How did I miss this? Kos for Scozzafava in NY-23

October 1:

So it’s official, I’m rooting for the Republican to win. As a congresswoman, she could either move even more to the left to properly represent her progressive-trending district and be a pain in the side of the GOP caucus (they have nothing like our Blue Dogs), or Democrats can field a real Democrat to challenge her in 2010.

Markos fears Hoffman, and rightly so.  His brand of liberalism demands purity of socialist standards, and he has given his approval to Dede.  Read his whole piece.  It’s most enlightening.

He actually wants Dede over the Dem Owens, who apparently had been an Independent. I guess the RNC, RNCC and Newt missed this endorsement. I’m glad to support Hoffman, and if the Dem Owens pulls it off because of the split vote between Dede and Hoffman, so be it. sounds like Owens would be better for us than Dede. Markos doesn’t understand, to us there is no such thing as a “moderate Conservative.”

That is just so swell that I want to get up and dance a jig in front of my computer. My heart swells with pride in the leadership of our party. My soul sings an aria to their competence.

And my stomach urps it all onto the floor. Behold, people, bipartisanship at its finest!

When Kos and the Republican leadership, who are clear ideological opponents, decide to ally themselves against their common enemy: the Romans, terrorists, Iran, conservatives – then we are fast approaching farce – except that the outcome won’t be very funny.

After all, if enough conservatives get elected, the Republican leadership are going to find themselves cut off from the punch bowl and tossed out on their buns. The future of our republic is less important to them than being pigs today.

On the other hand, it’s good to know who are the Summer Soldiers on the Republican side, so that when conservatives regain political strength, we know who are loyal allies and who are strict opportunists. Better that they out themselves now than hide like worms in an apple.
