Romney vs Career Politician Perry

Romney created Bain Capital in 1986 with a venture capital start up of $ 37 MM, ALL RAISED ENTIRELY FROM PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS. Since then, Bain has invested in over 110 companies, some successfully and a few not successfully. That’s why it is called risk capital. Bain continues to invest in start ups but Perry was focusing on Romney’s tenure at Bain so I will as well.

Romney and Bain invested in many , many companies , but I’ll focus on 5 of the best and the jobs that were created.

1.. STAPLES
Started in 1986 with one Massachusett’s store. Now, Staples has 1700 stores and 60,000 employees world wide, The company has over 40,000 U.S employees…so one could argue that Bain, and Romney were responsible for creating 40,000 jobs

2. Sports Authority
Started in 1987 with a Bain investment, SA had 9 stores in 6 states. They now have 460 stores in 45 states and more than 10,000 employees in the U.S.

3. Brookstone
Bain invested in 1991, the company has grown to 150 stores in 32 states and 3000 employees in the U.S.

4. Sealy Mattress
Bain invested in 1997. Sealy now has 5000 employees at 25 bedding plants

5. Dominos Pizza
Bain invested in 1998. Dominos now has 60,000 U.S employees at 6000 U.S stores

Rick Perry is another compassionate conservative from Texas that’s soft on illegal immigration and will be a big spender like Bush. His fake compassion will be the excuse for more Government Programs.

Perry’s compassion doubled the debt in Texas. This is the same thing I saw with Bush while these so called conservatives supported big spending Bush in 2001. Perry will be worse.

Perry is one of four members on the Bond Review Board, which ultimately approves most state debt transactions. And over the years, we found, he was a leading advocate for expanding state debts to pay for transportation projects and to combat cancer.

It turns out that transportation is responsible for most of the added debt load under Perry, increasing from basically nothing in 2000 to $11.8 billion outstanding as of Aug. 31 2009. That’s because before 2001, the Texas Department of Transportation lacked the authority to borrow money to pay for road projects. Voters gave it that power in 2001 when they approved a constitutional amendment that Perry supported.

Addressing transportation in his 2001 state of the state speech, Perry said, “I would like for both chambers to pass a bonding program to jump-start construction across our state.”

In 2007, voters also passed a constitutional amendment to create and fund the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas with $3 billion in bonds over 10 years, starting in January 2010. Perry had championed the cause with cyclist and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong and others.

It’s clear the amount of state debt has more than doubled since Perry became governor.

I said the same thing about Bush when people like Rush, Hannity and other conservatives supported Bush. Perry will be worse than Bush.

It’s sad to see Republicans who support Perry hate success. I’m not surprised because Perry and Obama are twins on illegal immigration.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz the head of the DNC said the same thing that Perry said this morning on Morning Joe.

She said we need to “jump-start construction.” Translation, we need more spending and compassion.

Perry meant “We need to get government out of the {expletive} way so builders can build.”

That you can’t see this just confirms my initial suspicions.

Sadly, just like democrats with Obama some Republicans will project their ideology onto Rick Perry whose just like Bush and Obama when it comes to things like immigration.

        Perry said:

Addressing transportation in his 2001 state of the state speech, Perry said,

Are you really so boneheaded that you can’t see that you’re not winning anyone over to your side?

Romney deserves a lot better than you as his RedState champion.

scream to me “Hi, I’m a troll!”.

Maybe it’s not true in every case, but .. as you point out here, romney4prez is actually doing more harm to Romney than good with these stupid attacks.

On the flipside of the same coin, perry4prez is doing more harm to Perry with his insistance that the only true conservatives are evangelical christians.

I suppose they may be unintentional trolls, and naturally I defer to the wisdom of the Moderators, but .. where I’ve seen these “johnny one-note” types in other forums, they usually spring up and die away in time with the life cycle of the political campaigns they claim to support.

If they’re paid astroturf, then .. in these cases, they’re not doing very well at it. If they’re false-flag operations, then ….

      I’m just stating the facts.

Look, I own my own business and I want a President that understand how to maximize trade deals to give us the most growth and also knows how and why businesses and jobs come and go in this Global Economy.

I don’t want another compassionate Texan whose soft on illegal immigration. That’s a recipe for disaster.

But, if people want to nominate Rick P:erry and ignore the facts then they have to live with their decision. I said Bush would be horrible on immigration and economics but people painted him as a true conservative in 2001. I said McCain would be a horrible candidate in 2008 and Romney’s business credintials would be more appealing in a General election and these same Conservatives who support Perry gave us John McCain.

Rick Perry will be worse and if the economy gets a little better by next year, the Republicans will only win a few States.

Romney can beat Obama even if unemployment dropped to 8% or below, which it won’t. But Perry will have no chance if the slightest uptick in the economy occurs and even with a bad economy Perry will struggle to win the General Election.

The Democrats will ask their Republican opponents,”Do you agree with your Presidential nominee that homosexuals are like alcoholics?”

because the vast majority of those on this site think he’s a loser. The strategy of trashing all the other candidates and avoiding the support of your own is one that will just piss people off and puts a lot of attention on you from us moderators who are responsible for getting rid of obnoxious posters…

          he’s a troll.

          But heck, you knew that.

But I have to give the benefit of the doubt, at least temporarily.

a lot of jobs in Mass. It ranked 47th in the nation in job creation… a couple of places lower than Texas.

And Romney did leave behind an electoral juggernaut in Mass that has elected two GOP senators as well as dominating the state house… oh, wait… no he didn’t.

To be clear, Romney is acceptable to me as a candidate but he’s not a conservative of any stripe and there is no evidence, based on his personal electoral history, that he can win.

      • Martin Knight

I mean, you’re not winning anyone over to the anti-Perry side and you’re frankly not winning anyone over to the pro-Romney side (which is sad considering that you’re actually capable of it).

So exactly what are you hoping to achieve by your multiple posts attacking Perry in increasingly ridiculous ways?

romney4prez all you do everyday is slam Perry so you can protect your ken doll nominee. Your obviously as obsessed attacking Perry as the democrats are in attacking Sarah Palin. The fact is your ken doll nominee is more like John McCain than any of the candidates in the field. Why do I say that you ask, well simply because of the fact that the media treated McCain so nicely before he got the nomination. The media is giving Romney the same treatment.

romney4prez you need to quit spouting the talking points and instead make a passionate case for who wish to be the republican nominee. Right now all you are doing is discrediting your candidate my making foolish posts like the one you made here

thats all tribbles know how to do, not make a case for thier candidate,
but spend all thier time bashing the ones they fear the most.
The only way they can actually promote thier candidate is by trying to make the others look bad.
      At this, he fails badly.
