Maybe Someone Should Educate The Democratic MSM

This was shot when then-Gov. Sarah Palin went to Kuwait in 2007 to visit her state’s National Guard troops.

The AP has a story today about Palin. Here’s the opening paragraph [emphasis mine]:

Former U.S. vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, once questioned about her lack of foreign policy experience, will make her first trip to Asia in September.

The last I checked, Kuwait is in…Asia.

It is obvious that to be a “journalist” in the Democratic mainstream media doesn’t require a basic education, especially in geography and history.

    And I’m not exactly a fan of the AP or the MSM.

    However, I do find in terms of common usage that the Middle East appears to have taken upon the characteristics of a separate continent distinct from Asia. That is, people generally don’t think of the Middle East as part of Asia – rather when people think of Asia they think primarily of China, Japan, India etc. – basically starting at Central Asia and Siberia and moving east from there.

    In other words, people would identify Kuwait as part of the Middle East, which they would tend view as different from Asia.

    So in terms of cultural understanding, the sloppiness of the AP reporter seems to be in accord with the common inaccurate definition of Asia that are in the minds of most Americans.

    In other words, a minor error compared to the major violations of journalistic duty that the AP engages in daily. And not a deliberate put down of Palin, as I see it.

    Middle East is part of Asia because when those yutes burn up cars everyday in France the media over there always call the perpetrators Asians and when those “Asians” attack Swedes they are always referenced as such and your mind goes to “I didn’t realize the Chinese were that violent”…heh! Indeed a history lesson for the media would be welcome. I would like them to learn that state run TV is just the beginning of the end for them as history shows that tyrants always kill the elite’s first.
