LOTS of new Democratic Voters Show up in AZ—What A Coinky-Dink!

This is an unsurprising development in the southern Arizona congressional races—CD7 (McClung V Grijalva) and CD8 (Giffords V Kelly).

I realize this may not qualify as original research, but I wanted to make sure people knew about this.

The Yuma Sun is reporting that two organizations — Mi Familia Vota and One Vote Arizona — submitted more than 3000 voter registrations in Yuma County, and more than 20,000 voters statewide. Even more, they have signed up 43,000 people statewide for the permanent early voter list.

What they didn’t tell you is that voter fraud on a massive scale could be taking place, ostensibly to help Raul Grijalva keep the congressional seat he holds by stealing the election.

Here’s what the article doesn’t tell you, by a source in the Yuma County Recorder’s Office:

» These 3000 voter registration forms were all dropped off at once by the one group on the deadline to turn in voter registration forms.
» Almost all of the registrations were for the Democratic Party, a statistical improbability at best.
» Today, these same 3000 newly registered voters — as a group — had papers dropped off at the Yuma Recorder’s office requesting to be signed up for the permanent early voters list… which means the ballots will be mailed early, with no accountability.
» The Yuma Recorder’s office is checking the voter registration forms and have found that already more than 65% of them are invalid due to the registrant not being a citizen, wrong/invalid address, false signature, etc.

Now, the question is: is voter fraud taking place in Yuma County… and is it taking place on an even bigger scale in Pima County?

Yuma County is entirely within Grijalva’s district; Pima County covers both Grijalva and Giffords’ districts.

There’s been little reporting on this in the Tucson media. (A very Democrat-friendly media, btw). But, it did just break over the weekend.

A rumor I’m hearing is that reporters at the Tucson CBS affiliate, KGUN9, want to follow this story…but their editors are resisting. Coinky-dink? I doubt it.

“Three Sonorans,” a progressive blogger at TucsonCitizen.com has responded by claiming that Arizona Hispanics are so mad at SB1070 and its supporters that they’re voting monolithically Democrat this year. THAT explains why virtually ALL of 3000+ voter registration applications, collected by a “non-partisan” voter outreach group, are for the Democrats. Not Republicans, not Independents…Democrats. Yet another coinky-dink.

I’m hoping that someone can follow this story as it breaks. The concern among southern Arizona conservatives is that the local media will starve this story of oxygen…at least until Wednesday 3 November.

I would suggest the Republicans get on this with everything they have. Calls to Hannity, Limbaugh, and Beck would be good. There is little time to waste here. We know the Dems are giong to try to steal the elections; they will use illegals, dead people, and creative math. Our only chance is to make a stink right now.

The counties to be most concerned with:
      - Yuma (CD 7–Grijalva)
      - Santa Cruz (A mix of both CD 7 and 8, I believe)
      - Pima (mix of CD 7 and 8)
      - Cochise (CD 8—Giffords)

The best blogs covering this topic should be:
      - Espresso Pundit (covers AZ politics from a conservative point of view)
      - Sonoran Alliance (southern Arizona politics)
      - The Cholla Jumps (he’s a bit of a flamethrower—but he is watching this issue the closest of all the local Southern AZ bloggers I know)

      Becker, have I missed anyone?

If those blogs break something, Redstate can help by linking to it. If the Tucson media knows that people are watching them, they may think twice about averting their eyes from—or refusing to look for—any real evidence of voter fraud.

Let’s be clear: right now, we’re speculating. There’s no hard evidence yet.

Are there any Redstaters who have time to write on this? If so, contact the moderators; they can get in touch with me.

One thing y’all can do is answer questions as I uncover them. Here are the first ones:

      1. What do we know about Mi Familia Vota and One Vote Arizona?
      2. What is the likelihood of a nonpartisan voter outreach organization returning an overwhelming majority of registrations for one party, if they just canvass neighborhoods in general? I’m especially suspicious of the report that they returned very few (if any) INDEPENDENT voter registrations.
      3. What are the penalties for voter registration canvassers who throw away registrations? We’re concerned that these groups might have “lost” Republcan or independent registrations they may have received. (Just to be clear, we have no proof of this).

If you can spend time in Yuma County in between now and Election Day, contact the moderators, and they can contact me. It wouldn’t surprise me if some GOP volunteers recanvass those neighbordhoods Mi Familia Vota and One Vote Arizona hit, to see if they are REALLY monolithic Democratic neighborhoods. Perhaps you could put in some shoe leather time.

      • smagar

        Wonder how THAT happened?

      • http://908StraightSt.wordpress.com/ mbecker908

MFV is part of SEIU. My hope is that the new Republican AG here will go after them for vote fraud and if he’ll work with the CO AG they can get a RICO indictment going.

No idea who OVA is, but I’m guess they’re loosely affiliated.

