Elections Have Consequences; What I’m Doing, What You Can Do

As conservatives, the rule of law is extremely important to us. We need to make sure Democrat voters realize elections have consequences. In my post from last night, I spelled out a strategy where Republicans can let Democrat voters know the consequences of re-electing Barack Obama and increasing the number of Democrats in the U.S. Senate; ignore any calls to increase the debt ceiling. Democrat voters will be confronted with the fact that their government checks aren’t coming, while conservatives can sit back and watch from a distance.

But that isn’t enough. The extremism of today’s Democrats needs to be fought with extremism, albeit an extremism that is legal, something Democrats eschew on a regular basis. Once the 113th Congress begins on January 3, 2013, the Republican majority in the House need to begin working on impeaching Obama (yes, this could lead to Biden replacing him; it’s important to expose Obama’s criminality to the morons that voted for him). We aren’t talking about lying in a deposition about having sex with an intern; Americans have died as a result of Obama’s criminal actions. I’ve written letters to my congressman and the two U.S. Senators from Arkansas to get them to not bring up or vote for bills to increase the debt ceiling, and to begin working on impeaching Obama as soon as the 113th Congress convenes. I would encourage you all to do the same.

Here is the letter:

Elections have consequences, and it’s time Democrat voters learn this. There are two things I believe you need to do, one as part of this session of Congress, and one during the 113th Congress.

I understand the debt ceiling is about to be reached and Democrats (and some Republicans) will be tempted to raise it. Please, please resist this. Under no circumstances should you sponsor or vote for any increase in the debt ceiling. Regardless of the consequences. Barack Obama and the Democrats are responsible for increasing the debt at a greater rate in four years than President George W. Bush did in 8 years and all of the first 42 Presidents combined. And yet, Democrat voters put Obama into office again and increased their majority in the Senate. Now they want to increase the debt ceiling. Resist and tell them to forget it. Don’t sponsor any bill that will raise the debt ceiling, nor vote for any bill that will increase it. Encourage Speaker Boehner to make sure no bills or amendments are passed that would raise the debt ceiling.

As part of the new 113th Congress, the criminality of Barack Obama needs to come to the forefront. There is no reason Republicans shouldn’t do everything they can to impeach him, even if he isn’t convicted in the Senate. He, along with AG Holder, has been involved in covering up Operation Fast & Furious, which has resulted in the deaths of two federal agents and some 300 Mexican citizens in Mexico. He, along with Sec. of State Clinton, has been involved in covering up his role in failing to protect Amb. Chris Stevens and three other brave Americans from being murdered by Islamist terrorists in Benghazi, Libya. And, he willfully and hypocritically violated the Advice and Consent Clause by illegally appointing people to the CPFB and the NLRB while Congress was still in session. I encourage you to sponsor or co-sponsor an impeachment resolution against Barack Obama as soon as the session of the 113th Congress begins, and have Speaker Boehner bring it up for a vote as soon as possible.

I will also be writing Sens. Boozman and Pryor to do the same.

Thank you.

And the Senate would pass it because?

No, the electorate wanted it. Sure, we ought to introduce lots of bills, but abstaining and submitting to the will of the people- that’s what Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Colorado, New Hampshire, Wisconsin and others voted for, and that’s what they ought to get. Sadly it’ll hit Indiana and North Carolina and others too.

All we need to do is have the House pass the impeachment resolution. Then it is up to the Senate to try or not try Obama in that chamber. One consequence is that it will force the Democrat media to report it. Even if the Democrat media distort what’s going on, which they will do just as with the Clinton impeachment, Obama’s criminality will be exposed to the idiots who voted for him. Pressure can then be put on the Senate, even a Democat Senate, to try Obama, further exposing his criminal actions and the hypocrisy of the Democrats and progressivism.

      • commonsenseobserver

And the MSM would twist it into politicizing a national tragedy and endangering national security and whatnot.

        • http://scipio62.livejournal.com/ scipio62

Of course they will. That is expected. But the fact of the matter is that it was Obama who led the U.S. into Libya all by his lonesome, and only for British and French oil, and then let his Ambassador and other Americans get murdered by the same terrorists he is trying to appease. It was Obama who let Holder not clue in the Mexican government regarding Fast & Furious. It was Obama who violated the Constitution to install his cronies at the CPFB and the NLRB. These are indisputable facts, and they will come out, regardless of the lies the Democrat media will attempt to use to thwart impeachment. An impeachment resolution is the perfect method for it to happen.

There is no way we remove the President with what we know now. The House might be able to write up articles…and they may impeach. But we don’t hold the Senate and he will never be removed from office.

Now, if further investigation turns up true, undeniable crimes by Obama…maybe. But we’ll need a lot of spine in the House to push the investigation and I just don’t think we have it.

We mess up with this and we get a trouncing in 2014 that will put us way past square one in terms of reversing a liberal hold on our country. Tuesday was a huge setback as it is.

    • http://scipio62.livejournal.com/ scipio62

I understand your concern, and the potential fallout. But we are dealing with thugs who make it a point to “legally” steal in order to garner votes. They can’t be reasoned with, as was obvious with how Obama ran his campaign. There is only one way to stop a bully like Obama and that is to confront him harder; bringing a tank to a gunfight.
And if we get trounced in 2014, and perhaps 2016, let it happen. The U.S. is at a critical point it has never been in before. Give the Democrats enough rope and let them hang themselves; as I mentioned in the post I linked to, we are becoming Greece very quickly and at some point Democrat voters are not going to get their government checks. All we conservatives need to do is stay out of the way when they realize what their own party did to them; then there will be less Democrat voters (if they are smart, they will become Republican voters; if they aren’t smart, worse things may happen and we just have to stay out of their way).

