‘Mainstream’ Propaganda Doesn’t Work Any More – Truth Reigns Supreme.

They don’t like it. They don’t really understand it either or they wouldn’t do and say the things they do. The ‘lamestream’ or ‘fringe’ media as we sometimes call them, are being increasingly marginalized by the nearly instantaneous transfer of information available to the average person at his or her computer keyboard today.

Back in the day when virtually the entire hard news output was controlled by major print media and the three large television networks, NBC, CBS and ABC, there was a virtual lock on opinions voiced outside of these increasingly politicized outlets. With a decidedly left-leaning message, Americans were hammered for decades with decidedly one-sided messages. What conservative voices there were on the right were marginalized and diminished as being eccentrics and somehow outside the norm of American politics.

The increasing preeminence of leftist thought in our journalism schools had really begun to be felt in the late 60’s and 70’s when I had returned from military service and entered college. The anti-war movement was in full bloom and the left’s grip on academia was pronounced. As a journalism student I had numerous clashes with professors or grad students objecting to the the conservative slant of many of my pieces. This didn’t do a heck of a lot for my grades in those classes, but even then I was stubbornly defending my position and pointing out the fallacy of the liberal Utopian redistribution of wealth model. As you can well imagine, I took a lot of heat for speaking my mind and standing up for conservative principles.

With the advent of conservative talk radio and the personal computer came a sea-change in the public’s access to varied points of view. The so-called ‘mainstream’ press, both print and television, had dominated the landscape for so long that they had taken a paternalistic attitude that the American people really didn’t know any better. We had to have our ‘betters’ interpret for us. Along with the information revolution came the ability of America and the world to access information from thousands of sources instantaneously.

America had not been sufficiently dumbed down despite the left’s best efforts. We began to see the fallacy and the inaccuracies in what the left was saying. We saw lies and stories created out of whole cloth to support their socialist aims. Furthermore, we clearly saw the symbiosis between the leftist press and their political allies in the Democrat party and in the entrenched Washington bureaucracies. We began to talk to each other and exchange ideas. Not necessarily the ideas of our own party leadership either, for we had found them wanting. We came together through our new-found information freedom fountain as never before. The Conservative revolution was born. The country awoke and its people felt the resurgence of hope that was birthed with the adoption of the greatest document in history, the United States Constitution, on March 4, 1789.

We now re-dedicate ourselves to the ideals of the Constitution and the principles of truth, freedom and individual responsibility that has made America the greatest country in history.

and I use it all the time because I want it to infiltrate the brains of those I am speaking with. I want people to think of the leftist media as being outside the mainstream because the fact of the matter is they are!

Back in the 1930′s FDR could get away with socialising the nation because people got their news from Newspapers mostly, and radio. People were, at that time relatively unsophisticated and programed to be trusting and deferential to those who were deemed to be experts. So they tended to trust the media. Nearly ALL media at that time was totally in the tank for FDR. They didn’t even let people know how sick he was.

Later, in the Kennedy years it grew even WORSE. Many independent newspapers had been absorbed and most people were getting their news form television which was totally left wing. They conspired to cover up Kennedy’s peccadilloes. They only turned against the democratic party temporarily during the Vietnam war.

They still operate like they have a lock on public opinion. But today is SO different than before. People are much more cynical and untrusting of talking heads and so called experts. There are now so many different places to get information, and more important places to check the veracity of information.

The left will NEVER have the same power they had before.

100 years ago the elected Politician was forced (Oh NOOO!) to ride the same train as his voters to get back to his district from DC. They had to actually sit there for hours listening to voters give them an ear full and this was before they actually got to home. Today these elected Elites, fly in private jets and never have to interact with their voters, but will ask them for money so they can stay elected.
With the explosion of CSPAN, Blogs, camera Phones… what these Reps of the people see is how and what they actually stand for, not what their handelers/spinners say they stand for. We clearly see what they say, how they vote and who they party with, and just like the MSM , they do not like it.
Imagine having to actually allow everyday voters into your home after you have won an election. Now you might get a glimpse of them at the Ballroom of a 5 star Hotel before they are off to be with their real friends–lobbiests, staff and MSM buddies.
What has happened to America; Media has to actually defend what they report and provide sources, this is treason. Americans should just let Reporters tell them what is important, how to vote, who to give money to and when to do it.
The lemmings are turning into sharks and the sharks do not like it!

