The Kansas City Star is reporting that more than a dozen counties in Missouri have more registered voters than they have adults. This is a phenomenon that we have seen across the country as state after state has failed to properly manage it’s voter rolls. Because Democrat Bill Haas doesn’t seem to. He’s airing an ad on local radio station KTRS. In the ad he attacks Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Last I checked his opponent was Congressman Todd Aiken. Republican gubernatorial candidate Kenny Hulshof (current U.S. House of Representative from MO-09) unveiled his education plan today. Republican gubernatorial candidate Kenny Hulshof said Missouri has a problem. The state ranks 47th in expenditures for higher education. We hit Kay Barnes (Democrat candidate for Missouri’s 6th Congressional District) over her inability to recall what the price of a gallon of gas was in here district.
Sarah Steelman and Kenny Hulshof met for their final debate before next month’s primary. The debate was hosted by KY3, a Springfield, MO NBC affiliate. GOP Gubernatorial candidates Sarah Steelman and Kenny Hulshof debated today on KMOX’s Mark Reardon Show. You can find audio of the debate on the show’s website. I’ll include a few of my own comments at the end along with a few other items of interest.
Two organizations have announced endorsements in Missouri ahead of the upcoming primary on August 85th. Both Missouri Right to Life and Club for Growth PAC issued statements today.
Today was campaign finance filing day in MO and all three candidates released their numbers. There is a lot of bad news in here for the Republicans.

Since the surprise announcement by Missouri Governor Matt Blunt that he would not seek re-election, the race for the GOP nomination has been anything but ordinary. The two candidates are U.S. Representative Kenny Hulshof (MO-09) and Missouri State Treasurer Sarah Steelman. A local blog, the Relevant Elephant, has conducted interviews with both candidates.
