MEMBER DIARY

Run, Chris, Run.

We’re hearing a battery of bleats out there about Governor Chris Christie as a possible presidential candidate. And were it based only on the tough choices he has forced his state to confront, and the skill with which he’s stood up to his state’s unions and their rent-a-goons, you’d have to say that he might just be a good choice if he could be convinced to run. That’s if you didn’t look any farther… I did, as have some other people.

If you look at what Christie has said on some very key issues for Conservatives, the luster starts to dull. He has stated that he wants to see ‘A Pathway To Citizenship’ for illegal immigrants. Sounds a little like our erstwhile presidential candidate, doesn’t it?

Even more troubling for Conservatives will be the Governor’s view of the Second Amendment. It won’t take much more research than to look up Christie’s 1995 anti-gun ad campaign during his run for State Assembly. That would do it for most Patriot gunners right there, I’m sure.

The final nail in Chris Cristie’s presidential aspirations should be his espousal of ‘green energy’, which is scarily reminiscent of The Anointed One’s assault on domestic energy production, and the coal industry in particular.

So it would seem that for all Mr. Christie’s accomplishments in reigning in New Jersey’s wild excesses… he is, in fact, another Republican In Name Only. It is my firm belief that this country cannot survive with a moderate RINO at the helm.

Keep your eyes and ears wide open. Don’t let the LSM (lame stream media) or the establishment Repubics foist more phony candidates on us. They both like to use the same means to different ends.

The way I read it, the establishment old guard aren’t even that adverse to losing an election, as long as it maintains them in their ‘comfort zone’… which then logically and tragically becomes our discomfort zone.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely New Jersey Voters finds Obama capturing 49% of the vote, while Christie earns 44% support. Five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and three percent (3%) are undecided

Perfect R for the Northeast, and I would love to have them as a senator once they have finished their executive service. For the National ticket? Pass. And I do love what Christie has been doing taking on the unions, and I suspect a lot of his other non-fiscal positions are more of political reality in NJ than him holding firm to them – still I’ll pass for P or VP. I love that he’s on our team and is a very valuable member of it.

Best thing Christie can do is fix NJ and show them that conservatism is better than liberalism for his 2 terms and then send him to the Senate.

And, at that, both Brown and Christie are no done deals for re-election.

people get upset by them not being conservative enough and my response is that we need to replace D senators in red states and they won’t have to worry about them.

People keep bouncing in here and screaming that we need to primary the ME Girls and Brown & I keep asking who they suggest run against them. I’ve yet to get an answer.

I’d much rather replace Lugar and Hatch than Brown and Snowe. And we actually have candidates to do the former.

Don’t forget, Kennebunkport was the center of the Republican universe in New England for a while…

Ben Nelson, Bill Nelson, Tester, ND open seat, Manchin, WI open seat, VA open seat, NM open seat, McCaskill, Brown (OH), Casey (PA) – I’d rather concentrate energies on these races, and then focus on R’s in solid red states like ‘becker mentioned such as Lugar and Hatch this year.

Then start planning for 2014 – Begich, Landrieu, Pryor, Udall x 2, Harkin, Baucus, Shaheen, Hagan, Johnson, Warner, Rockerfeller for the Dems and Saxby, Lindsey, Lamar and maybe even Cornyn on the R side.

Take every single one of those races and then I’ll back going after the Maine girls.

Much like all the help that went to Christine O’Donnell last year could have gone to Angle and Buck and others (don’t get me wrong again here, I would have voted for her over Castle and then Coons, but it was a wasted effort nationally)
