Want to get a sense of exactly how expensive the Paulson Plan is?

1 million seconds is 11 days   

1 billion seconds is 32 years 

1 trillion seconds is 3 centuries

If we take on as much debt as Paulson wants (well over a trillion dollars) and we pay it back at the rate of a dollar per second, it would take 3 centuries to repay. And that assumes its “only” a trillion dollars . . . it could be much, much more.

Watch the greenback go down the rathole.

I can only add that if the GOP actually follows through with this boondoggle they will lose the votes of fiscons/libertarians in a flash. The vast majority of this nation votes with their wallet, not on pumped up social issues. Those folks will have no more reason to come out and vote GOP. Why bother??
We’ll be no better than the Dems.

Don’t do this. Let them fail.

Yes. It will be brutal. It will hurt beyond words. But it’s the only way to fix the problem without forfeiting all credibility on fiscal issues.

PS….It’s the only way to actually FIX the problem.

Our president will be vindicated on Iraq. History will be forced to recognize that GWB was RIGHT on Iraq. Don’t blow it now! Don’t capitulate to the scare tactics of Wall Street.
