There is a little less than a month left until the elections and the Republican Governors put out a great video Remember November
Summer is over
The weather is getting cooler and the days are getting shorter, so summer must be over. And really it could not get over fast enough for me. This has truly been the Summer From Hell for me. I am not going into details about that, but I think I am finally at peace with many things now.
Ok, enough with the drama. Now that summer is over, we are getting closer to election time. And we need all hands on deck for the upcoming elections. The Republicans have a good chance to win back both the House and the Senate. It is not a done deal and the Senate will be a tougher cookie to crack, but it can be done.
Everyone that has been to a Tea Party or has been reading post all across the Right Blogospehere know what this elections means. It is not the normal mid term elections of the past. This is a referendum on Obama and the Democrats handling the economy and foreign policy.
And as we stand now, the Republicans have not won anything. Just posting and writing about it will do nothing if we do not have the boots on the grounds and get people to the polls on November 2.
GOTV will mean everything this year. And the Concord Project is a great place to find groups and find out where you can get involved in your area. Roots of Liberty is another good place to find out what is going on in your area and find places where you can help out.
It is time to get the people fired up and ready to go vote. The elections is little over a month away and we can not waste any time in getting things organized. The Time is now .
For a little inspiration I leave you with Ben Howe’s excellent video:

I had a blast at the RS Gathering and I am recovering as we speak. It was so much fun to see all the RedStaters from all over the country. There were over 200 people from 30 states there, and there was so many great speakers.
But I think the best part was meeting people from all over the country and putting faces to names. The speakers were great, but you can always hear the politicians speak. Do not be offended if I forget names, I am terrible with names and having a few Shinner Boks does not help either. Especially at the big shindig that Gov Perry put on for us. It was fun to listen to people’s idea’s on taxes, the War on Drugs, and various other political arguments. The RedStaters are a diverse group and have a wide variety of philosophies in the Conservative realm. But are all for getting this country on the path to fiscal sanity and move it the the Right.
Caleb Howe and his beautiful wife, who both need to get an award for bringing this whole thing together. Without them this whole thing would have never happened. And Caleb’s mom and the ceremonial goat too.
One of the biggest things that I got from going, was the proof that Conservatives are fired up and the people at RedState are a driving force, both the Front Pagers and the everyday diarists that help the cause.
And during the dinner on Saturday we got to preview a movie called Fire in the Heartland, this is a must see video of the Women in the Conservative Movement
The first-ever film to tell the entire story of the conservative woman in her own words, “Fire from the Heartland” is a powerful statement about America at a crossroads and the women who have awakened to the crisis.
Activists, politicians and commentators such as Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, S.E. Cupp, Dana Loesch, Michelle Easton, Sonnie Johnson, Jenny Beth Martin, Michelle Moore, Jamie Radtke, Deneen Borelli, Janine Turner, and Congresswomen Cynthia Lummis, Jean Schmidt, and Michele Bachmann share their emotional stories of hardship and triumph in their fight for freedom. These women leaders are fanning the flames of liberty across the nation.
Cannot wait for next year’s
BTW who stole the goat???? I heard they were selling goat tacos???

Memories of 9/11
(originally posted at Stix Blog)
Since I will not be around a computer most of tomorrow,I thought I would do a post on my reflections on that fateful day 9 years ago.
I was on my way to work on the Metrolink, it was a beautifful day in St Louis. I was thinking about a trip that I was gong to to on with family, A Mediterranean Cruise with 2 days in Rome. We were to fly out on Sept 14.
When I got to work everyone was watching the TV in the lobby. I was wondering what all the commotion was about. Someone said a plane hit one of the Twin Towers. I thought that was odd, especially looking at it on TV,there was no fog in NYC. So I went back into my dungeon and started to listen to radio. At the time I listened to Howard Stern in the mornings, he was talking about the plane that hit the Twin Towers, and most thought it was a little cesna or something like that. Then he said the other Tower was hit, and then I knew this was a deliberate attack. A few minutes later my brother called and proceeded to say we are at war. Which I did not exactly think at the time, until the Pentagon got hit. Then I knew we were at war. I did not know who Osama bin Laden was at the time, but in the next few days, the whole country knew who he was and who Al Queda was.
Back to the family vacation, we were to leave on Saturday the14th, but there was no flights going in or out of the US, or anywhere inside the US still. The Cruise Line was saying , “well, you are SOL” and that maybe we could pick it up in mid stream. Well,we could not leave the US. Eventually they let us postpone the trip, we eventually went a few years later and was one of the best vacations I have ever had.
The following weeks after 9/11 I did not get much sleep. I was watching the news more and more 24/7 almost. As with many, I thought that another attack was coming soon. The scare at the Sears Tower and other major buildings and monuments.
I was pretty political before 9/11 and was blogging beforehand. But I think 9/11 and the horror of the attacks made me more aware and much more of a political animal. I now want to know what is going on all over the world, the history major helps also.
ON a side note, one of my co-workers at the time was in the hotel across the street from the Twin Towers. All of us at my work were worried about him,and eventually we found out that he was fine and was evacuated safely.
