Romney/Rubio best chance for Republicans

Republican really look silly this season. They’re looking for a Conservative superman to come out of nowhere instead of someone who will be a good President. I’m a conservative but I’m not an idealogue. Idealogues like Rush, Hannity and Ingraham gave us John McCain in 2008. They tried to stall the race until a superman entered the race and Mcain won by default. They tried to support Romney at the last minute but it was too late. If they would have endorsed Romney when Lowry and National Review endorsed him we would have stopped John McCain from getting the nomination.

Now Republicans are talking about Sarah Palin and Donald Trump eating pizza. These are serious times and the last thing we need is another ideoalogue in office. We don’t need a President like Bush or Obama who ignore facts and are led by their ideology.

We need a pragmatist in office like Mitt Romney. Clinton was a pragmatist, remember triangulation, and the economy was booming. Reagan was a pragmatist who gave amnesty to illegals. These purist will ruin the Republican party. A candidate like Palin or Santorum is a gift to the Democrats because they can’t get independents.

Romney/Rubio will give Republicans the White House for 16 years. You will get moderates, independents, conservatives and an increase in the Hispanic vote will will offset the natural increase in the black vote because Obama is on the ticket. If Republicans nominate a Sharon Angle type candidate, this will be an utter disaster for the Country because it will ensure 4 more years of Obama.

It would not be with Romney.

Romney is yesterdays man and the election would be a disaster if he became the Republicans answer to defeating Obama.

Rick Perry will be the nominee.

        LOL – that is right…..

Mitt would have to ask Rubio – Mitt is more likely to ask someone like
        Mike Castle.

    >>We need a pragmatist in office like Mitt Romney. Clinton was a pragmatist, remember triangulation, and the economy was booming.<>Reagan was a pragmatist who gave amnesty to illegals.<<

And how did that work out?

along with not-so-veiled insults toward anyone who wants to vote for anyone other than Romney…

Not so much in the way of substance, though. If you want to come in amongst the people who have been doing this for a while, and start shilling for your candidate, probably best to come armed with something other than… that.

“Vote Mitt BECAUSE he’s mediocre” is a new one.

    Anyway

In the diary, Bill Clinton is described as “pragmatist”.

Actually, he was a leftist ideologue who wanted to nationalize health care, and only “traingulated” whenihat attemptt backfired and the GOP captured Congress.

Also, is it really a complimen to Romneyt to be viewed as comparable to Clinton, as in the following quote:

“We need a pragmatist in office like Mitt Romney. Clinton was a pragmatist…”

As for Reagan’s 1986 amnesty, well, that proved less than totally successful in its stated aim of reducing future illegal immigration.

If this is the best we can hope for from Romney, then I think I’ll pass.

But, unfortunately, Romney is a RINO in Conservative clothing.

Between the flip-flops, the “pro-choice before he was pro-life” especially, and the little anchor of RomneyCare, I am just really . . .

underwhelmed, I guess would be the proper description.

I’m willing to wait. After all, the first Caucuses are still way out. Come Labor Day, next year, if Mitt is the nominee, I would probably be able to hold my nose, etc., etc.

Until then, I’m holding out for a Hero.

And just for my own enlightenment, when did Rush, et. al. support McLame before he had wrapped up the nomination? They only seemed to actually support him when it became a fait acompli. IIRC.

he signed a gun ban as Governor of Massachusetts.

    Fail.
