarre to sadistic. (Jacoby/Townhall) rightly states the same sort of outcry that came with Catholic sexual abuse has not existed with public school teachers.

It seems obvious that the legit but skewed condemnation of the Catholic Church is likely coming from the devil, himself. It’s only logical his first and sometimes only, victim would be the church with the correct answers.

The problem of sexual abuse seems much bigger than the public will admit. And abuse from church organizations seems to be the minority. Reported sexual abuse seems only the tip of the iceberg. As despicable as Catholic abuse is, it is no where near just a Catholic problem. And finally, it seems as though the public has the wrong impression of who’s responsible for accusations of ephebophilia.

And they don’t seem to be able to know the differences in phobias, either.
