MEMBER DIARY

America, United States of; July 4, 1776 – November 6, 2012; R.I.P.

Constitution, U. S.; September 17, 1787 - November 6, 2012

While it hasn’t happened yet where I live, the sun will come up this morning. But it comes up whether people or countries die. And America, along with the U.S. Constitution, died yesterday.

To all you conservatives who are doubling down on fighting for the GOP, why? Yesterday showed why the GOP is known as the Stupid Party. Now it is the Dead Party. Does anyone honestly think John Boehner as Speaker of the House and Mitch McConnell as Senate Minority Leader will actually fight the Democrats or fight for the Constitution? Puh-leeeeze. These guys only care about winning their own next election (McConnell has to defend his seat in 2014), just like their Democrat counterparts. They are as unconservative as they come. Yet, they will retain their “leadership” positions.

More importantly, Obama has no interest in the Constitution, other than to criminally subvert it as he has done. Subvert it he will. There is nothing Boehner or McConnell can do to stop him, nor will they; and we already know Harry Reid has no intention of preventing Obama’s subversion.

Worse, take a look at the Supreme Court. Scalia and Kennedy are both 76 years old. Chances are good both will retire before Obama is supposed to be out of office. Does anyone in their right mind believe a criminal like Obama has any interest in appointing Justices in the Thomas/Scalia mold? He hasn’t put in anyone like that in the lower courts, with assistance from McConnell. Considering Chief Justice Roberts sold his soul to allow Obamacare to stand, I have no doubt Obama would replace Scalia and Kennedy with those who have no interest in upholding America’s religious rights and allow the contraception/abortifacient mandate to stand. And as with FDR’s Supreme Court appointments, the harm to freedom from more Obama-appointed Justices will get worse as time goes on.

But I reserve my venom to the idiots stupid enough to “re-elect” a hyperpartisan, incompetent thug to another four years (or more) in the White House. As with the Constitution, Obama has shown he has absolutely no interest in governing and only knows how to do two things, win elections and ruling like an emperor. Enough morons bought it. Again. It didn’t make a difference that Obama’s gun control policies killed two federal agents and roughly 300 Mexicans; it didn’t make a difference that Obama’s pro-Islamist policies led to the first death of a U.S. Ambassador in nearly 35 years, along with three other brave Americans; it didn’t make a difference that Obama illegally appointed officials to various positions; it didn’t make a difference that Obama and Democrats forced through a “health” care “plan” the majority of the country hates; it didn’t matter that Obama’s “economic” policies and Bernanke’s monetary policies have done nothing but further harm the financial futures of all Americans; it didn’t matter that Obama lied to thuggishly smear Mitt Romney and half the country; again, enough morons bought Obama’s garbage to get four more years of the same. Despite all the “analysis” from GOP/conservative pundits, I can’t say what Mitt Romney did wrong to lose the election. Logically, Obama was toast. But logic didn’t matter as the 2012 election shows how stupid a majority of American voters are, the morons who voted for Obama and those who didn’t bother to vote for Romney.

What I worry about is a repeat of the terms of office of Obama’s fellow failed past Democrat Presidents. Forget Carter; I’m referring to Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan. With a compliant Congress, these two further divided the United States to such an extent it put the country on the path to the Civil War.

In a reverse paraphrase the “First” Lady, I’ve never been ashamed of this country until now.

R.I.P. U.S. of A. R.I.P. the United States Constitution.

Well said. Honestly I think some pessimism truly is in order today. Many on this blog and in conservatism were drunk with foolish, false optimism not grounded in reality before this race and what good did it do? Here are the facts – we’re on the road to becoming another liberal social democracy like the countries in Europe. The constitution is basically an artifact now – it has no force. If Obama gets more Supreme Court picks, look for the second amendment to be undermined and Citizens United to be reversed as well as other terrible things. Sometimes the news is just bad. The people of this country have lost the appreciation or understanding of the constitution. There’s no use putting lipstick on a pig. The idiotic optimism of Rush and Dick Morris and so many others needs to go out the window – we need to face reality, and it is grim.

Take a deep breath…another….try to clam down! It will be okay…your paranoid fantasies are just that–fantasies. Read the exit polls. People like Obamacare. They don’t like being told what to do in private. You lost. Calling the other side “morons” is not helping. Try to take it like a man. They sun will rise again.

    • http://scipio62.livejournal.com/ scipio62

      Really, moron?

“People like Obamacare. They don’t like being told what to do in private.”

You just proved that you are a moron. Wait until Obamacare allows the government to tell you what to do in private, all in the name of not having to pay for your health care.
I’m taking this as well as Democrats did in 2004 and Obama did in 2012, by getting mean. It obviously works. Otherwise, a no-talent liar like Obama wouldn’t have a job as an elected dog catcher.

