Kirsten Powers embarasses herself in today’s NYPost

We proofread for a reason, Kirsten...

In this article in today’s NYPost, Democrat Kirsten Powers calls the netroots “dumb” for obsessing on FISA. She opens her critique with this paragraph:

ASK passers-by on any street in America what their top issue is for the upcoming presidential election, and they’ll all answer the same thing: the Foreign Service Intelligence Act.

Powers complains about the “extreme lack of self-awareness on left-wing activists’ part.” The online version of the Post article contains a picture of Markos—presumably the activist who most fully personifies the self-absorption and detachment from reality that frustrates Powers so much that she was moved to write about it.

Something tells me Markos is going to have a bit of fun with Kristen over this.

Ladies and gentlemen, the smoking and schadenfreude lamps are lit.

I followed the link and read the entire article. Powers was pretty much right, and pretty good, not embarrassing, until she got into page 2. She may even have been right there, but I didn’t care enough to try to absorb her wisdom.

For those who don’t link, she followed her first few paragraphs with

Don’t believe it? Then – unlike many left-wing bloggers and activists, known as the “net roots” – you’re in touch with reality.

She as much as called the netroots “nutroots.”

Not something to be embarrassed about.

She called it the Foreign Service Intelligence Act — Not FISA, but FSIA.

The Foreign Service Intelligence Act sounds like legislation designed to identify and quantify Joe Wilson’s IQ.

i just dugg that story with a subtitle “Powers may not realize the power she unleashed when she jumped on The Kos…”

        Such fun.

        best! Kay

Missed that point completely. Sometimes I just fly at 50,000 feet and miss the road signs.

Is attributing comments to the wrong user a bug of RS 3.0?
Or did someone briefly usurp my account?

How did it appear under my name?

or one of the other techies.

They can correct the attribution. They say the bug that caused it is already fixed.

As for the above comment, I’ve cleared out the author until we know who wrote it, as the author of this one had no email address in his profile to let me track down the real author.

          • Neil_Stevens

Unfortunately I couldn’t automatically repair all the comments that got caught by the bug, so as people find the last ones we’ll fix them manually.

I have fixed the comment above, I hope. :-)

in her criticism of the extreme left net community if she admitted that they were behind BHO in the first place mainly due to his espoused positions that he has since reversed or moderated. Reversed or moderated, we know, not to compromise or find “unity” but to start wooing those in the middle and right-leaning rooms in the dem dorm now that the lefties have fulfilled his need for Hillary bashing clubs. He now needs to swing over to the side of the light just enough to help the soccer moms see his gloriousness and fall at his feet and worship. The old worshipers are done, and can be cast on the altar as a sacrifice to the great O.