      • Christine

So, let me make sure I have this right. We should just roll over and let the democrats turn the USA into Greece, and that’s okay because they’ll “realize their mistake”?? And in the meantime, what happens to us? What lives are we setting up for our children??

Are you seeing any signs of Greece coming to their senses? Any sign that countries with universal health care are shouting “we should never have done this”? NO. When a socialist program doesn’t work, the answer is more regulation, more government. If a democrat voter has been getting government checks and suddenly stops getting them, they won’t have a realization that they should have been working harder and earning their own keep…they’ll demand their money, cry racism or whatever -ism makes sense. We may even see riots as other countries have.

Your answer makes no sense if the goal is to have America still America when we’re done.

And again – we should not impeach unless we have die-hard evidence. We need a serious investigation. That should be the House’s first 2013 action.

WOW. Talk about out to lunch. Any malfeasance by Obama, any deriliction of duty in protecting Ambassadors is a crying shame and should be called out but he will never be impeached for it. Nor should he, any more than Bush would be impeached for 9/11 or Clinton for Khobar towers. Get real.

THE REAL ISSUE NEXT YEAR IS THE FISCAL CLIFF. GET READY FOR THE BUDGET WRANGLE.

Romney campaigned on a tax reform proposal similar to Simpson-Bowles, to trade off loophole closures for lower rates, an approach not too different from the
Reagan-Gephardt approach of 1986. it is based on wisdom we’ve
learned from Reagan’s success as well as other tax rate cut successes
worldwide: Lower tax rates are far more efficient economically than
    higher tax rates.

We have the massive deficit thanks to Obama and the Democrats increasing spending from $2.7 trillion in FY 2007 to $3.8 trillion in FY2011, and keeping it high and going higher under Obama’s plans. Over-spending is the cause of the large deficit, as Federal spending is higher under Obama is higher as %age of GDP than any prior peacetime period. Obama and the Democrats passed large tax increases in Obamacare with 21 new taxes and the imposition of an expensive mandate that will
hit millions in the middle class. This, plus expensive mandates on business, will hit us real soon.

Obama’s tax increases, plus his massive deficits, larger than any
prior deficits, is a toxic combination for our economy, and you wont fix
any of it with simplistic tax-the-rich BS that will cost us more in
lost economic activity than it gains in revenue.

Bush tax cuts were for ALL taxpayers and of course they should be
extended all, if we dont want a recession next year from this ‘fiscal
cliff’ of tax hikes. Repeal Obamacare and the Obamacare tax increases,
then cutting the trillions in over-spending that Obama has in his budget
would be the first step to getting us back on track. If the Democrats
refuse to do what will help the economy, the continued economic slow
growth we are suffering from is on them.

THE ABOVE IS THE MESSAGE AND THE ISSUE WE NEED TO BE FOCUSSING ON.

    • commonsenseobserver

      Let ‘em own it fully.

Give them all the spending and taxes they want. The sequester too. Go right over the fiscal cliff, and the subsequent debt tsunami. That’s what the electorate voted for, knowingly or not.

      • http://travismonitor.blogspot.com Freedoms Truth

No, that’s dumb. Why are Republicans so dumb like this? When the Democrats lose they dont suck their thumb in a corner, they say “the people were wrong” and go fight just as hard for their stuff as ever. They filibustered Bush all the time, they shut down the House. they even held mock hearings.

Boehner was right to say that he has a mandate too. Gingrich advocated same approach. Boehner and crew need to lay it down: No tax increase and no debt ceiling increase without a real budget plan to CUT THE SPENDING.

        • http://scipio62.livejournal.com/ scipio62

I agree with what you say, except for the part about increasing the debt ceiling. It shouldn’t be raised at all. Period. Democrat voters need to know they own Obama’s debt and it is they and the jerks they voted for who are going to have to pay for it.

        • APA Guy

No, what is dumb is allowing the idiots who voted this guy in to skirt the consequences of their decisions. It’s like allowing a kid to spend his allowance money the first day he gets it…then giving him more money because he’s broke.

Here is how I predict allowing us to go off the cliff would play out:

EVERYONE’S taxes go up…immediately. The pain is felt by every taxpayer and business owner. As spending cuts take hold and unemployment assistance dries up, those riding the gravy train who thought they were voting more gravy into office now have to (gasp!) get off their butts and work.

After a few months, the public will be so discontented with the disgrace they returned to the White House and Senate they won’t even be able to spell the word abortion. They’ll finally understand what Obama’s economic plan means for THEIR LIVES…and that “taxes for the rich” meant SQUAT in the end.

LET THE VOTING PUBLIC LEARN A LESSON. My quarter says after that, Obama will either cave and agree to a multi-year extension of the Bush tax cuts and the spending cuts we want or the Democrat Party will crash and burn…never to return…because this time, he won’t be able to blame Bush…HE’LL OWN IT.

That’s how I see it, anyway.

        • rabun1016

Actually they didn’t filibuster, since going back to the Dole days, all you had to do was file a notice of filibuster, and that did the trick. I believe the last real filibuster was by DAmato in maybe early 90s. So, we made it convenient for them, and gave Daschle a layup on continuing that practice.

    • http://scipio62.livejournal.com/ scipio62

As has been said, it’s not the crime but the cover up. I agree that Obama shouldn’t be impeached for his dereliction of duty on 9/11/2012. But covering up his and his regime’s role, which he has done for two months, is very much an impeachable offense.
As far as not saying “No” to a debt ceiling increase, get real. Democrats have no interest in listening to anything sensible passed by the Republican-majority House. Democrats are more interested in their ideology than what’s needed for the country. Better to let the debt ceiling stand as is and let Democrat voters and the jerks they voted for suffer the consequences. All we conservatives need to do is stay out of their way and let them feed on each other.
