President Obama inadvertently stumbled onto an admission of one of the major problems of his form of government when he said that Romney will get rid of your cops, firefighters, and teachers.

The problem, of course, is that the federal government was never meant to have any involvement with the affairs of local communities. And among those affairs is the hiring of cops, firefighters, and teachers.

The problem with Obama’s way of thinking is twofold:

1. The only way the federal government can offer support to the states is to tax the residents of those states. By their good will, the federal government then returns a small percentage to the states to hire municipal employees, among other things. The question each of us should be asking is “why do add the extra step of sending the money to the federal government, only to have them return it?” If you said “power and control,” you win the prize. If the federal government can dole out to the states the money for policemen, then the federal government can also threaten to withhold that money if a state does something that the feds don’t agree with. Say…making illegal immigration illegal. Obama just admitted to his supporters that the money for cops is a favorite pawn in the game of politics. And right now, it’s his game.

2. If the federal government controls the funding of local law enforcement, how far of a reach is it for them to simply assume control of all law enforcement. While this may seem a bit conspiratory, remember that each state also used to have its own army, or militia. The federal government assumed complete control of those militias, leaving the states right to self protection completely in the hands of the federal government. This would have sent the signers of the Constitution into convulsions. Remember, their biggest fear was a federal government stripping them of their sovereignty, which is only possible if the federal government assumes control of the military. If, in some future time of turmoil, the federal government decides they can do a better job of managing our local law enforcement than we can, then guess what? We have a federal police force, which every dictatorship and tyrannical government since the beginning of time has had at their disposal.

President Obama’s remarks about any President having any control over local law enforcement should strike terror into the heart of every freedom loving American. They’ve already got the tools in place to push us into servitude. It only takes one generation to find the right (or wrong) leader to take advantage of it.

If you stand up against the religion of the left, you will be attacked.

Make no mistake about it, my friends. If you stand up for what you believe in, you will be attacked, laughed at, made fun of, even slandered in your own home town. This is the liberal mode of operation. You must understand, first and foremost, that liberalism isn’t just a political or economic viewpoint. It is a religion. A religion that has a central government as its deity and, as Jonah Goldberg states it, John F. Kennedy as its crucified savior.

This is an important point. When we launch our own attacks against what we see as a fast growing socialistic cancer, they see it as an attack against their god. To them, the state provides the answers for all our suffering. The state loves us unconditionally and provides for our every need. The state will establish fairness and eliminate all social and class barriers. For those in the liberal left who still believe in the actual Christ, they make their case by claiming Jesus would have approved of their brand of “social justice.” During the early years of Progressivism at the turn of the last century, ministers involved in the movement even claimed that the central government was God’s tool for building His kingdom on Earth.

Oddly, anytime a government is mentioned in the Bible, it is described as a “beast” or, at a minimum, an oppressive force to be tolerated by the early church. Never once does Christ suggest that we replace individual salvation and charity with a corporate one. However, as history has taught us, the Bible can be translated to justify just about anything, from slavery to war.

So, before we get too comfy with the success of our Tea Party movement, we must not assume naively that the liberal/progressive opposition will suddenly realize that they’ve been found out and the jig is up. Remember, truth means nothing to these people. We can roll out one historical fact after another and they will simply ignore it, always reverting to their favorite chants of “racism,” “hater,” or “fear monger.” When you are defending your faith, it is quite acceptable to display anger or outright hostility. Facts are only a distraction, it is faith in the system that will drive us onward toward our utopia, our New Jerusalem and New Heaven.

This understanding is vital for the Patriot. The attacks directed at us in the new revolution will grow more hostile, more bitter, and more personal. Eventually, I fear they will grow violent. Am I being dramatic? I think not. Again, I have history on my side.

Woodrow Wilson jailed those who spoke out against his “wartime socialism.” FDR’s administration physically harassed business owners who didn’t participate in his “Blue Eagle” program. Do we even need to bring up the uprising of the fascist liberals of the 60s? The Black Panthers, the Weather Underground, and scores of student uprisings turned that decade into one of the most violent in our nation’s history. Remember, “pig” wasn’t just a term directed at the police, it was directed at all those in the “establishment.” Anglo white males were to be loathed, reduced to third class status, even butchered. Again, if you think I’m over-reacting, simply listen to the sermons delivered by Jeremiah Wright, our President’s minister for twenty years.

