Christie for VEEP??

Patrick@OrionConstructionInc.net

Ok,  I could deal with it. I don’t like Romney at all. He is the Obama approved candidate, but with Christie chewing his butt every day… who knows,.

Now Christie isn’t my favorite either. I think he is soft on gun rights, and has leftie tendancies… but he is tough.

Romney is a softball of kitten grade yarn.

So i am not wild about either… but Christie brings something to Romney that he cannot buy.

A spine.

Open Thread—Primary Election

Well, Newt is not doing as well as I had hoped.

One thing I do not understand is why they are still supporting Santorum.  ??

Overall, it would appear at this early moment that Romney is gathering on avarage around 60% of the vote. Some places more, others less… which will soak up some more Delegates for Governor Romney.

I do admit that it is all uphill for Speaker Gingrich, and his chances aren’t looking so rosey, but I still wonder what May will bring.

Anyhow, I invite anyone interested to come on in and state their opinions and observations.

Leon Panetta: Congress ‘Put A Gun To Their Heads’ By Risking Defense Cuts

I find this most interesting. First, from the outset, I never believed that the military cuts would ever happen.  And I was positive the whole Budget Super-committee I knew was pure politics devoid of substance was going to go down in flames.

In fact the whole thing was just a way to fill up Obama’s credit card with the Debt Ceiling hike. But taking into consideration Panetta’s considerable bluster in the recent speech to the Marines, I actually question myself—

Is Panetta just carrying water for Obama and Congress as planned, or is he actually taking his job seriously and challenging Congress, as well as the President on their complete lack of judgement, common sense, responsibility and duty to the Citizens and Military Members of the United States?

Well, if he is just going in to sew up the tail end of the deal as planned… which is ” Spend every penny we can, cut nothing ” He is doing an admirable job.

Now it was hard for me to believe, but he said we have been making progress in Afghanistan, and that we could not afford to throw our hard earned progress away, a good deal of which was paid for in blood. And, further, he stated that Iran is a very great problem in what we are doing.

This is what makes me question what is going on here.

If Panetta was just picking up the tail of the debt ceiling hike deal, why would he press any further than to say it would be irresponsible to arbitrarily cut the Military budget?

Many of you are much better informed about Panetta and his history, his views and positions.

At face value, his statements seem to indicate that he is actually trying to do his job. And that he understands it and is taking it seriously.

Has a single Obama appointee ever even considered doing this?

I would think that this is bordering on being an unforgivable slight against the Administration which will cause nothing but trouble.

The truth has no place in this Administration, and cannot be tolerated.  I wonder, is Panetta his own man, and headed for disaster?

I cannot tell. But Panetta is in an incredibly powerful and critical position.  At this point, given what he has said, I want to believe him because it is pure common sense.

To further confuse the issue, Obama seems to hate the military… until he wants to intervene in world affairs, at which point he will gleefully commit our troops and equipment to further his own personal agenda, and I cannot help but wonder what on earth is coming next.

I can’t tell what to make of any of this.

- Big Government Obama accomplishments…

I just had to share this…

- Big Government.

Rick Perry Bills the Federal Government $349 Million for incarcerating illegals

This is great, and what I have been thinking for some time.

The cost’s of catching, incarcerating, prosecuting…transporting… and all those damages caused by illegal immigrants including property and punitive damages… by rights should be passed directly to the Federal Government. As they hold themselves as the ONLY entity legally enabled to control the border, so goes the liability for lack thereof.

Rick Perry sent DHS Janet Napolitano a nice little letter, I would have loved to have seen the reaction.

I think this is real progress, and all of the States should scramble aboard.

I am quite certain the Federal Government is not receiving this well. I am pretty sure they will fight this tooth and nail, but common sense dictates that they have a responsibility and are liable for damages.

My first year with RedState

It has really been great. I always thought I was one of the few frothing at the mouth at our current state of affairs,k but since joining, I have discovered that I am only a piker by comparason to our senior members.

I only got thrown out once, and my indescretion was responding to some birther stuff which I recognised as good, clean fun…but that IS NOT the prevelent view…lol

My expirence thus far has been vry good, to say the least. I seem only to have a bit of trouble trying to advertise here…but taking into account some of my rather snide postings, I guess it might be understandable. I do enjoy swinging the sword and inciting violence for pure recreational reasons, but they are never ment to to be of a personal nature.

Look, I gotta shoot this bullet through your head, but you gotta understand, it ain’t me, it’s just business…and ya know how much I love ya… toodooloo..

But RedState has been a very personally rewarding expirence, and I thank you all, each and every one ESPECIALLY those who take issue with my rants and raves, because that is where we cross swords and it is the only time serious debate, growth and insight might take place.

Again, I am honored to be a part of this community, I look forward to each morning ( Every Morning ) of first straifing the news Fox, Drudge, Weasel Zippers, Hot Air and then proceeding to RedState to engauge in battle.. or mutual agreement which is more often the case..

In summary, all I can do is thank you all. Moe, Eric, Neil, and endless other contributors. I am honored to be amongst you all., and look forward to many more years of being so if Neil allows…lol

Hey, it’s my birthday. I getta say something, right?

Bottom line…RedState is GREAT!! Practically a public service, I recommend to anyone who will grant me audience. I never had so much fun with a computer.

Thanks all, and I hope you realize I am sincere in my statements. I feel that I am in the company of the true Patriots, and it is our mission to protect and defend this great country we either have been lucky enough to have been born in, or accepted by.

  Sincerely…
