McCain has won if Obama snubbed Hillary to this extent

I know it's from the Politico, but they do try to help Obama

If the following report from the Politico is true, and for all we know Obama could disprove it with his announcement, the presidential election is game, set, match:

There’s one Democrat who would seem to have little or no chance of being picked by Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) to be his running mate – his former opponent, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.).

But it’s not for the reason you think.

Obama has often said, most recently on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on July 27, that Clinton “would be on anybody’s short list.”

But apparently not his.

“She was never vetted,” a Democratic official reported. “She was not asked for a single piece of paper. She and Senator Obama have never had a single conversation about it. How would he know if she’d take it?”

This, again if true, is absolutely the most stupid thing any candidate has done this year. Sure, Hillary has been “vetted” for a century or so but this is quite different. Here, she is supposed to be “vetted” as a matter of common courtesy.

I will be saddened but resigned if Obama disproves this story today. But again, it is over if the above is true. It also would show–hell, it already shows–an arrogance that exceeds what even we thought.

I am astounded by this story, and that’s not a partisan jab. Even if Obama announces he selected Hillary at the same time this is posted, I am shocked and that takes a lot these days.

I agree with you that if it turns out to be true that Obama never even vetted Hillary, even if just to be courteous to her and her supporters (assuming that he doesn’t pick her), it will look really bad. She actually got more votes than he did, and if it appears that he never even considered her (or even vetted her out of courtesy), then yes, it will appear to be a snub to her and her voters, and it will reveal a real arrogance on Obama’s part.

She’s been in the public spotlight since 1991.

He’s had a team dedicated to raking her muck for months.

I think all of this is not-Hillary whispering is designed to make a big splash when he announces it.

Wouldn’t one assume that Obama dug up everyting he needed to know about Hillary during the primary.
