Questionnaire: Would you support State Senator Tom Davis over Senator Graham?

Review his record below, and then post yes or no. I know it is a hypothetical, but would you be willing to support him if he were the only candidate challenging Graham?

I think it is a real question. In this article, rumors are that State Senator Tom Davis plans to challenge Senator Lindsey Graham (RINO-South Carolina):

http://www.theitem.com/news/article_04a5811a-5b27-11e1-bebd-001871e3ce6c.html

Quote:

“Not so with state Sen. Tom Davis, a Beaufort Republican, real estate lawyer and onetime top aide to former Gov. Mark Sanford.

Word on the street is that Davis actively is contemplating a 2014 run against Graham. More than a dozen GOP leaders and activists interviewed for this story said they are aware of Davis’ interest.

At a recent annual convention of the Conservative Political Action Committee in Washington, a S.C. political operative with close ties to Davis, granted anonymity in order to speak candidly, put the odds at “better than 50-50″ that Davis will challenge Graham.

Asked about that prospect, Davis responded: “I haven’t really given it any thought.”

Then, he quickly corrected himself.

“That’s not fair. Obviously, as a politician, you look at the opportunities that might lie ahead.”

While saying he is focused on getting re-elected to his state Senate seat in the fall, Davis added, “I haven’t ruled anything out, and I haven’t ruled anything in.”

Let me tell you all a little about State Senator Tom Davis (R):

1) He is a fiscal conservative Republican. He proudly holds a 100% (A+) from the South Carolina Club for Growth:

Analyze the votes they scored here: http://www.scclubforgrowth.org/scorecards

2) He is pro-life. He co-sponsored the Personhood Bill of South Carolina (S. 450) earning him praise from the South Carolina Right to Life.

3) He  endorsed Governor Nikki Haley when she faced three other pro-stimulus Republicans (as Senator Demint puts it in his book: “The Great Awakening”).

Nikk Haley has great respect for Tom Davis:

4) Tom Davis was called ” a rising star”. He is very fond of the Tea Party:

there is no doubt about that.

and even though i dislike that moderate graham and know he is not going to win in the 2014 primary, we sure can do a whole lot better than tom davis. so to answer your question, i would vote for graham over davis any day of the week.

thats because tom davis is a paulbot, plus i am automatically opposed to any ”liberty” candidates. i would vote for a moderate over a paul supporter any day of the week. and davis stands with ron paul. trust me, i run an anti paul site and he is a follower of that loon paul(we chart his supporters so we know who to oppose in primaries). and i can post PLENTY of verifying info if this becomes a question.

so yes, i like the idea of a tea party backed candidate challenging graham.. we all know he is vunerable, but not anyone associated with that loon paul.

i would like a quality candidate like tim scott or trey gowdy to run. both of those men have a bright future in conservative politics and would be a HUGE upgrade over graham..

I’m sure glad that you weren’t a Kentucky voter. Otherwise, Mitch McConnell would have gotten another assistant RINO and JIM DEMINT WOULD HAVE GAINED ANOTHER OPPONENT (and headache) INSTEAD OF AN ALLY!

With all due respect, I understand you have some reservations about Ron Paul and his followers. I have a great respect for your tea party, but your continued hatred of anybody who you claim is a “Paulbot” is getting out of hand.

Did you oppose Ted Cruz because he got Dr. Paul’s endorsement?
Did you oppose Rand Paul since he’s the son of Dr. Paul?
Would you like to have more RINOs than those in the “liberty” movement?
Did you know that “Paulbot” Congressman Justin Amash scored a 100% with the Club for Growth and a 90% from the Heritage Foundation?
Did you know that Jim Demint has supported most of Rand Paul’s amendments? Did you know that most conservatives are supporting auditing the fed?
Did you know that the two congressmen you support voted for auditing the fed?

I could go on and on. You probably won’t change your mind…but I do hope you will consider rolling back your hatred of everybody and anybody who supports Ron Paul. There are radicals in their movement…but some people are just regular citizens like you and me. Would you not agree that there are some militant radical Tea Partiers as well?

(P.S. I would support Congressmen Scott or Gowdy should they run for the senate. I like them a lot. But I hope you will withdraw your comments that Graham would be better…he wouldn’t be.)

thats the difference between the two.

i dont want someone who wanted ron paul to be the president of the united states going anywhere near the senate. and i will oppose him as best i can. even if that means graham wins. better a moderate than a paulbot.

and you will see that people on this site that might have supported him wont support him because of his relationship with of paul. and why dont you post that he is an enthusiastic supporter of ron paul in this diary asking if we liked davis better than graham?. you know that would make a major difference on this site.

and here is a link to his full-thorated endorsement of paul: http://senatortomdavis.com/blog/sen-tom-davis-endorsement-announcement/

if I did, I would vote for a dead dog before Grahmesty!

And no….he is not a “Paulbot”.

I like Congressman Mulvaney A LOT!

(Tim Scott and Trey Gowdy are also awesome representatives, but Mick is my favorite of them all…especially since he was the only one to defeat a Democrat (Rep. John Spratt).

for Ron Paul. I always believe a man’s record is more important than who he endorses. I didn’t think it would be that important to you. Sorry. :(
