And to think that there are or were some people who believe(d) that Bobby Jindal was all hype:
The state Legislature on Friday wrapped up its second special session during the 2-month-old administration of Gov. Bobby Jindal by completing a full sweep of the governor's proposed package of business tax cuts and $1.1 billion in surplus spending priorities.
Jindal and his legislative allies won all the initiatives they set out to accomplish during the six-day session, including a controversial bill to grant a partial tax deduction for private school tuition.
Flanked by many members of his supporting team of lawmakers at an evening news conference, the governor framed the results as a positive statement on Louisiana's national image.
"This group should be proud of batting a thousand," Jindal said. "The country's watching us ... we know they'll like what they see."
(Via the Corner.) Lots of us do. And lots of us will remember what we are seeing after a Presidential election cycle or two. One way or another, Bobby Jindal is going to find his way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Bobby Jindal seems to be one of those rare politicians that is guided by doing the right thing for the people, not for himself. I love how resolute he is, and his moral clarity exudes conservatism. Go Bobby go!

I am so impressed that I am ready to sign up now
I wouldn't crown him champion yet. Yes, this is all very promising, but what we have here is a winning streak to open the season. Many such players and teams go on to win the championship, but many more crash and burn on their way there. Let's wait and see how he does through the long, hard slog.

Well of COURSE he won't be as good later as he is now. He rode in with a crushing victory and a clear mandate during a time of great need when the voters were demanding things be cleaned up, and fast!
He'll keep this up for a year, two if we are lucky, and then will probably be forced to slow down. But at this rate, all he'll have to do is not screw up too badly for the rest of his time in office to be a genuine rock star.

later. As things flow & ebb, how he handles the "ebb" will tell alot - & I have high hopes for him. We can see how Obama's mishandling of his "ebb" is costing him...

If you haven't read Rush's interview of Bobby Jindal, you really should.

When I read it, I was instantly sold on the idea of high office for this man. My only hope at the time was that he would do well in the Governor's seat and earn the ticket.
His progress so far is outstanding.