If you are working to stop the Progressive movement and their socialization of American, you are not just in opposition. You are the enemy.

We’ve already seen indications of what lies ahead. Thuggish organizations like SEIU have shown their ability to use violence in place of debate. As the Patriots make bigger headway into exposing the liberal fallacies, the counter-protests will grow more violent. Naturally, any violence that does occur will be blamed on the Tea Partiers.

I pray that I’m wrong. I hope that we’ve moved beyond violence as a means to counter free speech. But when people in the administration, U.S. Congressmen and Senators refer to flag-waving grandmothers as “terrorists,” I know what’s coming. We’ve been branded the enemy.

If there is any good news to deliver, it is this: we are in the American majority. Americans have great tolerance toward opposing ideas, rhetoric, even mud-slinging. But we’ve always drawn the line at violence. Once the Progressives turn violent, as they’ve always done, public opinion turns against them in one massive wave.

So be prepared, my friends. Truth and liberty will always prevail, but the opposition will not go quietly. They will fight for their god.

I won’t say that I woke up one morning and realized that everything I ever believed was a lie. In actuality, it took a long string of successive mornings, having spent the previous nights reading, studying, learning the things I was never taught as a youth. My faith comes to mind first, of course. Having been brought up in a world that glorifies greed, lust, and fruitless pursuits, it was both shocking and freeing for me to realize that life was meant to be lived on much simpler and purer terms.

From a political and historical perspective, however, my anxiety level only increased as I learned the truths of our past as well as our present. The lies shoved down our throats on a daily basis are so brazen and rapid fire that we’ve developed immunity and zero desire to even investigate the claims of the liberal left or the media (here’s a hint: you only need to find one lie, then you can properly identify the liar). We truly have come full circle. We cannot rely on the “free press” for our information, and certainly not on our politicians. Even those that claim to be conservative often develop liberal stripes upon entering office.

Am I saying that liberals tend to be less honest that conservatives? Not in their minds. It’s important to remember that liberalism/progressivism shares a common history with socialists and fascists, all of who believed that the utopia they would deliver justified any measure they had to undertake to reach it. Propaganda has long been a favorite tool of the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and the Progressives in the United States. Woodrow Wilson certainly embraced it. Franklin Roosevelt was no stranger, either.

And our current administration? Oh my. The propaganda machine is alive and well. No president since Nixon has kept a tighter grip on the media, bordering on outright paranoia. As I write this, the administration, through the FCC, is attempting to gain tighter control over the internet, the last vestige of true, unhampered free speech. He’s already taken aim at Fox News and conservative talk show hosts, which should be easily sunk by carefully placed regulations and “investigations” by the IRS and FCC. What we’re left with after that is a steady stream of state sponsored media propaganda. But at least the New York Times will regain some of its lost readership. NBC and CNN will get a much needed ratings boost as well.

Is any of this new? Not at all. Under Wilson, you could go to jail for even speaking out against America’s involvement in the war. Even that horrible George Bush didn’t try that. Under FD Roosevelt, you were labeled un-patriotic for not participating in the NRA (National Recovery Administration). One tailor in New York was sentenced to 30 days in jail for charging five cents under the NRA minimum for pressing a suit. What? You don’t remember that from history class? And if you speak out against Obama’s health care plan? Why, you’re a racist, of course. While Obama is not the first to openly ridicule his detractors, he has certainly taken it to a new level. I mean really, to plant your goons in Tea Party rallies with racist signs…really Mr. President? Somehow, I pictured “bringing the country together” in a different light. I had no idea it meant a national smear campaign against anyone who disagrees with you.

Speaking of smear campaigns, I need someone to tell me if another President has openly criticized an entire state for passing a law, then invited a president of a corrupt government to come and help him criticize the hapless citizens of said U.S. state. Perhaps next President Obama can invite Mahmoud Amhadinejad to lecture us on our anti-semitic policies. Oh, wait…we’ve already been a stop on the Iranian President’s speaking tour. We’ll have to wait for the next go ‘round.

Speaking of foreign dictators, did you know that FDR had big fans in Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini? They loved his New Deal. Il Duce even said that FDR was “one of us.” Goshdarnit, I know that’s in my 8th grade history book somewhere. Must have slept through that class (I had an early paper route). I don’t mean to keep painting parallels, but isn’t it odd that Obama has this huge fan base in Germany, France, Spain, and every other European nation that has embraced socialism like a big red teddy bear?