I think time has eroded our memory of that day. too many have forgotten who and what we are fighting. This is not a war we started,it is one out of necessity, and one we must win. Too many of our politicians are thinking with the 9/10 mentality.
WE MUST NEVER FORGET
I can see November
(Originally posted at the Washington Examiner Opinion Zone)
I did not go to Right Online this year, but I did watch many videos of the main speeches from the event; here is my take on what happened.
This November is not just about Republicans taking back Congress or politics at all, or should I say, not politics as usual. November is about how we, as a nation, can take our back government. Do we want to go down the same old road that has been happening for the last few decades, where we’ll punt on the debt and keep the statist government we have now? Or do we return to the principles of our Constitution, written, to give the people freedom from excessive intrusion of government, and to maintain their liberty.
I will not go into many details about the videos, they speak for themselves. But discuss some of the points they made – directed toward helping us be an activist Movement and getting the job done. Obama and Democrats, have woken the Sleeping Giant of Conservatism.
First and foremost, what does the Constitution mean to our country?
Is the Constitution just a piece of paper that has written words of no substance, or is it an outline that the Founding Fathers designed for us, to use as a the very foundation of a Constitutional Republic? The Constitution was written in a time when most countries in the world were ruled by Monarchies, with an aristocratic class. America does not have kings, and the Constitution was written so we would not have a ruling class, but much has changed since that wonderful Document was written. Political parties and partisan politics rule the day, and many in both parties have trampled all over the Constitution. We, as Tea Party activists, or Conservative activists, must get us back on track to the original intent of the Founding Fathers.
How do we do this?
1) The Tea Parties are an excellent way to get our voices out there for all to hear. But it is not enough to shout and fuss, at the latest outrage visited upon our freedoms, even though that is a big part. We must also say how we want our elected officials to represent us and run the Government. When they go to Washington, the people must stay vigilant and remind them of the reason they were sent there in the first place. This election cycle is critical to stop the road to Statism.
2. I am mainly a blogger and not a leader of anything. I help out our local Tea Party as much as possible, but I am busy in many online activities and blogs. Blogging is a good way to get your voice out there, your opinions matter. You can start your own blog for not that much money, free at many places, or you can join a group blog, such as RedState or the Minority Report; I am a member at both sites. Blogging is an inexpensive way to get your voice heard.
3. Get involved in you local Republican Party. They are always looking for people to help with phone banks, walking precincts and other help the party, tasks. Call your local Republican Headquarters and ask what they need. It could be to help get out the vote (GOTV) on election day: such as driving people to polls or calling to ask if people have voted yet, and reminding them to go vote.
4. You can become a Precinct Committeeman ( for information go to The Precinct Committeeman Project for details on how to do this. Or, you might consider becoming a candidate yourself!
This November is about many things, but the most important one is really you, the people, who need to go vote for the right individuals to represent us in Washington, and help take back our government.
Prop C Passes easily
(originally posted at St Louis Examiner)
Proposition C passes by an overwhelming support. 73% – 27% Will the people in Washington, DC finally get the message. We do not want the nanny state and the Government dictating how we live our daily lives.
via Ballotpedia:
The Missouri Health Care Freedom, Proposition C is on the August 3, 2010 statewide ballot in Missouri as an legislatively-referred state statute. The proposed measure aims to block the federal government from requiring people to buy health insurance and bans punishment for those without health insurance.[1][2][3]
Backers of such measures are opposed to President Barack Obama’s new health care plans. The measure does not advocate a particular plan but measure advocates say the measure will “protect the individual’s right to make health care decisions.” Opponents of the measures and some constitutional scholars say the proposals are mostly symbolic, intended to send a message of political protest, and have little chance of succeeding in court over the long run.[4]
On May 4, 2010 the Missouri State Senate voted 26-8 in favor of referring the proposed measure to the ballot.[5] On May 11 the House gave final approval to refer the measure to the ballot following a 108-47 vote.[6][7][8]
Although similar measures are scheduled to appear on other 2010 statewide ballots, Missouri’s Proposition C marks the first time voters will have a say on blocking the federal government’s 2010 health care reform.[9]
A “yes” vote is a vote to amend current Missouri law to deny the government authority to “penalize citizens for refusing to purchase private health insurance or infringe upon the right to offer or accept direct payment for lawful healthcare services.” A “no” vote is a vote to reject the proposed referendum.
Reports out of Missouri are predicting a low turnout of voters on August 3, as there have been no television advertisements or debates. The Missouri Secretary of State is expecting a voter turnout of 24 percent.[10]
The Federal Governement has gotten too intrusive of every day life, and needs to be scaled back and go back to the original intent of the Constitution. A limited government will help the economy grow and will give us more freedom and liberty to live our lives the way we want to.
The Government should limit the scope of the intrusion into states and everyday life. With that said, the goverenmrnt does need to have some regulation on people and business, but not to the extent it is now. Now it is too much of a nanny and controls our everyday lives more than the original intent of the Constitution.
Dan Benishek
(Origianally posted at Stix Blog)
This year is one of those defining moments for this country. The Democrats have had control of Congress since 2006 and the economy has gone downhill since. There is an anti-incumbent fever sweeping the country.
