What Happened to You, Scotland? The Lockerbie Bomber, freed to ‘die with compassion’?

VIDEO (embedding disabled) Emotions run high over possible Lockerbie bomber release

The Lockerbie Bomber, a TERRORIST (not a man-made disaster causer), freed to “die with compassion“? His VICTIMS, innocent all, didn’t have that luxury.

One of my greatest fears is that this slippery slope America is currently on will have us end up like you. I’m ashamed of my Scottish heritage today; I’m ashamed for my entire maternal family, who all still live there. What happened to your Country? A Country full of fierce, brave fighters; a Country filled with people of strong backbone, always willing to fight and even die for Freedom.

“Scotland will forever remember the crime that has been perpetrated against our people and those from many other lands,” said Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill.

But he said: “Our justice system demands that judgment be imposed but compassion be available. Our beliefs dictate that justice be served, but mercy be shown.”

The decision comes amid thawing relations between Libya and Britain, which were arch-enemies in the 1980s and 1990s.

Libya has the largest proven oil reserves of any country in Africa, much of it still untapped, and British firms including BP and Shell have signed major exploration deals in the country in recent years.

Saad Djebbar, a lawyer who has worked with the Libyan government on the case, told BBC radio that freeing Megrahi would be a huge boost to relations between Britain and the whole Arab world.

“Britain and Scotland will grow in the eyes of the Arab states,” he said.

Did you do this for the oil? Or for the feel-goody “let’s all be friends” naively dangerous mindset you seem to embrace? Do you understand that Terrorists can’t be bought off with huggles and cookies? They want to KILL YOU and will continue to do so no matter how infuriatingly and perilously sycophantic you act. In fact, they are likely laughing at you right now. And they will now treat Al-Mehrahi as a hero. Some justice.

Do you understand that this evil (yes, evil. Evil does exist, contrary to your childish beliefs) man served just over 11 days per murder?

Terrorist who killed 270 people: Freed to die in the loving bosom of his family. His innocent victims? Meh. Their lives weren’t worth more than 11 days each.

You sicken me. That is all.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims .. people to whom you’ve just flipped the bird and slapped in the face. Innocent people who did not “die with compassion”; They died in terror. And horrific pain. And they did so without being able to have so much as a “good-bye” to their loved ones.

That’s “Compassion”? Not so much.

UPDATE: Yes, he IS being greeted as a hero. Happy now? You absolute fools **. Shame on you.

Libya crowd cheers Lockerbie bomber

(UKPA) – 1 minute ago

Thousands of Libyan people have greeted Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi on his return to Tripoli.

Some displayed Megrahi’s picture on T-shirts while Libyan and Scottish flags were also being waved by members of the crowd at a military airport.

Megrahi, who has terminal cancer, was released on compassionate grounds by Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill.

** * P.S. Stop getting your knickers in a bunch, Scottish folks … I don’t mean the Scottish people as a whole, with a broad brush; I’d be denigrating my ENTIRE family if I did. I am obviously referring to your *cough* esteemed *cough* Leaders and those on your Left, who believe in feel-goodiness hugs and kisses with Terrorists. And the buffoon of a Judge.

    Statement from the White House…

Statement by the Press Secretary on the release of Abdel Basset Mohamed al-Megrahi

The United States deeply regrets the decision by the Scottish Executive to release Abdel Basset Mohamed al-Megrahi. Megrahi was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for his role in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, which blew up over Scotland on December 21, 1988. As we have expressed repeatedly to officials of the government of the United Kingdom and to Scottish authorities, we continue to believe that Megrahi should serve out his sentence in Scotland. On this day, we extend our deepest sympathies to the families who live every day with the loss of their loved ones. We recognize the effects of such a loss weigh upon a family forever.

    Background:
Secretary of State Clinton, Attorney General Holder, the White House, and other U.S. government officials have had extensive contacts with their counterparts in Scotland and in the United Kingdom to emphasize that we do not support the release of Megrahi

This is from the White House that released a bunch of Iranian Republican Guard leaders in exchange for a “journalist”, gave up who knows what for the release of the two “Gorelings” from North Korea, will give up who knows what for the “tourists” that Iran captured, etc.

And no doubt pretty much every terrorist we catch will be released because it’s almost impossible to convict one of those clowns in a US court of law, and you know darn well that’s where almost every one of them is headed. After all, we need to make sure there is room for all the CIA folks and others that Holder is going after.

Not too hard to figure out.

He’d have had the US Navy F-14s intercept that plane…

He killed so much potential which changed so many lives.

I have always liked the statement that “Revenge is a dish best served cold”, but I think it is more like leftovers It is best served cold and over and over again. He is suffering from prostate cancer. This cancer is supposed to be very painful physically, but it must be even more painful for a man from a culture where much of the worth of a human being comes from having a prostate and other bits. I believe his suffering is just beginning. Hell for a murderers of innocents will be particularly hot.

the one you wrote about the old man who defended his store? Same theme of support/”compassion” for the perpetrator vs. the victim or victims. Doesn’t seem to matter whether it is a local community or a country, the liberals and MSM drive the story.

… because I’m originally from the UK and cannot believe that someone like this would be released, ever, under any circumstances except for clear proof of innocence. A terrorist who terminated so many other lives in such a brutal way and has shown no remorse deserves capital punishment, not early release.

My Mother is from Scotland; she came here when she was 20 years old and holds dual Citizenship.

She and my late Grandma were the only 2 from her family that came to the US. The rest of her family remained in Scotland; I’ve visited there often. I love Scotland, I love the people… but things have changed drastically there.

It makes me embarrassed, angry and very, very sad.

As long as there are bleeding heart liberal politicians and judges, even “Life Without The Possibility Of Parole” is subject to pardon on “compassionate” (i.e., spineless) grounds. Thankfully, the Catechism still allows for capital punishment so I don’t have to go to confession (at least not for this).

What an insult to those families whose loved ones are apparently not worth an ounce of respect from a govenment who either fears the thugs or sells their collective soul to the devil. Disgusting.

they’d take him to 30,000 feet or so, push him out, and let him contemplate those virgins for however long it takes to freefall six miles. Those people on that airliner had a long long time to think about hitting the ground in addition to the pain from lung damage and burst eardrums from the decompression plus many undoubtedly had blast and shrappnel injuries as well. Those killed in the blast were probably the lucky ones.

    Free fall in the dark.

    Compassion, my elbow.

I’d want him to thoroughly contemplate the ground he was going to hit. I actually don’t think that sort of impact really hurts; I’ve had a couple of nasty impacts that left me unconscious and the only way I knew I wasn’t dead was that I woke up – then it hurt! Something that kills you instantly, kills you instantly and your body doesn’t have time to do much more than just shut down, just like with a strong impact that doesn’t quite kill you. I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience, but in both the near-fatal incidents I’ve survived, I never felt any pain, just fear, the kind of fear that unless you been there you can’t imagine, because I knew something really bad was going to happen and there wasn’t a thing I could do about it except hope.
