We all know John Edwards thinks we are all stupid. The only other explanation for his actions is that his IQ is at walk-in cooler level. First we were treated to him decrying subprime mortgage lenders while acting as a consultant to one. Now we have another instance:
Former senator John Edwards, who has been throwing punches at Rupert Murdoch and his Fox News Channel, demanded yesterday that the other Democratic presidential candidates return contributions from Murdoch's media conglomerate.
"John Edwards will never ask Rupert Murdoch for money -- he won't accept his money," said a statement e-mailed to supporters.
Not so fast, Murdoch's people say. His publishing unit, HarperCollins, paid Edwards a $500,000 advance -- and $300,000 in expenses -- for his 2006 book "Home: The Blueprints of Our Lives."
"We assume the senator is going to give back the money from his advance," News Corp. spokesman Brian Lewis said.

it's reimbursment for expenses as well as an advance on expected sales revenue. Ahh the adavantages of a law degree.

God he just SCREAMS phony with everything that is in him, doesn't he. I can't believe that this clown was ever elected to anything.

Edwards is completely 100 percent UDA manufactured. Not a bit of sincerity there.
I didn't trust Edwards during the 2004 presidential campaign. There's something about personal injury lawyers that just makes me cringe. Perhaps that book money will help to pay for Edwards' several hundred dollar haircuts? ;)

Edwards is writing a book about homes? You just can't make this stuff up.
....Edwards is so desperate for fundraising and to appease the radical kook fringe of the Democrat party that he is pulling out all the stops. These days he's either attacking the old reliable bogeymen of the left like Rupert Murdoch, Fox News, Ann Coulter (well, his wife did that), or making dubious claims like "they want to shut me up". Who exactly wants to "shut him up" is never explained. Personally, the more average people hear from this guy the better in my opinion. He illustrates better than anyone how various pimple-faced kooks have seized control of the Democrat party.

The Chevy Chase of political candidates. However, he's impossible to parody. It would be perceived as a news clip.

Vista really sucks!
but I don't think John Edwards is the sexiest woman alive, hairdos only get you so far and I doubt he'd look good in a bikini. Now my librarian, that's a sexy woman ! Maybe I can convince her to run for president.

If Edwards has given $800,000 to charity, then any Democrat who has ever given a substantially less amount to charity which is at least equal to the amount they've accepted from any of Murdoch's companies can also claim that it was "Murdoch's money" that they gave.
But beyond the fact that Edwards would have gotten substantial tax advantages from such a large contribution to charity, there's also the likelihood (if the book earned more than the advance given to Edwards) that Murdoch enriched his coffers by sales of Edward's book. In Edward's reality, the money that Edwards earned for Murdoch, was then used to attack Democrats.
In addition to donating his advance to charity, Edwards needs to also donate whatever amount Murdoch made from sales of his book. Think that will happen?
But how do you accrue $300,000 in expenses for writing a book?

There's the America where people know all the details of their half million dollar transactions, and then there's the America where they don't care about such piddling little transactions.