… and that’s something most people have an idea how to handle.

People are walking away from traditional news sources and big newspapers* because they can no longer trust what they’re hearing – instead they’re going online and to social networks. Word-of-mouth news.

Ironically, the market is just about ready for a rebirth of traditional “just the facts” 4-W reporting. Who, What, When, and Where. Period. It’s technically feasible now, but there’s not a good way to handle pay-for-service just yet, but it’s the next step.

    * Large newspapers, LA Times, Chicago Trib, New York Times, are dropping subscribers like Gov. Blagojevich dropped supporters, but smaller neighborhood or town papers – i.e. local-local-local – are doing okay….

30,000,000 hits on Google (known to have a left bias)

Search results as of today for “climategate.”

Leftist media and press are Still pushing the so-what aspect of this biggest scandal in science, ever.

If anyone still doubted the lack of integrity in the so-called MSM, this will prove it.

For weeks, I’ve been asking my family, etc. if they’ve seen/heard anything on tv or anywhere else about this scandal. Until I’ve told them, they haven’t known anything about it. (They’re a bunch of K.A. drinkers).

What infuriates me is that there is no excuse to be ill-informed. What is tragic is that all my life I couldn’t understand how a monster like Hitler could be lawfully elected by a modern civilized nation. That mystery has been solved, for me.

Those words spoken by Joseph Goebel’s, Hitler’s propaganda chief are alive and well in our culture toda,y and I believe will eventually lead to another world disaster. I say that with regret, but I do not believe this generation will wake up and demand the real change and take back our Constitution. It doesn’t mean we should give up the fight. The same faith our founders had in the God of all creation is our hope for the future if we remain steadfast.

  • redneck_hippie

The shredding of our constitution is leading down a dire path. It is up to us, God willing, to stop the madness.

  • tazzmax

that’s a great article and it sure does make a lot of sense!

IMO, the pendulem has changed and thank G*d for the “net, blogs, WND, News Max, etc.

No longer can the scumbag pols., and corporate propagandists spread their lies with impunity, because they know they will be exposed.

was spreading it thick & heavy on FOX today

    http://fns.blogs.foxnews.com/2009/12/06/durbin-skeptical-of-presidents-plan/

“I’m skeptical as to whether 30,000 more troops will make a difference. We have over 200,000 now when you count NATO forces, American forces and Afghan military forces. But I think at this point the president is moving forward,” Durbin told Chris Wallace, on FOX News Sunday.

As President Obama heads to Copenhagen for climate talks this week, cap and trade legislation remains stalled in Washington. Durbin argued the bill is a job creator, saying, “If we ignore it, put our head in the sand, we’re going to find countries like China leap-frogging us, moving forward. That’s going to create jobs for China, but not for America.”

I think little dickey Turbin has it all wrong……
IF the USA does impose Cap & Trade here then CHINA will crush us…what part of this does little Dickey Turbin not get?
Oh yeah – he is a raging socialist and when the US does poorly – it raises his stock.

was a lot of nasty names and some that rhyme with your words. I cannot say them, because I would shock myself, let alone RS.

I cringe when they get on FOX, and pretend they are not driving this country over a cliff. Can’t others besides us, hear the lies? “Job creator” he ought to check in with Spain, who for every government created green job, lost 2.2 regular jobs. Also, noted was that only “one in ten of those green jobs, became permanent.”

My wife wanted to know what I was cussing at when I was watching little Dickey Turbin…..

And I call him Little Dick Turbin because he is probably an honorary member of Al Qaeda

Per Spansih professor on FOX earlier this year, Spain boasts an 18% unemployment rate after years of pursuing a green industry. As Glenn Beck put it, it’s economic slavery. But you see they have to sell it somehow. What gets me is how during this time of internet and alternative media, why healthcare and climate change reforms are being successfully propped up when the results in Europe have been so bad. How can they successfully argue universal healthcare and enough Americans believe them to keep it moving forward?
