Mourdock Campaign Pillages Personal Info

Remember when I said Richard Mourdock was a liar? It turns out that I need to add “thief” to that list.

Mourdock’s campaign is currently under investigation for an e-mail sent by campaign manager Jim Holden instructing staffers to “start pillaging email addresses” from a voter database used by Indiana Republicans. The Indiana Republican Party immediately revoked the Mourdock campaign’s access to the database after learning of these shocking and underhanded actions.

Richard Mourdock has run his race as a self-proclaimed Washington outsider, damning anybody who has set foot inside the beltway and railing against the federal government. The sheer hypocrisy of this man becomes clear when you juxtapose his words against his actions.

The talking points Mourdock has used on the stump center around pillars of conservative thought: fiscal restraint, accountability in government, and personal responsibility.  In reality, Mourdock has shown he is willing to go around, under or through anything standing in his way of winning this primary, personal privacy or pay-to-play laws be damned.

Frankly, these Chicago-style politics have no place in Indiana. Mourdock would not have to move far to feel much more at home with the local politicians. He in no way deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as luminaries like Dick Lugar or Mitch Daniels.

As the primary approaches, the people of Indiana are beginning to see the real Richard Mourdock – and the more they learn, the less they like him. Mourdock claims he wants to change Washington. If that is the case, then why is he already acting like the insiders he supposedly loathes?

Richard Mourdock is not right for Indiana, nor is he right for the country. The United States is at a pivotal point in our history and we need men of integrity to represent us in Washington. The people of Indiana are lucky that they already have someone they can trust to uphold their Hoosier values and not worry about Chicago-style trickery and possible criminal activity.

starsandstripez has been doing hit and runs on Mourdock with little or no evidence. Then when others challenge, fails to respond or refute in any way. No history of comments either.

This part of the state is generally a bellwether for state success in a statewide election…and Mourdock is very, very popular here.

Not sure if this writer is a troll, but they appear to be quite vociferously against Mourdock. As an outsider from Indiana, I have looked at this election with a somewhat outsiders eye. Lugar, Mourdock or Donnelly will not represent me. But from all the research, three things are evident. First, the criticism against Lugar is somewhat tenuous at best. Given his tenure, there are sure to be certain votes somewhere along the line that are going to upset conservatives. I also believe that the Obama-Lugar “friendship” over nuclear non-proliferation is a non-issue as non-proliferation should cut across party lines with how we get there being the point of concern. And there are other things that upset people regarding Lugar. Second, from everything I have read from sources in Indiana and elsewhere, including conversations with friends there, support for Mourdock is vociferous, but not overwhelming in numbers. Also, why hasn’t anyone questioned how the state treasurer- Mourdock- could “lose” $300 million in corporate tax receipts. That seems to indict his abilities in the first instance and leave him exposed as a talker, not a “doer.” Finally, Lugar way outperforms Donnelly in general election polling while Mourdock is virtually tied. I realize that polls sometimes mean diddly-squat and that a Republican will LIKELY win this seat. But, why leave control of the Senate to chance or place it at risk?
As I have said in previous entries, Indiana voters are generally conservative, but their conservatism is more practical than ideological. In that sense, Lugar makes better sense for Indiana.
I realize that this issue regarding the Indiana Senate seat is somewhat controversial here and elsewhere and although if I were a voter in Indiana, I would cast my vote for Lugar, I am disinclined to recommend this article. My “dislike” of Mourdock may be equal to that of the OP but that is for the voters of Indiana to decide.
