MEMBER DIARY

Republicans Fail In Budget Wars… No Leadership, No Courage.

If that sounds harsh then perhaps the Republican leadership should look really closely at themselves and ask themselves just exactly who they’re working for, because right now, quite frankly, they’re not looking all that hot.

Sixty billion is the figure being cast about as the spending reductions for this budget. Another thirty billion was proposed but was not taken up by Republicans, for some unknown reason. I’ve really been concerned about what I perceive to be a demarcation in the party between the ‘old’ party members and the new conservatives.

As a quick for instance… look at good old reliable John McCain… now that he’s won re-election for another six years, we the American people, and especially his constituents, can collectively go to hell as he reverts to type. He nearly got whiplash running to kiss Barack Obama’s butt. Then he has the nerve to tell us that he ‘thinks he can work’ with Obama.

We seem to remember John working with ‘others’. They called it the gang of fourteen… they called it the McCain-Feingold assault on the First Amendment… they called it the Illegal Amnesty Act. Remember? I sure do. John hasn’t wasted any time either. He’s got his pet amnesty act out again and he’s dusting it off.

John’s just one guy, but he’s not alone. I’ve said this before… the times are past where Conservatives can afford to be burdened with wishy-washy moderate ‘Republicans’ who run into accommodation mode at the very first sign of a fight.

Sixty billion? A hundred billion? That’s a joke, right? We’re upside down 1.7 trillion dollars this year alone, and we’re dabbling with a hundred billion in ‘proposed’ cuts! We’re sick of the timidity and the outright cowardice shown by the Repubic leadership. If we get any more disappointed, that whole mess may be out of a job. So far, the only ones who have remained faithful to the mandate of the voters are the Patriot Tea Party freshmen. That says worlds about the party leadership.

It’s a little like what just occurred on the House floor. We thought we were sending tiger sharks in there to shred the unbelievably irresponsible spending of this government. Instead, we get these timid little mice nibbling away at the fringes of that megalithic monstrosity, the house that Obama built.

I’m afraid there are going to need to be more serious changes in the Republican Party if we are to succeed in saving the country. 2012 is going to be another watershed… but what will be shed will be the timid, the weak, the lame and the lazy.
We warned them.

      $233,400,000 here http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2011-75

Only freshman congressman Reid Ribble voted yes to defund the NLRB of the WI GOP
It might have looked better for Gov. Walker if other WI GOP had voted yes along with Reid.

it looks as if Republican Arizona congressmen are taking turns “not voting” to balance out Rep. Gifford’s “not vote.” I’ll ask Rep. Gosar about it tonight if I get the chance.

We didn’t send him to Congress for balance, we sent him to win. So far, his budget votes have been just right.

but I THINK the 2 numbers are from different budgets. The $60 Billion the Republicans are proposing are from the continuing resolution that replaces the budget the Democrats didn’t pass last year. Obama’s monstrosity hasn’t even been BEGUN to be dissected yet.

One thing that is CLEAR. The Republicans had better take their cues from Gov. Christie and Walker and make some real budget changes or they WILL be removed from office. We can’t win by doing business as usual.

That means they’ll have to start hacking away at entitlements and military spending as well.

So that the ‘surplus’ can be used to reduce our standing debt. Even if that happened, it would be many years before our Country was debt free again.

  • johnconradarens

A measly additional $22 Billion out of a $3,455,000,000,000 budget? That’s like saying you need to cut family monthly expenditures from $3,000 all the way down to $2981.10 (a whopping $18.90) and not being able to find it?? Stop buying three McDonalds meals each month, for God’s sake!

What the heck is wrong with these people?? Didn’t they PLEDGE to cut $100 billion? Or was that in some super-secret code us reg-lar folk don’t understand?

These people have no shame or self respect.

    is a failure to communicate.

clearly our friends in congress didn’t get the memo. the one dated nov.2.
our non-friends did. they are flipping out ALL over the freaking country, especially in madison, wisconsin.

so as a consequence, and in view of the reality that our countrys’ future is, quite literally, at stake. i edward spencer do solemnly swear to do all i can to kick the cowardly jackasses out on the street where they can commiserate with the damn commies in madison.

yes they will join the list of vanquished fools who refused to see, or were too stupid to see, that we are GD serious (please forgive the GD jesus)

on monday, march 7, in horry county, SC, we will be electing committeemen. i will be there.
if i get the chance, i will call to the attention of my peers the great ignorance and foolish arrogance of our congressional leaders.

if we all do this then they will learn, because we will teach them, what fear is.

the memo will be resent in nov. 2012.

about this group in Washington. Most voted them in to stop Obama’s agenda. Any thing to stop and maybe push back some before 2012. Come 2012 we have one of three outcomes:
Things have gotten better and Obama/Dem’s pulls off an upset. Not Likely.
Things stay the same but Obama eeks out a win with Rep’s having large majority’s. Possibile, but would leave the country in a state of political unrest until 2016.
Things stay the same or get worse. Obama is out and Rep’s have possible super majorities in the House and Senate plus POTUS. Far more likely but still in flux.

Also remember that their side is not against using violence against us. So short of out right Civil War, we should turn the other check, over and over again. Each time they physically hit us and Don’t physically hit them back, wegain more of those that are undecided and they lose more of their less steadfast. This is a battle for the hear, soul, and minds of our nation.
