By: Brian Simpson (Diary) | October 28th at 11:07 AM |
The health care issue is set to be one of the most important issues in the next four years if the rhetoric coming from both sides is to be believed. (I question whether it really be. Remember Social Security in 2000. We’ve done a great job on that in the last eight years.) Here is a cornucopia of information that you can use to arm | Read More »
Who Needs ACORN When You Can Do It Yourself
By: Brian Simpson (Diary) | October 27th at 08:17 PM |
The Obama/Biden campaign has been extremely proud of the get out the vote organization that they have created. I haven’t seen any actual numbers, but I’m certain that they have been pushing for new voter registration just like ACORN. So, to no real surprise, they are having the same problems as ACORN: Rich Chrismer, the St. Charles County elections director, says his office last week | Read More »

He has made this claim yet again in a blog entitled “I’m Tommy the Elitist”.Therefore he says that they should pay more in taxes, their “fair | Read More »

Senator Obama Isn’t Serious About Social Security Reform
By: Brian Simpson (Diary) | October 18th at 02:42 PM |
Ask any economist and many of the politicians and those that pay attention on the right what they say is the single biggest problem facing this country. The answer will likely be the unfunded liabilities of the federal government’s entitlement programs of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Serious action needs to be taken now to keep those three programs from swallowing the entirety of the | Read More »

By: Brian Simpson (Diary) | October 8th at 12:55 PM |
Former Senator Peter Fitzgerald(R-IL) is out campaigning for Senator John McCain. He is the man that Senator Obama replaced in the U.S. Senate. They also served together in the Illinois legislature. From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Political Fix blog: He noted that Obama’s political mentor is a Chicago powerbroker, state Senate President Emil Jones. He suggested that Obama’s sponsorship of ethics legislation while in the | Read More »

By: Brian Simpson (Diary) | October 4th at 09:11 PM |
Republican candidate Kenny Hulshof has been badly trailing Democrat candidate Jay Nixon for the entire campaign season. Nixon started the season with a considerable advantage following a bitterly contested Republican primary between Hulshof and State Treasurer Sarah Steelman. Since the repeal of Missouri’s campaign finance law restricting contributions, Nixon has continued his fund raising advantage. He has collected $3.3 million in large sized contributions (those | Read More »

By: Brian Simpson (Diary) | October 4th at 08:27 PM |
At the debate on Thursday night between Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin, Senator Biden made this claim about the McCain health care plan to offer a $5,000 refundable tax credit: You know how John McCain pays for his $5,000 tax credit you’re going to get, a family will get? Seeing Russia From Alaska
By: Brian Simpson (Diary) | September 20th at 02:20 PM |
Have you ever played the Telephone Game? You pass a phrase on from person to person eventually winding up with the phrase being told to the person who started it. By the time the message gets back to the person it usually barely resembles the original. Such is the case with Palin’s “quote” about seeing Russia from her back yard. Ann Althouse links to this | Read More »

Because Democrat Bill Haas doesn’t seem to. He’s airing an ad on local radio station KTRS. In the ad he attacks Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Last I checked his opponent was Congressman Todd Aiken. He hits Palin on the Bridge to Nowhere. He uses a line reminiscent of the one that has been used on Rudy Giuliani. He says that “a noun, a verb and | Read More »

Amir Taheri broke the news the other day that Senator Obama tried to delay an agreement on the troop levels in Iraq. This brought up the question of “Did Obama violate the Logan Act?”. As I stated the other day, Obama’s clearest defense of the Logan Act would be to claim that he was under the authority of the State Department (a highly dubious outcome). | Read More »
