John Conyers: The Wannabe Congressional Bully

How much more bad news can you absorb? Every week another corporation is laying off or going under. Another bank is tanking or buying private jets and remodeling executive bathrooms with TARP money. Congress approves a tax cheat to be in charge of our money and our income tax filings. The same Congress can’t seem to track where any of our money has gone. Every day we’re being told this financial crisis is comparable to the Great Depression. We are told to brace ourselves for several years of this.

And then there’s this: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/01/26/house-judiciary-chairman-subpoenas-karl-rove/

Michigan Representative John Conyers (D, of course)  is bent on political revenge. This is nothing more than a “we won and now it’s payback time on Republicans.” Karl Rove is as hated by the left as the nativity scene on the court house lawn at Christmas. And because of that, he is going to be the sole target of this investigation. Never mind that those attorneys worked at the pleasure of the President and could be dismissed by him, at his pleasure, just like the attorneys during the Clinton administration had been.

How important is this? I can’t for the life of me, see how spending tax dollars on these hearings will do any good for anyone. If he’s after crooked politicians, I’ve got a couple big names for him to investigate. Why not look into Chris Dodd’s sweetheart deal with the now defunct CountryWide Homes? Why isn’t he turning his jaundiced eye on Barney Frank and his connections with Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and the job Frank’s  ”friend” had there? Because they aren’t Republicans, that’s why.

Conyers has done nothing more than declare partisan war on Republicans and he’s using Rove as the representative of the evil right. This whole thing is baseless, in the legal sense so the only answer is that Conyers is flexing his “we’re in power now” muscle. He wants to blacken the eye of the Republican party by punching Rove in the face.

If this doesn’t say revenge, I don’t know what does: “Change has come to Washington, and I hope Karl Rove is ready for it,” said Rep. Conyers.

If we’re supposed to “put away childish things”, as TheOne has admonished us to, then Conyers should be held to account for his partisn schoolyard bullying.

Community Organizing with Terrorists

I have no problem with torture. None. When you consider that we aren’t beheading Gitmo detainees and uploading videos of it to the Internet, whatever we did to those detainees is mild. Waterboard them, throw them on the rack, make them listen to Barry Manilow 24/7… it’s all good with me. Do whatever it takes to get whatever information we can get.

Does any thinking American believe we can win this war by being nice guys?  TheOne wants us to defer to our better angels and fight this war through our “values and ideals.” Yea, that’ll work. While they are beheading, torturing and dragging the bodies of dead soldiers through the streets of some far off village, we’ll be civilized and impress them with our “moral highground”, please the Europeans and code pink and treat those Islamofacist detainees with kidd gloves. Lord knows, we don’t want to offend anyone.

President Bush had the right idea. Take the war to them. It worked. It kept the war out of America and kept the terrorists on the defensive. Wiretap and waterboard if that’s what has to be done. I believe we have to do whatever it takes to beat these guys.

These guys are not local barbers and shopkeepers that you can sit down and “community organize” with. You can’t invite them over for wine and cheese and think you can win their hearts and minds. These are evil people. They are adherents to a cult of death. They are an evil, medieval society with 21st century technology. You can’t beat them by being “a kinder, gentler” bunch of nice guys.

To our detriment, I don’t believe that the peace nick appeaser in our highest office will ever figure that out and if he does, it will be too late.

The LOST Best Hope

The Last Best Hope

After reading and seeing how the election of TheOne was received and cheered around the globe, how he’s been hailed as the first President of the World and idolized past all sensible comprehension, this piece by Hitchens gave me a small lift. There actually are others in the world who see this election without rose colored glasses. There really are people in the world who don’t want to see America become France… or England… or Germany.

There actually are non-Americans who are lamenting the future of this “last best hope on Earth” under this very liberal and inexperienced young leader. Hitchens speaks of America in lofty, if pasttense terms: Suspicious of welfare addiction, feeble justice and high taxes, totally committed to preserving its own national sovereignty, unabashedly Christian in a world part secular and part Muslim, suspicious of the Great Global Warming panic, it [America] was unique.

