Not so much a conservative victory, as a victory for states rights.

Listening to the talking heads spin the victory of Scott Brown in Massachusetts you would think Barry Goldwater beat John Kennedy.  I don’t read it that way. I have listened to and read a lot of comments, mostly from Democrats and independents explaining why they voted. There is something there, something very “tea party-esque”.  And it goes deeper than last years Tea Parties. It is | Read More »

What is the real force behind the health care putsch

Nancy Pelosi is engineering a health care putsch for very personal reasons, and she doesn’t care who it hurts in her party. It may be a matter of survival for her political career.

    We support financial reform..

There is no question that the recent financial contraction had a negative impact on this country. Regulatory reform makes sense. But, who do we turn to for that reform? Let us assume we want to have someone advise us on our personal finances. We could begin by looking for an experienced consultant, with a track record that we can inspect. We could talk to Bernie | Read More »

    The danger of group think

Somebody doesn’t get it. The concensus is that is Barack Obama. But, I think that is because we expect him to be making progress on our agenda, and are blind to his true goals. Maybe, just maybe Barack Obama knows what he is doing and is pleased with his progress. Find out why……

Cash for Clunkers: A lesson for single payer advocates.

If the government cannot successfully implement a simple, high profile program like cash for clunkers, how bad do you think the government will bollix up something as big, complex and important as health care. The Obama administration, Congress and the Senate got the demand estimate wrong, the cost estimate wrong, the funding wrong, the technology to qualify doesn’t work and no one knows what has been spent. All this in a program with one procedure (trade-in) one set of criteria (age and mpg) and only two prices ($3500 or $4500).

If it is impossible for something this simple for the Government to get right, how can they even begin to think they could do a credible job on something as big, complex and critical to life as health care?

    Move over Jimmy Carter – Here’s Barry…..

Come on over to the house, will sit down, have a beer and talk about things. Not like any of us have important work to do. Yes sir. No one managed to make themselves look smaller and more insignificant in the eyes of the world in one silly act since Jimmy Carter carried his own luggage off Marine One into the White House.   If an otherwise | Read More »

The obvious savings from health care bill

Seems simple enough to me. Counsel the elderly on how to determine the best time to “turn themselves off” which sounds so much nicer than assisted suicide. Impose standards, such as health, behavioral etc. Prevent unwanted births. Any questions?     1. The idea of having old people die sooner, and cheaper is easy. Most people that put any thought into Obama’s ideas about saving | Read More »

Marriage defines itself. For those who are uncertain I will explain.

Marriage is a contract between two consenting adults, not of the same sex, and the government. Now there is a simple explanation for why this is, that is not based on religion. Let me explain.
