Dem Congressman advocates lying about election date

The Democrats are always accusing Republicans of passing out fliers saying that the date of an election has moved. Of course, there is never any evidence linking these to Republicans, but that doesn’t stop the Democrats.

But here’s a Democrat, new Virginia Congressman Gerry Connelly, actually advocating telling Republicans the wrong date of the special election to fill his spot on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors:

Gerry Connelley is a Tim Kaine Democrat. Kaine, who started as DNC Chair today, endorsed Connelly in the Democratic primary for VA-11, and that is widely attributed in pushing Connelly over the top.

Is this how Virginia Democrats and the DNC run campaigns?

    Really funny, advocating suppression of any American’s right to vote. Right, left or in the middle, the kind of talk should scare us all.

    Remember Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA), a perfectly good, loyal, corrupt Dem with seniority out the wazoo went down to defeat in a heavily Dem district because the Dems didn’t understand that their candidate had to win the general election in addition to the party primary. Or at least that was Jefferson’s excuse.

    Soren, given that Connolly defeated former Rep. Leslie Byrne by 25 points (58-333, with the remainder going to two other candidates), I don’t see how you can say that Kaine’s endorsement of Connolly in the primary “is widely attributed in pushing Connelly over the top.”

    Probably the only one who thinks that is Not Larry Sabato, who you linked to. That guy’s a fanatical Byrne supporter who is not exactly playing with 52 cards. However bad Connolly might be, I’d be shocked to find a Republican who thinks a far-left, unrepentant liberal like Leslie Byrne would be an improvement.
