Honor the Sabbath and keep it holy — not Harry Reid. Reid prefers to sin on Sunday, and he is using our tax dollars to do it.

Today, Senator Reid is calling the Senate back for a rare Sunday session. What’s the crisis? Reid has a massive lands bill that he would like to pass without debate and Senator Tom Coburn is standing in the way.

Rather than allow Senator Coburn to offer a few common sense amendments to a $10 billion spending spree that makes no sense at all, Senator Reid is using a procedural motion to effectively end debate and avoid adding controversy to a bill that heretofore has been said to be without controversy. The reason for this is clear; no one has read the bill.

Senator Coburn requested the right to offer amendments and filed thirteen for consideration. Let’s consider a few of those amendments:

One would strike $3.5 million allocated for a party in St. Augustine Florida.

One would strike $1 billion allocated to save 500 salmon in California.

One would strike $5 million allocated for botanical gardens in Hawaii and Florida.

Now you can understand why Senator Reid does not want to debate the legislation or have anyone read it. On top of all of the frivolous spending, the bill removes trillions of natural resources from energy exploration and places additional burdens on a backlogged national park system.

Senator Reid wants the nation to believe that he is doing our business and that Senator Coburn is the reason for the Sunday session. All of us are guilty at some point of sinning on Sunday, but this Sunday’s vote results from the sins of one man — Harry Reid.

I thought the Bible clearly states the “Sabbath” is the “seventh-day.” Wouldn’t that be Saturday??

That way they can’t ~~steal~~ spend so much of my money. I’d say they need to cut back to ~~four~~ ~~three~~ two-day weeks!

“Sabbath” was “changed” to Sunday as an expedient to help pick up sun worshippers. (Who naturally worshipped on Sunday)

All of the days were named after the “wandering” celetial bodies. Sabbat derived in the hebrew from Saturn.

In Spanish the planet names are more apparent, and it helps me remember the days!

Y’all better have some serious time on your hands. The bill is 1,294 pages and contains some stellar spending of our money.

Truthfully, I’d like to know what it cost to do just the bill itself.

Hell, I guess I don’t have a big problem with that, as long as they do the same for GWB. After all, the former commander and cheat was POTUS and deserves the same honor as previous office holders and the property is not being purchased, but must be donated.

“Physicist Alex Wissner-Gross says that performing two Google searches uses up as much energy as boiling the kettle for a cup of tea.”

One of the first sentences says that people don’t think about the environment when Googling. Ha ha…. It is to laugh.

Thing is, I’ll bet you dollars to donuts there’s a boatload of people taking this seriously.

All of a sudden, I’ve got the hankerin’ for tea and I just posted a comment on that article to say so.

“This is a joke right? No? You folks are serious ?

Individual freedom and liberty are in a much more perilous state than I thought.

I’m going to set my computer on an automatic random Google search and let it fly while I go out and boil up some water to fill my swimming pool with hot tea.”

Thank God for Tom Coburn!
