Someone must have slipped Thad Cochran some geritol and metamucil. He’s decided to throw some rhetorical punches at state senator Chris McDaniel. Cochran calls McDaniel an “extremist” and “dangerous.” Mind you, Cochran has previously admitted he only knows about the tea party from what he reads in the paper. Perhaps Cochran is only reading the Democrat run Clarion-Ledger in Mississippi. Actually, considering he does not | Read More »
Word has gotten out in Central American publications that anyone who wants to drop their poverty off on America’s doorstep will be accommodated. Those rumors were well founded. I’m sure the Framers had this in mind when they gave Congress the power of the purse. At a time when Americans are languishing from a stagnating economy and crushing debt, the Senate Appropriations subcommittee on Labor-HHS | Read More »
Today, in a victory for the Constitution and common sense, a proposal to limit the number of people you are allowed to have in the privacy of your own home was shelved by local officials.

Eric Cantor has released the summer legislative agenda for the House and it is as notable for what is not on it as what it includes: Majority Leader Eric Cantor laid out a busy legislative agenda for the remainder of June in a memo to House Republicans sent Friday, scheduling floor time to address issues at the Department of Veterans Affairs, three appropriations bills, three | Read More »
If you are anything close to a foodie, you know you have to buy imported parmesan cheese to get a good parmesan flavor. American cheeses like parmesan must be pasteurized to be sold in interstate commerce. The flavor is much saltier without the good tangy taste of an unpasteurized parmesan. But, humorously, imported unpasteurized parmesan and other cheeses are available. There is a noticeable difference | Read More »
So, online gambling. Right now there are two major pushes going on to get new legislation related to online gambling. Neither is a small government position, and I oppose them both. Most everyone is familiar with the infamous Operation Fast and Furious wherein the boneheaded Obama Justice Department decided along with the equally boneheaded Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives that letting people buy weapons illegally and transfer them to Mexican narco-cartels was just a jim-dandy way of generating public outrage at gun ownership. Now we’re seeing another phase of this come to light. The | Read More »
