It appears the Democrats in Congress pulled a fast one… The defunding of ACORN was temporary.

Below Rep. Michelle Bachmann tells Chris Baker on KTLK in Minneapolis that ACORN beginning receiving funding on Nov. 1st. This is an absolute OUTRAGE!!!

The ASSociated Press has a story this morning “Analysis: He won, but for what?” To their credit, they’re actually asking the right question as Journalism should…

The article state the prize seems to be more about “Obama’s promise than for his performance” If that were the case that would be like giving the Nobel Prize for Medicine to someone who came up with the idea for a revolutionary drug rather than actually INVENTING the drug. This award reminds me of Al Gore winning last year… for Chicken Littling an event that is now questioned by more scientists as not existing than those who claim it does. Not too mention the recent revelation that the “scientists” who backed the IPCC report did so for financial reasons. The article states the following: “The prize seems to be more for Obama’s promise than for his performance. Work on the president’s ambitious agenda, both at home and abroad, is barely underway, much less finished. He has no standout moment of victory that would seem to warrant a verdict as sweeping as that issued by the Nobel committee.”

I would venture that the awarding the Nobel Prize to Obama is more about his/their politics than anything to do with promise or performance. The Nobel Prize Committee seems to have no problem honoring recipients who have either ties to, or sympathy for, tyrannical ideas such as socialism…

Yasser Arafat (Terrorist – thousands dead at his hands)

Jimmy Carter (A supporter/sympathizer to every Socialist/Communist leader in the world that is against Human Rights, yet he walks around making himself out to be a humanitarian)

Nelson Mandela (Was a staunch supporter of Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, the Lockerbie Bomber, who killed 270 people)

Bishop Desmond Tutu (Supporting dictatorships in Zimbabwe and blaming the West for their own problems… sounds very Muslim to me)

Al Gore (Need we say more… the politics of his Global Warming Chicken Little act would decimate millions of people into poverty and control by the State)

Now Barack Obama (For attempting to impose Socialism and throw mud on the “Shining City on the Hill”)

For those who would question why Nelson Mandela is on this list… proof here: UK Telegraph: No Sympathy Apartheid was a travesty… but I think his imprisonment all those years had real cause behind it given his proclivities for supporting terrorists.

A post I discovered written by a Tim Siggia entitled The Nobel Peace Farce pretty much sums it up with this statement:

“Perhaps the last Nobel Peace Prize recipient who really deserved such an award was Mother Teresa of Calcutta, believed by many to eventually become a canonized saint of the Catholic Church. That the good Albanian nun was worthy of such honor there is no question. Whether or not the Nobel Peace Prize is worthy of her is another matter altogether. Ever since then, the Nobel Peace Prize, whatever it was originally supposed to be, has degenerated into an annual political-correctness award having nothing to do with peace, and everything to do with politics..

Sounds to me that the Nobel Prize is coasting on past prestige to drape the imposition of tyranny in a cloak of honorable respectability… It lost that about 15 years ago. Frankly… The Nobel Prize should be placed in the same category as the Pulitzer… Interesting to note that the Pulitzer was named after a publisher who was characteristically known for, and was often accused of, promoting “yellow” journalism. How fitting.

The stupidity of the Left knows no bounds…

AP reports a story entitled “Guns Allowed in Arizona Bars Starting Wednesday”… innocuous enough until you drill down into the article.

“The new law has Shields and other bar owners and workers wondering: What’s going to happen when guns are allowed in an atmosphere filled with booze and people with impaired judgment?

“Somebody can pull the trigger, then a bullet comes out, and people get hurt and killed,” said Brad Henrich, owner of Shady’s, a popular neighborhood bar that sees occasional minor scuffles. “The idea of anyone coming in with guns in a place that serves alcohol just seems ludicrous.”

To anyone with a short memory, this would invoke images of gunfights at the “OK Corral” Bar & Grill… but has it occurred to anyone that the exact opposite may occur?

In case most of the nitwit Lefties reading this have a short memory, or are too young to remember, period… I offer two words… Killeen, Texas.

What’s the significance of Killeen, TX?  Luby’s restaurant, and the largest shooting massacre in American History until the events at University of Virginia.  The shooting occurred on October 16, 1991 when George Jo Hennard drove his pickup truck through the front window of Luby’s Cafeteria in broad daylight during lunch with the place packed with 80 patrons and shot and killed 23 people.  None were armed, with the exception Suzanna Gratia Hupp… her firearm was in her car because Texas law at the time forbade the carrying of firearms in restaurants or bars… instead of possessing the ability to stop the shooter, she watched as both her parents were gunned down before her eyes.

During the shooting, Hennard approached Suzanna Gratia Hupp and her parents. Hupp had actually brought a handgun to the Luby’s Cafeteria that day but had left it in her vehicle because laws in force at the time forbade citizens from carrying firearms. According to her later testimony in favor of Missouri’s HB-1720 bill and in general, after she realized that her firearm was not in her purse but “a hundred feet away in [her] car,” her father charged at Hennard in an attempt to subdue him but was gunned down; a short time later, Hupp’s mother was also shot and killed. Hupp later expressed regret for abiding by the law in question by leaving her firearm in her car rather than keeping it on her person.

So before you idiots go all Chicken Little and scream doom and gloom “the sky is falling” with the usual milk toast, pantie waist crybaby antics… think about who you kill with gun control.

Yesterday afternoon, Philip J Berg, Esq. whose recent civil suit filed in Federal Court in Philly Case No. 2:2008cv04083 was dismissed not because evidence, but on standing of the plaintiff, has taken his case to the Supreme Court of the United States.

First off, apologies for this cross-post from We Rush Daily But I felt it was important to get this out.

It came to my attention today in an email I received from the NRA-ILA regarding the latest goings on at the NRA. Scanning through the email, I noted a point where the NRA took issue with past statements on the part of Mr. Obama on his views on the issues and concerns of firearms ownership, usage, etc. As any organization might do, the NRA has instituted a campaign of its own making known what these views and positions of Mr. Obama are to its members. Factcheck.org, is a group that is financed by the Annenberg Foundation, which also happens to be a contributing supporter of the Brady Center for the Prevention of Handgun Violence.