This is also the year for Conservatives to take back the GOP from those that act like Democrats, and cater to special interest groups.
I usually do not endorse candidates in primaries, but this year is different. I have met many people from across the country, and have kept an eye on several candidates. One of those is Dan Benishek. I remember being on Twitter the day Stupak and his crew stabbed a figurative knife into their pro-life supporters and voted for Obamacare. And Dan’s name was fired back and forth on Twitter. I am sure Dan Benishek was overwhelmed by that initial onslaught of support. After all, he was a citizen activist, not a career politician.
Then along came Jason Allen, a career politician and an SEIU backed Republican, who joined in the race. And the shenanigans began. In these final days of the campaign, Jason Allen, with help from his SEIU supporters, has launched a smear campaign against Dr. Dan. Same tactics that Democrats use with their SEIU and ACORN supporters against their opponents.
Dan is man of Conservative principles and integrity, and is the type of candidate we need in this election cycle. He has the backing of many in the Tea Party Movement and Conservative Movement throughout the country.
I fully endorse Dan Benishek for Congress and would hope all of you will help his campaign out as much as you can. Give money, make phone calls to get the word out, and help fight the smears from the SEIU thugs that Allen has sent out to try and bring down Dan.
I started this race back in January when I realized I couldn’t take it anymore. The previous year, the Democrats had passed an enormous Stimulus bill, spending nearly a trillion dollars, and they didn’t even read the bill! It was filled with payoffs and paybacks to special interest groups. This is not only typical behavior of the Democrats, but also of career establishment Republicans as well.

Bobby Jindal Speaking at Rally For Economic Survival — Open Thread
While the President tried to shut down drilling operations in the Gulf Of Mexico, Bobby Jindal and many others gathered in the Cajun Dome to rally to stop the moratorium on drilling.
Governor Bobby Jindal gives a speech at the Rally For Economic Survival in Lafayette, Louisiana. Over 11,000 people gathered at the Cajun Dome to protest what they say is an assault on Louisiana’s economy by President Barack Obama.
MSM Bias
As more and more people find out that most of the MSM are just shills for for the Democrat Party, the better the country will be.
As EE posted on the FP today, the Journolist were in full force to protect the Boy wonder who would become the Boy King. The MSM tried to protect Obama from his association to a (Black) Liberation Theology priest, who was a former Muslim also.
As with most newsworthy stories like this, only Fox News and the New Media (Bloggers) were running the story. You would think that the MSM would try and look into the past of Obama, hell they found a DUI that Bush had many years ago on the eve of the elections. But we have nothing on Obama from the MSM, no school records, no past arrests if there were any, no digging to see who Obama was.
The MSM was fully behind the Obama campaign and were much too eager to get behind the “First Viable Black Candidate”. I guess Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are just nobodies, well at least in the eyes of the MSM, unless they are on the next crusade against “Whitey”
Journalism today is nothing like it was in the past. With the 24 hour news cycle, the MSM need to fill in stories, when before you only had 1/2 hour of news a night for the most part. So you would think that the MSM would be all over this story to fill in those 24 hours in the day. Well, they could not say anything bad about the boy who would become king:
…
Thomas Schaller, a columnist for the Baltimore Sun as well as a political science professor, upped the ante from there. In a post with the subject header, “why don’t we use the power of this list to do something about the debate?” Schaller proposed coordinating a “smart statement expressing disgust” at the questions Gibson and Stephanopoulos had posed to Obama.
“It would create quite a stir, I bet, and be a warning against future behavior of the sort,” Schaller wrote.
Tomasky approved. “YES. A thousand times yes,” he exclaimed.
“Kenneth Gladney Not Black Enough” to Protect – He’s an “Uncle Tom”
Originally posted at St Louis Examiner
Remember last year when Russ Carnahan had the sham of a Townhall and Kenneth Gladney got beaten down from a bunch of SEIU thugs???? Welll, the NAACP thinks that Kenneth Gladney is an “Uncle Tom” and would not help him.
via GateWay Pundit
On May 5th, 2010The Missouri NAACP hosted a press conference and rally on behalf of Perry Molens and Elston McCowan, demanding the county prosecutor drop assault charges stemming from an attack outside Russ Carnahan’s townhall in South St. Louis County on Health Care last August. Molens and McCowan were arrested after the staged Carnahan eventin August after theybeat, kicked and stomped onblack vendor Kenneth Gladney. The two Russ Carnahan supporters andSEIU membersalsocalled Kenneth the n-wordas they bashed him into the cement……
Here is the unbelievable video of the racist NAACP event. The two men accused of attacking Gladney go on trial this month. Elston McCowan, the man standing next to the speaker, can be seen laughing whenthe speaker says Gladney is not a brother.
This is utterly amazing that the NAACP would call Kenneth Gladney an “Uncle Tom” . He was just there selling flags to the people. This should show you that the NAACP is nothing more than a shill for the Democrat Party and will not help out Conservative African-Americans, even though Kenneth Gladney is not a Conservative or a Republican, he was there just to make some money.