Feel free to chew on that last paragraph for the weekend. I have so much more to write. I know, I’m just one bloggist in the storm. But if enough of us lift our voice, even the giant propaganda machine can’t drown us out. Get loud, my friends. And never back down.

There is only one choice each American must make: do we continue with the progressive experiment or return to our constitutional roots?

Despite the daily issues that liberals and conservatives take up like swords with which to jab at each other—oil spills, health care, immigration—the real bottom line comes down to one question. Everyone must answer. If you can’t give one, then you need to take a long vacation and figure it out. The question is, are you:
A.	A believer in the constitution, as written, as the governing document of this nation, or
B.	Someone who believes the constitution was a good start, and that we need to take a “Darwinian” approach to governing, adapting the laws and powers of the government to societal evolution.
Really, it comes down to that. Every other argument is merely a distraction. Yes, there are variations to the theme within both groups. Not all conservatives believe in a strong overseas military presence. Not all liberals support abortion. In fact, if you turn back the clock, you’ll find many of these issues have flipped from liberal to conservative and from conservative to liberal. They are current issues for the most part, not basic principles.
We’ve also had ample time to test each approach to government. From the founding of this nation through the early years of the 20th century, the constitution was pretty much the guiding force behind decisions made in this country (we won’t get into a Civil War discussion here, mayve another day). Laissez-faire, or conservative, economics was the driving force in our nation. The government played a limited role, allowing the “invisible hand” of economics to bring about boom years and bust. The pioneering spirit of our forefathers withstood the economic storms involved in this type of system, and most accepted the risk and responsibility that came with unfettered freedom. Feel free to travel west, but the arrows come with the territory.
Since 1912 or so, the progressive experiment has been at the forefront. While Italy, Germany, and Russia were conducting their own social engineering in Europe, leaders in the U.S. also became enthralled with the same philosophers that drove Europeans into the hunt for a utopian society. While the three aforementioned nations dove right into variations of the socialist theme, with disastrous results, the U.S. took on the “baby steps” approach. Though it could be argued that Woodrow Wilson had one hell of a baby stride. As did FDR and Johnson. The progressive movement of the last century brought us programs like social security, medicare, Medicaid, unemployment benefits, and so on. Though the costs of these programs are enormous, the presumption is that the long term benefits outweigh the costs.
So now, as we sit in 2010, with another progressive president taking even larger baby strides than his predecessors, we in America find ourselves in a dilemma. As we face unsustainable debt, with an eye on Europe like miners watching a canary, we are asking ourselves how to proceed. Do we continue with the progressive experiment, hoping that it will all work out with just a few more programs in place? Or do we scrap the plan and get back to a constitutional form of government? The first choice may be herding us toward a cliff. The second means many hard years of undoing programs that we’ve become quite comfortable with. Neither is attractive to this generation. Which is why we find ourselves in such a heated debate amongst ourselves and in Washington.
I think it’s clear where I stand. “Plan B” has proven to be an unmitigated disaster. Social engineering is one step away from playing God. Indeed, it takes great faith to believe that mere mortals can determine the economic outcome of an entire society. To continue down the path begun early in the last century can only lead to the ruin of our nation. Europe is our canary in the mine. She’s gasping now. Do we wait until she falls to newsprint or do we get out while there’s still air?
I’m not naïve. I understand perfectly what a reversal means to me and this generation. We’ll lose many of our beloved social benefits that we’ve already paid into. I will not be able to retire at 65 and spend my days fishing. If I get sick, I have to find a way to pay for it on my own. Many will be financially ruined. Many, but not all. If someone can show me a “Plan C,” I’m listening. But the longer we take to make a decision, the more drastic the necessary measures will be. Greece is the result of waiting until we can see the waves pounding the rocks below. We in America can hear the surf, but still have a few long baby steps remaining before we’re standing on the same scenic overlook.
We can turn around now and make an organized retreat, one that will result in fewer casualties. But each of us must make the choice where we stand. Do we return to “Plan A” or continue headlong into “Plan B”?
Once you know the answer to that question, you will no longer be distracted by the issues of the day. So where do you stand?

Liberalism, which is more accurately defined as Progressivism, has a much deeper history in our country. While Teddy Roosevelt was the first U.S. President to use the term openly, it was Woodrow Wilson who gave it teeth, as well a permanent home in the Democratic Party.