Good name-calling! Meanwhile, reality–you must mean the insurance companies telling us who and what they will cover, and when they will stop paying and just how much they will pay. Women and minorities were the difference. Women made an 18 pt difference, and single women went Dem 68 to 30 pct! Why?

Romney, in particular, alienated many female voters by dodging questions about equal pay legislation, pledging to defund Planned Parenthood and overturn Roe v. Wade, and backing legislation that would allow employers to deny women birth control coverage. Plus they are not crazy about a party with a platform, a VP candidate and several senators who think women should be forced to carry a pregnancy even in case of rape and/or incest.

And this is the end of the world to you?

probably the least original troll today. But the day is young so your rating may improve.

        • http://scipio62.livejournal.com/ scipio62

And again you prove you should be, if you aren’t already are, a typical Democrat. You have no idea about how health insurance works. But you will find out when the federal government, who has no business under the Constitution being in the health insurance business, does the same.

“Women made an 18 pt difference, and single women went Dem 68 to 30 pct! Why?”

Simple. Women who vote for Democrats want someone else to pay them to have sex and avoid the repercussions from it. Period. The men who vote for Democrats and have sex with women who vote for Democrats like the freebies as well since they don’t have to take responsibility for any problems that might ensue from the sex (ie., children).

Minorities who vote for Democrats like the goodies Democrats steal for them. Take a look at Obama. We have no idea if he was actually qualified to get into the colleges and universities he got into; it’s very likely he displaced someone much more deserving of that education, regardless of the that someone’s race or gender. We know “Fauxcahontas” Warren got and kept her job as part of affirmative action while she hypocritically became what the rapists of the Occuturds movement call a 1%er.
If you want an actual discussion, come back with real arguments instead of the lies that make up the Democrats’ talking points.

    • APA Guy

“People like Obamacare”. Given the voting tally last night, you may be right. What they WON’T like is what Obamacare does to their lives in a little over a year. These morons think Obamacare is free health care…just like they thought the stimulus was “Obama money” to be given directly to them.

As I said in my diary this morning, the public has ASKED for this. My response? Don’t come crying to me when Obama destroys the country you know and love. I will turn my back on you because you selfishly chose “free” goodies over freedom and prosperity.

  • GremlinJones

What? This is quite the tantrum. The national vote was close, why not direct your hurt feelings into rallying around abolishing the antiquated electoral college? The GOP retains the House, so nothing will get forced through. We lost an election, it happens. Buck up!

    • http://scipio62.livejournal.com/ scipio62

Yeah, holding the House matters. Except that a President who shows zero inkling of following the Constitution for four years will have less reason to follow the Constitution in the next four years.

Where Obama has no choice but to follow the Constitution, I’m of the belief Harry Reid will do away with the 60-vote requirement to end a filibuster. That means that with a simple majority, Obama can pack the Supreme Court with Constitution-hating Democrats like himself who can further wreck the country (if Romney had won and the GOP taken the Senate, I would have urged McConnell to do the same thing regarding the cloture vote).
I hate to break it to you, but we didn’t just lose an election. America re-installed someone who makes Al Capone look like a Boy Scout.

      • GremlinJones

I’m not trying to be obtuse, but what do you mean that Obama hasn’t followed the Constitution? I don’t think Reid has that power, does he?

        • http://scipio62.livejournal.com/ scipio62

“…what do you mean that Obama hasn’t followed the Constitution?”

He installed several appointees, to the CPFB and the NLRB, when Congress was still in session. That is not allowed under the Constitution. On top of his cover-ups of Fast & Furious and the terrorist murders in Benghazi on 9/11/12, Obama should be impeached for making these illegal appointments.

He has had his FCC chairman, another Chicago Democrat criminal (Genachowski), try to regulate the internet when the Supreme Court has already said he couldn’t.

Like the law or not, he has illegally rewritten NCLB when it is the job of Congress to write laws.

He and his EPA are trying to illegally implement a carbon tax without legislation to back it up. That’s a violation of Article I, Section 1 that says only Congress can make laws, and a violation of Article 1, Section 5 that says revenue bills can only be originated in the House.

Those are the things I can think of off the top of my head.

“I don’t think Reid has that power, does he?”

Not by himself. But one of the jobs each House has at the beginning of any two-year session is to agree to the rules for that House. I believe Senate rules state that at the beginning of any session, the Senate can implement rule changes with only a simple majority. Today’s Democrats have lied about filibusters for four years even though they hypocritically used them to stop President Bush’s appointments, especially judicial appointments. So to avoid worrying about Republican filibusters, I can see Democrats making the rule change. The only drawback to Democrats is that they would actually have to vote on their bankrupting legislation instead of blaming Republicans for blocking them.
