While watching the Sunday talk shows today, it suddenly became very clear to me why the Democrats need to win this election.
First, we are finally winning in Iraq. That is unacceptable. We need to immediately pull the troops out so that we can send them into Darfur, Afghanistan and Pakistan, to rebuild those countries and create Democracies there. We simply chose the wrong war. Iraq should have remained under the control of Saddam Hussein who was a peaceful man and posed no threat to his neighbors or to the world in terms of weapons of mass destruction.
Second, the economy is in trouble. Pelosi, Reid and the Democrats have shown how their leadership is right for America. And, with Obama as President they will conduct the right investigations into what went wrong with our economy, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, etc. They will continue to investigate Palin and Bush for firing certain personnel, which caused the entire economy to collapse and shows the depth of corruption and cronyism of Republicans.
Third, our health care system is not up to par with the rest of the world. We need to create more entities like Fannie and Freddie to make sure that everyone gets affordable health care. The housing crisis should be the model for this legislation. That way all health insurance companies in the country can fail, leaving the tax payers to pick up the bill for everyone’s health insurance.
On November 4, make sure that you get out and vote for the only people capable of bringing America down to the level of the rest of the world. It simply isn’t fair that we should be the most powerful country in the world. Let’s give someone else a chance for a CHANGE. Maybe Iran can pick up the slack. Mahmoud wants to be our friend. He spoke at the United Nations and told the world that we are all heathens and don’t worship the one true God. He could be the World’s Minister instead of the world’s worst enemy. We haven’t been listening. He won’t blow us all away if we convert to his religion and renounce our sinful ways.
That is why we need Barack and the Democrats to lead us into the most peaceful and wonderful times in which we can hold hands with our enemies and admit that we have been wrong to try to defeat them. They will finally love us!!!

The bright side
Alberta Sunday, October 26th at 2:01PM EDT (link)If the dums do win, I think we can safely assume GOP majorities in the congress and a GOP candidate in the white house in 2012.
Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right.

Doesn't work that way when you're dealing with wannabe totalitarians
civil_truth Sunday, October 26th at 5:04PM EDT (link)If Obama wins in 2008, based on trends and extrapolation of his pattern of ruthless behavior, it’s far more likely that Obama basically will run unopposed in 2012 because every viable Republican contender will have been eliminated through investigation, indictment, insinuation, or political sabotage aided by a lapdog media - and the national GOP will be broke.
After all, this elimination of opponents is behind Obama’s meteoric rise to power hitherto, and they haven’t changed their *modus operandi *for this election. He will only intensify the approach once he holds the levers of executive power.
As for Congress, 2012 election expectations will be for 300+ Dems in the House and 70 Dems in the Senate.
Unless something dramatically changes the power lines.
And Rightly So!
You've got that right.
Sandra_Lea_Wise Sunday, October 26th at 6:48PM EDT (link)We also said the same thing in 2006, that once the country got a look at Pelosi/Reid running things, we’d win in 2008.

David Hinz Sunday, October 26th at 6:56PM EDT (link)they have been able to blame it all on President Bush and the legacy media has been carrying their water for them with that message.
It would be a little harder to blame it on President Bush if they control both the White House and Congress. They will still attempt to do it, but its a harder sell to the American people.