Now we hear the drum beat of moral relativists, or as Hitchens calls it the march of political correctness. Don’t be mistaken, political correctness is a symptom of a larger disease called moral relativism. Moral relativism will be the bullet that kills America. And our politicians and entertainers will be the gunmen.

Moral relativists call us bigots and tell us we are intolerant for not accepting gay marriage. They call us stupid and outdated for not agreeing with socialism’s ideal of spreading the wealth. We were called racist for not voting for TheOne. We are intolerant, exclusive and bigotted for not following the left’s Marxist political philosophies.

To the moral relativists or the left, everything is grey. There are no black and white issues, no good or bad, no right or wrong. Everything is relative and everyone’s opinion is right. And if you dare say that abortion is bad or that gay marriage is wrong, you will be stoned into silence.

And I believe that is part of the reason we lost this battle and why we are losing the war. We have been intimidated into silence, which is passive approval or at the least, not any kind of opposition, to speak of. The media and political attacks on Joe the plumber are good examples of silence intimidation. Be silent, be agreeable, don’t ask the obvious or hard questions. Be like us, the moral relativists. Otherwise, we will audit your tax returns for the next 10 years and publicize your divorce arrangements

But thankfully, Joe stood tall against it and made us all prouder and louder. His is an example we need to follow. We have lost our moral compass or maybe more accurately, we gave it up to the left. If we don’t get it back, if we don’t find our direction again, we will become the lost best hope on Earth.

Thank God they aren’t naming those babies Hussien

The only subtitle I can think of for this is "for cryin' out loud"

New Baby Baracks

AP sets the stage for TheOne’s win and who to blame

'Right when the thing is about to go under, they hand it over to the black man.'

All kinds of blame and fear to go around in this story:
AP story: blacks imagine Obama win

“He has to win,” Durr said. “If he doesn’t, I think you’ll see this country — I’m afraid to say what I think would happen the next day. I don’t even want to think that way.”

And if TheOne can’t cut the mustard in office then they’ll say it’s because white America waited too long to invest confidence in a black President:

“The empire is in decline, the culture is in decay, the democracy is in trouble, financial markets near collapse,” said Princeton professor Cornel West. “It’s almost Biblical. And you can imagine what the black brothers and sisters in the barbershops and beauty salons say: ‘Right when the thing is about to go under, they hand it over to the black man.’”

Dress code for Obama’s gala: GOLASHES!!!

Be sure you powder your nose before you go

Michelle Malkin

AceofSpades

Photo ID is racist unless it’s neccessary for your security and your gala event. And your name is TheOne.

The latest reports say there won’t be near enough porta pottys for this big bash. Maybe the miracle of Cana will be reperformed in Chicago and instead of limitless wine, porta pottys will materialize.

If not, I can see it now: homeless folks (aka registered voters who live on park bench #9) peeing on your kid’s shoes.

aaaaaahahahahahaha!!!!

“The spirit of the age is: Ask not what your country can do for you, demand it.”

After January, Obama won't be doing any heavy lifting

Mark Steyn/JWR

To govern is to choose. And sometimes the choices are tough ones. When has Barack Obama chosen to take a stand? When he got along to get along with the Chicago machine? When he sat for 20 years in the pews of an ugly neo-segregationist race-baiting grievance-monger? When he voted to deny the surviving “fetuses” of botched abortions medical treatment? When in his short time in national politics he racked up the most liberal - i.e., the most doctrinaire, the most orthodox, the most reflex - voting record in the Senate? Or when, on those many occasions the questions got complex and required a choice, he dodged it and voted merely “present”?

TheOne will not be governing. He will not make any hard choices. He’ll never be accountable for anything unpleasant or unpopular. As Steyn says, he’ll take the path of least resistance. It will be Pelosi and Reid doing the water carrying and he’ll rubber stamp them.

He won’t raise taxes. When he says that, he’s truthin’ all of us. The evil duo in Congress will just let the Bush tax cuts run out in 2010 and our taxes will automatically go back to the pre-Bush levels. Obama will cheer them on from the sidelines. TheOne, The President of the World, will not be responsible for anything. His lackeys will do it for him.

