The Community Organizer BIOB Speech; McDonnell Does Very Well

I don’t normally watch speeches given by Teh Won; I don’t find them all that good or inspiring. But I did this time. The speech definitely wasn’t any good or inspiring. I have to wonder after watching it: does this guy even know what job he has? This wasn’t a speech by a President or Commander in Chief; this was a speech a community organizer would give.

From demagoguery to outright BS, Obama didn’t sound like he had learned anything over the past year as he chastised everyone: banks, corporations, the Supreme Court (while the camera was on the Justices there, Justice Alito seemed to say “not true” during part of the speech), Republicans; but never really criticizing himself or Congressional Democrats. Even when he talked about the deal-making that went into the health “reform” legislation, it wasn’t really criticized. Obama tried to make it seem like he owned up to the mistakes that have led the health “reform” legislation to sit where it is because he hadn’t “explained” it well enough; however, when you add in the context of the speech’s hostile tone, it was as if he was blaming the people for not understanding his “brilliance” and “caring” and blah, blah, blah. There was no “pivot”; it doesn’t seem like Teh Won is going to do anything different from last year.

What wasn’t mentioned by Teh Won is as important as what was. There was nothing about Gitmo. There was nothing about the trials of KSM and the 9/11 terrorists. There was nothing about the Undiebomber. Zip. Nada. Nothing. These are big deals to the American people. But not to a community organizer.

And, of course, he was in full BIOB (Blame It On Bush) mode (as coined by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Sean Hannity’s show following the SOTU). Anyone who participated in any of the drinking games bandying about the blogosphere would have gotten completely sloshed on the Bush-bashing BDS on display.

I liked the speech Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA) gave following the SOTU. Some may think it appeared contrived considering there was an audience. But I think that was a nice touch and allowed McDonnell a chance to interact with the crowd, just as the President gets to do in the SOTU. He nicely hit the Republican talking points, especially the one where Republicans have offered ideas and are not the party of “no”, something Teh Won and his minions in his party and the lame-stream media (but I repeat myself) have ignored the whole time Obama has been President. Plus, he was clear and looked like he was enjoying himself. That’s a big deal.

Hope you don’t have too much of a hangover. I don’t have one; but I can hold my liquor pretty well.

I read the transcript of McDonald’s speech, and thought it was a great alternative view. I’m remembering when Jindahl gave his opposing view in a speech. He was standing at a lecturn, in a quiet low lit room. It wasn’t that what he said was bad, but, after wild applause, and an excited audience for the idiot, it felt like a let down. I’m glad McDonald had an audience to speak to, it beats an uncaring camera lens every time.

Speaking of McDonald, who just took his position 11 days ago, is already being attacked by the state’s Democrats. They are accusing him of using his role as Governor, and the taxes paid by Virginians, to set himself up for the presidency. Their insanity knows no bounds.

      Obama’s lecture was torture.

I like your point about McDonnell being attacked by VA’s Democrats. He’ll probably wear it like a badge of honor; it means he’s gotten under their already thin skin.
