When Obama Summons Boehner to the White House does he use a process server?

How does Boehner take knowing he has been called out on the carpet?

You naughty little Ohioan!!!!

It is interesting how the MSM builds a perception.

I wonder how they would take a Boehner summoning Obama to the House floor. Offer him the podium for an hour if he will promise to bring his detailed vision how to balance the budget. Let the Saetoro fly.

For that matter let loud mouth Chris Van Hollen explain how his Balanced Budget Amendment would work since he says the Republican version is unfair. Come on Chrissie, if the Republican BBA is unfair show us what a balanced BBA should look like. And remember it HAS to balance the budget. Which means when your class warfare tax policies shrink revenues or force capital offshore you will get to CUT spending on your precious vote buying schemes as well. Of course he doesn’t have a plan to balance the budget. His only plan is to keep pushing until default is the only option.

But back to Barry. I don’t know what that feller is smoking but it is obvious the guy is cracking up. No pun intended. The real question here is whether Boehner will buckle before Bacha breaks.

As a business person who has negotiated a contract or two I recognize the importance of territory and home field advantage. Back in Newt’s heyday we would see him charge into the White House like a conservative tiger only to emerge liquid kneed and eyes glazed swooning like an intern in a stained blue dress.

Boehner should just pass the BBA out of the House stand-alone, pass CCB out of the House and pass a small debt ceiling increase with with a legal framework for prioritizing payments.

Boehner has an office and a podium. If he can’t bring himself to break negotiations off, he should insist negotiations take place at one or the other.

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

For want of a spine a nation was lost? It wouldn’t be the first time.

When the Speaker was called in after such a blisterin’ and vituperative tirade… and when he arrived this mornin’… did he submissively reply…

“Yes Massuh… Suh… did I do sumtin’ wrong?”

It would be a cold day in hell if I would let that big-mouth brat bully me.

Show us cash on hand today, plus expected revenues to be received before Aug 2, minus accounts payable before Aug 2, with the resulting expected cash on hand for Aug 2, the so-called “default” date that Boehner and Fox News simply accept as the default date.

The real danger of credit rating falls and financial breakdown is due to the debt itself and Barry’s threat to choose to not make debt payments and/or soc sec payments.

Why are federal agencies allowed to stone wall congressional hearings?
(ATF? anyone) Can you picture a federal agency refusing to furnish documents to a committee with Waxman or similar ilk running a hearing. Watch the roof of the building blow right off.

There are undoubtedly “Gypsies in the palace…”

I know that it isn’t “traditional’ for politicians to go into much detail with the general public, but in this particular case…if Repubs were to show via a little “kitchen table economics” where things stand, what options what we have, what we have to try to accomplish, by what date, etc… If they would be that straightforward, it could very well win over a lot of people to the stand they are taking.

That type of answer infuriates me. What the hell have they been doing all of this time? They should have been going on as many TV stations as possible and telling the people what needs to be done, and why. Then let Obama and Reid look the fools.

But it needs to be reasonable for the situation. Obama is willing to take this to the mat because he sees the poll numbers; he is not going to be re-elected unless the GOP screws it up. And we all know that the GOP is good at doing just that, screwing up BIG TIME.

They need to treat Obama like a caged animal backed into a corner. You cannot keep poking him and expect him to be reasonable; we all know Obama is not a reasonable person.

It is too late to get the BIG deal because now because it is the 12th hour. The GOP is going to be blamed because they will not tax the “rich” now. If Boehner came out and told the people that Obama “moved the goal posts” as soon as it happened he would have been better off. The GOP need to realize that most of the voters are informed by the MSM, they need to operate with a more “take it to the people” approach. Tell the voters that Obama wanted more than the 800 bil in revenue/taxes as soon as it happens. And it needs to happen on as many TV channels as possible. The GOP would have the people on their side if they were kept informed. If Boehner would have taken it to the voters a month ago and said this is what needs to happen to stop this spending we would be much better off. I don’t think we would be here still talking about it.

Why does the GOP treat Obama like he will react in a reasonable manner? Obama has out maneuvered them so many times I lost count.

When they came out and voted on the “Ryan plan” without going on all the TV shows they could to explain the plan, it was a huge mistake. The people will not put up with what seemed like the same tactics Pelosi used to ram all the crap down our throats. Voting on the Ryan plan without talking to the people beforehand should have been a wakeup call to them. They need to inform the people and NOT wait till the LAST minute to pass these things. When voters smell back room deals, or rushed bills, you will never recover from that.

But much words and little detail is usually a cover for something you don’t wish to say out right.

I wasn’t wholeheartedly behind the idea of passing the Ryan plan under our current configuration of power.

My belief was, and to some extent still is, that we should have kept the Ryan plan in our pocket until such time as we actually had a chance to enact it into law. The soonest that can be is January 2013.

As far as I can tell, all we did by passing the Ryan plan out of the US House was give the Democrats a chance to use their tried and true Medi-scare tactics.

Of course, I understand that Republicans want to prove that they are serious about tackling the deficit issue and to do that entitlement programs like Medicare must be seriously restructured.

It’s just that the GOP seems to fluctuate from being courageous to being gutless. Right now there’s a belief that the GOP should be courageous.

My attitude is this: The GOP House members and Senate members should save most of their courage for a time when they have complete control, when it will actually make an impact.

I don’t want to see a replay of the 1990s and afterward. The GOP started out courageous, when President Clinton was in office ready to veto everything they did. Then, by the time a Republican was in the White House, the GOP had been beaten down by the media and the Democrats (one and the same, really) the GOP converted to “compassionate conservatism” and they lost their ambition for reforming out of control federal spending.

I’d like to see the GOP time their courage for maximum effectiveness. Now is the time to play it safe. They can be courageous in 2013, when it matters.

In 2006 the GOP lost credibility as the party of fiscal responsibility. Actually it has been slowly eroding since 1995 when they lost the last shutdown battle and resorting to merely playing defense and a do not loose strategy. In 2006 the voters finally had enough and decided it was worth it to give the Dems a try. The next four years after that have been a disaster. At this point, the voters do not know who to trust. The Dems have proven themselves inept but the voters still do not trust the GOP. The only way we can regain that trust is to propose fiscally responsible policies. We cannot win it back by playing go along to get along and claiming that we will be responsible but only when we are back in power. We have to show responsibility, not just promise it at some future contingent date. That future never comes because the voters never trust us.

The polling is running heavily in our favor. Close to 70% don’t want to raise taxes and want to cut spending. Heck, even a majority of DEMOCRATS want to cut spending instead of raising taxes.

And people on here want to roll over and give up because “you don’t poke a caged animal”?????? What part of “we’re winning” do you not understand?

The Democrat/liberal strategy is falling flat on its face, because for once, the GOP is holding the line. The Democrats strategy all along has been to do nothing, propose nothing, let it become a crisis, let the GOP cave and propose tax increases, then blame everything (the tax increases and the specific cuts) on the GOP (hey, we Democrats never proposed cutting entitlements, because we never proposed ANYTHING to begin with).

If the Democrats don’t like the GOP CC&B plan, then let the Democrats propose an alternative. But for God’s sake GOP, don’t negotiate with yourself. Stick with a single plan: CC&B.
