The end of America? Terence Corcoran at FP asks…

This guy writes, very eloquently, what I’ve been thinking lately. His piece at Financial Times is rather frightening and I share his concerns. He doesn’t offer much in the way of a solution though. Frankly, I don’t see the Democrats holding onto Congress after 2010. The only thing that can save us is our ability to vote these economic terrorists out of Congress and put Obama on notice that he is NOT free to “change” every aspect of our nation, government, and lives.

I’d paste his whole piece here, but of course that wouldn’t be kosher. I encourage my friends at Redstate to read it and comment. Here’s a little teaser:

“Reform of health care, environmental policy, education, energy, banking, regulation — every nook and cranny of the U.S. economy has been put on alert for major change. Expansion of government spending, plunging the U.S. into unprecedented deficits, is without parallel. In economic policy, through regulation and control of energy output, financial services and monetary expansion, the U.S. government has embarked on a fundamental reshaping of America. It is designed, in short, to bring on the end of America.”

You can read the entire article here: http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/fpcomment/archive/2009/03/19/terence-corcoran-is-this-the-end-of-america.aspx

I can just hear the Republican theme for 2010 or 2012, “It’s the economy, stupid!”

Either way you stack it that’s a hell of a lot of payday loans.

Ought this not be the Republican rallying cry to the Republic?

Today I attended with one of my eight year old sons (I’m blessed with three) the Lincoln Day Luncheon in Mesa, AZ. Congressman Jeff Flake addressed us. Phenomenal speaker and great presence. He said he heard House Republicans actually saying, re the Bill of Attainder they helped pass, “we have to do something, even if it means ignoring the Constitution.”

We will continue to lose as long as we remain an echo of the Dems rather than a clear choice.

About 6,000 well-meaning fed-up folks turned out today in Orlando for a Tea Party. Imagine if we could get all of them to become active Precinct Committeemen?

I can not believe this statement was uttered ?we have to do something, even if it means ignoring the Constitution.? When policians start making these statements the Constitution can be completely ignored PERIOD. Unbelievable, thanks for bringing this to my attention, it is a shame this give me no hope for the relevancy of our constitution in say 4 years.

I’m more worried about the loss of our liberties and freedoms than the economy. Once we lose those, can we ever regain them? Economies come and go. Where is the next “new world” for us to escape to, explore, and conquer?

and a very important one too.

No kidding. Indeed, Jeff Flake said something along the lines of , “I’m not making this up, I actually hear members of the House saying, ‘we have to ignore the Constitution.’”

The really sad thing is that many REPUBLICANS voted for the Bill of Attainder.
