    Turbo Tax Tim spent the day on the Hill trying to convince Congress to empower Treasury to be able to take over ANY company that they, the Fed, and Obama feel is counterproductive to the kind of economy they want to run.

    Obama eluded to it in his press conference, saying the government needed the authority to go in and manage companies other than banks which the FDIC can now take over and control if they fail.

    At some point we are going to wake up and realize that that the conversion to pure socialism is already a done deal.

    I think it’s going to take a lot more than Tea Parties to turn things around. That scares me, but I’m already down with that, too, if it becomes necessary.

    You must have been a Civil War rifleman and songwriter in a previous life.

    If I could make one suggestion, I’d change line 2 somehow so that no one gets the impression that we’re nativists. Perhaps something like, “Free upon the soil”? (I don’t think anyone would mind a slight Free Soiler reference.)

    Or you could go for something entirely different.

    I don’t like Obama. I know he poses a direct threat to Constitutional rights. I know he is a socialist.

    That said, this piece is ridiculous, melodramatic, cheap, and embarrassing. All it does is give liberals another excuse to laugh at “right-wing nutjobs” and continue ignoring conservative arguments.

    about as close to a National Anthem as the Confederate States had; Dixie was just a popular song, north and south. The actual chorus is:

    For Southern Rights, Hurrah/
    Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag/
    That bears a single star.

    But, I do have a Richmond Type 3 uniform and accouterment and a P1853 Enfield rifled musket that I can load and fire in nine times.

    nice musket. i like the 19th century western rifles more than the civil war rifles, but it’s a thril to shoot any of them.

    All it does is show that Obama said there were not earmarks in the stimulus package even though there were tons. That’s just classic American political villainy, though. If you want to cast him as a pseudo-Stalinist or whatever, you’re going to have to come up with more than just that.