The first thing a Tea Party Patriot must do is understand what it is he or she is up against. While the conservative movement is maturing, it had not been accepted by any party until Goldwater in the mid 60s. Even then, the movement did not find a home until Ronald Reagan fully embraced it and brought it to the White House in 1980. Even after eight years of one of the most popular presidents in our history and astounding economic growth across all income levels (do not let a liberal get away with the “only rich got richer” lie), the conservative movement lost its foothold in the Republican Party as the membership began a slow drift to the center, concerned they were alienating the moderates and those on the left. The irony is that up to 70% of the U.S. population claims to be conservative. Among some of those that prefer to be called a moderate or even liberal, a close examination of their values reveals that they are, indeed, conservative at their core. So, whenever the Republicans adjusted their values toward the center, they were, in fact, moving away from the largest percentage of the population.

More on that later. Liberalism, which is more accurately defined as Progressivism (listen for the key word “progressive” in many a Democratic speech), has a much deeper history in our country. While Teddy Roosevelt was the first U.S. President to use the term openly, it was Woodrow Wilson who gave it teeth, as well a permanent home in the Democratic Party. Understand, during this time, the social engineers of the world were hard at work. In Europe we had universal socialists, national socialists, fascists, and other offshoots of those entertaining the utopian dream. While progressives are not fascists or Nazis (national socialists), the ideology all bubbles up from the same socialist well. They are totalitarians, one and all, meaning that they believe every aspect of human life can and should be under the control of a compassionate and wise central planner. Despite the lessons of the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, and fascist Italy, to name a few, the progressives continue their pursuit of this utopia. After Wilson, a long line of progressives filled his shoes—from FDR to Johnson to Obama, with a few lightweights in between, some in the Republican Party, which struggles to this day to find its identity (and that’s why we’re here, my friends). I’ll return to these topics in future posts, but understand this: Obama did not spring up out of the ashes to bring about “change we can believe in.” This is a century long ideology. His defeat in 2012 and a sweeping defeat of Democrats in the next two elections will not end this fight. It’s our lack of vigilance that got us in this mess. We have a great advantage, however, one that we did not have until the 1960s. It’s the conservative movement. Our value system now had a name and we soon discovered that we are the majority.

President Obama, like other progressives before him, is so convinced that his ideology is the only way that he openly admits his beliefs. But he does more than that—he gives us the battle plan for his party’s defeat. He tells us, quite bluntly, what scares him. Let’s list them:

Fox News

The Tea Party Movement

Talk Radio

Internet social sites

Internet news sources and blogs

As you read that list, you should feel fairly excited. For years we conservatives have bemoaned the left leaning mainstream media, primarily the major TV networks and big newspapers. But that’s all the progressives have (that and a huge microphone in the White House). They’ve built their propaganda machine on those platforms for decades, with outstanding results. But they’ve got a problem. Most of the population no longer gets their information from NBC, ABC, CBS, or the New York Times. They get it from—you guessed it—talk radio and the internet. Those that still get it from television are tuning into Fox News, which has maintained the number one ratings spot for several years now. The President has reason to be concerned over our being “distracted by too much information.” When your progressive movement is at the cusp of full implementation, the truth can be a very inconvenient distraction.

I’d like to add to that list. Books are also a great source of information. Though not timely, they offer a history lesson that we all need to understand in order to defeat an enemy that relies on our ignorance of history to tout one slanted piece of propaganda after another (like referring to conservatives as “fascists,” a label that makes no sense at all). Because we’re unlearned, we have no argument. Educate yourselves. Use the sources that Obama has generously outlined for you, but read the heavy stuff as well, from history to current events. I’ll keep the Amazon list going and put some of my reviews up as well.

I’ll leave you with this: do not jump on the “I hate Beck/Levin/Limbaugh/or any other conservative” bandwagon. We are all on the same side. Conservatives must remain focused on their purpose, which is the defeat and reversal of the progressive tide that has swept over this country since 1912. Yeah, it’s a tough, uphill road. And it will not be won in one or two elections. Most of us will probably not see a true free market in our lifetimes, just as anyone born in the last century didn’t see it. We will bring about real change. But all of our sacrifice of time, money, and energy to win this fight will be an investment in this nation’s future. The only reward we will reap will be the knowledge that we didn’t sit idly by and watch the corruption of our freedom unfold in front of us.

Stand by, Patriots, the party has only just begun.