It’s kinda on the same line of Congress never voting themselves a raise… God Bless Them.

Their raise is automatic… unless they vote AGAINST it.

The Obscene Hypocrisy of the Left

or whoopin' it up with Oprah and Obama

What I’m finding so obscene right now is that there is so much talk about Sarah’s wardrobe when Obama is going to spend $2million on an election night party in Chicago. A man who is fighting for the undertrodden and downcast and he’s going to spend this kind of money on a party? I can imagine lots of places $2million could be better spent.

Then there’s the California teacher’s union that has spent $1million to defeat the marriage question. This is the state that can’t find the money to pay it’s bills, including the state’s teachers and their own union has this much money to throw around?

Why aren’t these guys all sharing the wealth? Since they’re so in favor of that, it would seem to me that they should be sharing it with those less off than they are. Help out the community, Mr. Community Organizer! Help pay the teachers, you thieving teacher’s union!

You have to wonder who writes Biden’s speeches

Is he inviting a little terrorism so The One can show his "steel spine"?

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/20/biden-obama-tested-world-months-administration/

Democratic strategist and pollster Doug Schoen said Biden’s comments are “probably an uncomfortable truth, certainly not what you want as a Democratic strategist for your vice presidential candidate to say….

Joe Biden has to be one of the scariest guys on TV these days. Let him loose as a genuine VP and Lord knows what he’ll be saying.

Beating up on Cindy

NYTImes story

Has anyone discussed this NYT story about Cindy McCain?

“The Times has reported vigorously on the backgrounds of the candidates and the influential people in their lives, including both prospective first ladies. We reported where the facts led us,” Times spokeswoman Catherine Mathis said in a written statement to FOXNews.com.

“The story was a richly reported, completely fair, respectful — even empathetic — profile of a would-be first lady,” Mathis added. “The material is almost all from named sources, and the McCain campaign has not disputed a single fact.”

Contrary to the Times’ letter to Fox, I don’t find any empathy in this story about Mrs. McCain. The headline of the story alone, is unflattering and sets the whole tone for the story.

If they’ve “reported vigorously” on the lives of both candidates and their spouses, someone show me this same vigorous reporting on the lives and past of Mr. and Mrs. Obama.

Obama’s mysterious and questionable past

I am appealing to those of you who are much smarter than I because I received an email today that I can’t stop thinking about. It’s been eating at me all day and I felt like this was the one place I could come to share it and maybe get some answers. I know that I’m going to appear pretty ignorant to most of you. But I don’t think I’m the only one who has many of these same questions.

I’ve already heard or read everything in the following email at one time or another, so none of this is really news to me. However, this is the first time it’s all been incorperated. Like the lady who sent this, I’m worried. Actually, I’m past worried. I’m terrified that he might be elected and what will happen if he does.

One interesting statement in this email regards Obama’s trip to Iraq in May. I read a headline on Fox webpage regarding this and that he had asked the Iraqis to hold off on any plans until after the new president is elected. I was unable to read that story which was linked to the Washington Times. Everytime I went to that page, my computer locked up. I’ve not been able to find any reference to this story since.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and post (if you do.) I would like for those of you who have studied this man and his past to debunk or substantiate the statements in the following email:

*This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have changed my mind three times since than. I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with. About six months ago, I started thinking “where did the money come from for Obama”. I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and money was tight. We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans.

I started looking into Obama’s life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. “Barry” (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan. During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a “round the world” trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s family. My question - Where did he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It’s not cheap! to say the least. Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York.

By “chance” he met Antoin “Tony” Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named “Entrepreneur of the Decade” by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association”. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented “Rezar” which Rezko’s firm. Rezko was one of Obama’s first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with “seed money” for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama’s boss. She is now Obama’s chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was “sacked” after the press found out he was having regular contacts with “Hamas”, which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran. This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama’s visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will “Take care of things”.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those “small” Internet campaign contribution for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on “This Week” with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, “My Muslim faith”. When questioned, “he make a mistake”. Some mistake!

All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven’t all of our “intelligent” members of the press been reporting this?

A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - “Beware of the enemy from within”!!*
