Daschle, Geithner, and Franken: Tax cheats

Who is the next Democrat to cheat on their taxes?

A tremendous amount of attention has been focused recently on Tom Daschle’s $140k tax blunder. It turns out that he didn’t even disclose any of his to Barack Obama after Obama nominated him. Note that this even included not paying the Medicare for his driver.

And people paid attention to now Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s “mistake”(?) of not paying taxes, while collecting the reimbursement for those taxes from his employer.

These aren’t the only Democrats on the national scene with tax troubles. Remember Al Franken, currently in limbo due a contested recount in Minnesota? Do you remember that he too didn’t pay his taxes? From the Politico in April:

But Franken’s admission Tuesday night that his corporation had owed $70,000 in back taxes and penalties in 17 states threatens to upend what has been until now a disciplined, on-message campaign against one of the GOP’s most vulnerable incumbents.

How many more are out there? Who is next?

Per today’s presser, now Daschle is uniquely qualified and key to our medical system’s future…

See, when the Republican’s fell for the ‘Geithner is the only only one who can save our financial system’ lie - we gave the Obamanics the key to getting candidates confirmed. Argue that everyone is uniquely qualified.

This is another reason to hold the line on Daschle and throw him under the bus. Holder can join him there next week.

This makes me sick...

I have to say that all these tax cheats getting government appointments makes me sick. I don’t agree with Obama on much but at least I would respect him if he cut ties with these tax cheats. What’s worse is that the MSM just stands by and explains to us plebes that this was an honest mistake and that these people are beyond repute and the nation wouldn’t be able to operate without them. Who buys this #@$@#??? I would have never thought that I could lose so much faith in our government…I have lost all respect for this corrupt entity. The founding fathers would be sick to see that such ill reputes are being held up as the saviors of this nation. HOW CAN THIS BE???

On a side note, I took some time off from reading this site since the election…it is good to be back. :-)

…to suggest that Obama needs to nominate all of Google’s board of directors to senior-level administration positions.

Figure that might put a sizable dent in our budget deficit right there, no?

Maybe Obama Could Nominate Wesley Snipes

He is another tax cheat, so he would qualify for a cabinet position. Let’s say he’d be the Culture Czar.

You cannot claim “oppps” on 10’s of thou in taxes……

This is all You, BS…..

Back in 1998…I put an Engine in my work truck…about 5000.00..

Of course I made it a deduction…..it took them about 6 months to red flag it…….they Audited me for that return….

They ended up amortizing the cost over 6 years…..and gouged me for almost 3000.00….

Now with these guys we are talkin between 40 thou and 140,000?….BS!

ALL THESE DUDES ARE FRICKIN LIARS!!

McConnell should propose a new Senate rule: You can’t vote to raise someone else’s taxes until your own are paid in full.

Officers are held to higher standard

itdiehard Tuesday, February 3rd at 8:47AM EST (link)

Why not congress and general law makers? A higher standard should apply to all law makers. They should pay double and server maximum jail time without time off for good behavior and be denied public office for life….

Obama and Geithners should order...

tempest Monday, February 2nd at 5:50PM EST (link)

the last five years of taxes of every member of congress and the senate to be audited in order to restore some credibility back to politics. Additionally, a five year audit should be done for every political appointee and/or governement staffer or official. If a person has more than X number of dollars of unpaid taxes…that person should be automatically disqualified and prosecuted.

Hypocrites

MAVsays WantTruthMan Monday, February 2nd at 7:35PM EST (link)

Izoneguy that’s great, I’m glad you remembered that Biden Bull…
He’s also the cheapskate scumbag who has only given maybe $1000.00 to charity in the last 10 years. “What a sick disgusting hypocrite he is. But then again 90% of Democrats in office are nothing but, filthy, lying, cheating, thieving, anti American scumbags, who could care less about this country or any of us. They are there to see what they can suck out of the taxpayers. They should all be out of office and in prison…

Let’s not forget Charlie Rangle either. He didn’t pay taxes on his rental property but then he writes tax law. And William Jefferson who had $90,000 in his freezer. I’m sure he was not planning on reporting that income so he could pay taxes on that…

The people who keep voting this crap into office are insane or dumb or just so selfish themselves. I wonder what they plan on doing and who they think is going to take care of them after they have destroyed the good old USA.

How do we expect our kids to act when we time after time put into high office people who break the laws, especially TAX evasion, when they expect us to pay more than 50% of all we make in taxes of every sort???

Think of what the media would do if these were Republicans. We need to do something about the media abusing their privilege by lying and being nothing more than FREE ADVERTISING for Democrats…

CALL YOUR REP’s and scream at them everyday…

Now this is change I can believe in

Right_Again Monday, February 2nd at 8:36PM EST (link)

What a refreshing change Obama brings to government. Nominating and standing by tax cheats for prime government jobs is change I can believe in.

I only hope more of his nominees are found to be tax cheats. This slow-bleed of corruption tells me all I need to know about Obama’s ethics.

Daschle especially appears to be a pay-for-play, quid pro quo arrangement as evidenced by the fact that Obama insists he is also uniquely qualified (see also Geithner) for this position with relatively little in his record to recommend him. It obviously has nothing to do with Daschle’s early and prolonged support of Mr. Hope/Change.

This puts a new angle on the idea that 95% of Americans should get a tax refund including those who don't pay taxes.