#2 is a matter for the AG. Actually the DoJ, but that won’t happen.

        #3, don’t know.

Do either Jesse or Ruth have remote calling capability? I’d be pleased to make calls for them if they’ve got the ability for me to do it from home?

        • smagar

?They are going by precinct and talking to folks,? said Francisco Heredia, Arizona state director for Mi Familia Vota and spokesman for One Arizona, the organizations behind the effort

          http://www.yumasun.com/news/early-64819-heredia-permanent.html

If you’ll follow the link to the Yuma Sun article, the reporter describes MFV as a non-partisan organization. Mmmmhmmmmm….

        • smagar

Three Sonorans has really been pounding on Tom Horne, the Republican candidate for AG.

Perhaps Three realizes the need to have a Democrat (Felicia Rotellini) in that job, if the time does come to investigate any voter fraud charges.

across the nation. If we can take on groups like ACORN and SEIU in a coordinated fashion we can RICO ‘em and put them out of business for good. I’m guessing that we’d also have a good shot at tying in a bunch of highly placed Democrat office holders.

    - Yuma (CD 7?Grijalva): Sue Reynolds, (928) 373-1014
    - Santa Cruz (A mix of both CD 7 and 8, I believe), Melinda Meek, (520) 375-7808
    - Pima (mix of CD 7 and 8), Steve Kizer, (520) 866-7550
    - Cochise (CD 8?Giffords), Thomas Schelling, (520) 432-8970

Ask them if they are aware of these problems, whether any like them have been reported, and whether they are informing either the county attorneys, or United States Attorneys, or both, of any allegations of voter registration fraud.

    Squeaky wheels get the oil.

    Thank you.

I.e;, will they know—or, if they know, will they tell—how many of the Mi Familia Vota registrations were Democrat, how many were Independent, or Republican, or Whig, or Druid, etc…

It will be nice if we can break down those numbers, to that level of specificity.

  • azaeroprof

I haven’t seen any suspicious numbers. But we’re a bit north and pretty conservative anyway. But Prescott IS the home of the AZ Secretary of State. I’ll get this story circulating here and see if anyone knows anything.

    • aesthete

AZ-07/South Tucson is an entirely different situation from Flagstaff and the northern parts of AZ, which really doesn’t have problems with voter fraud.

  • aesthete

I saw some rumblings on this issue, but didn’t know enough about it to post anything. I would not be surprised if there were voter fraud going on; Grijalva is dirty, and it would certainly not be beneath those supporting him to pull such a stunt. I would also not be surprised if it were a matter of poor quality control: hopefully, the initiative deadline prop passes so that we can have some checks on quality.

Also, Three Sonorans is a damnable and hopeless racist. There’s no point engaging him on any issue having to do with “La Raza”. Grijalva fits him like a glove, and unfortunately, AZ-07 is full of voters like him.

yesterday and was thinking about writing about it. I’m glad to see someone else picked up on it. Sounds like Yuma county is on top of it. I don’t have as much confidence in Pima County though.

  • deano64

register to vote in AZ. At least that’s what the 9th Circus Court says. Found this link at Drudge.

    • smagar

From what I read, I don’t think so.

The court determined Arizona?s polling place photo identification requirement, however, is a minimal burden and does not violate the Equal Protection Clause in the 14th Amendment.

Attorney General Terry Goddard?s office is still reviewing the decision and was unavailable for comment.

Secretary of State Ken Bennett said he does not anticipate that the ruling will make any difference in voting next week, since it wasn?t in place when registration closed Oct. 4.

  • smagar

I don’t want to overreact if it’s not that big a deal for THIS election.

But, for those of you who asked how you could help those of us trying to elect Jesse Kelly and Ruth McClung…

How could this ruling hurt Republicans in next week’s election?

The only thing I can think of, off the top of my head: large numbers of people who had their voter registrations rejected*, going BACK to the registrar and bullying the registrar in giving them provisional ballots. Chances are, at least some of those ballots would eventually get counted

(* Like, say, the Mi Familia Vota crowd in southern Arizona, especially in Ruth McClung’s district?)

If there are specific ways the Ds can use this to help get some edge, somewhere in this election, please let us know, so we can blog about it locally.

    Thanks

I understand your concern, but I doubt there will be any impact.

Terry Goddard went from being neck in neck to being the shoe-in in Flagstaff.

Flagstaff use to be a nice community with mostly small businesses and a university to a BIG Liberal stronghold when influxes of Californians bought up property, brought big business because of growth, and Flagstaff enjoyed some very nice 1990′s.

Now, however, it is a pit. Major drug road, friend to the illegal trespassers, and it’s hippie, gay/lesbian prograssives have shifted Flagstaff politics into We The People – Managed by the Government – Just Don’t Mess With Our Pot!
