How about all this silence?

I'm not sure exactly what we've done to John Cole to invoke his trademark hysterical ire, but I can't imagine it being anything so serious that it excuses him from even flirtation with the facts. Here's John:
Bob Ney has plead guilty, further exposing the depths of corruption in the GOP, and Red State, the blog for conservatives and conservative thought, is silent. Well, they are cheering about Air America going bankrupt.
Clap louder.
Yeah, John, just look at all this silence we've been having around here about Bob Ney. Yes, we've just been strangely silent around here about crooked Republicans.
It's funny, I never expected John to take lessons from Mark Kleiman - I expected him to use Kleiman tactics even less when we'd already pre-emptively acceeded to his demand, but there you have it. John Cole apparently dislikes the fact that we wrote a story on a topic that might interest our readers, instead of the twentieth installment of a story that they're probably already sick of. This makes us something, but I'm not sure that "Tinkerbell's Taskmasters" is it.

...Bob Ney hasn't become less of a corrupt little weasel in the last month.
(Shaking head) The man is taking himself, us and this communications medium way too seriously.

Remember, guys. Just a little while ago I was willing to pack up my bags and go home over the Foley scandal until Hastert took some responsibility for getting us back on track.
And I am pretty much damn sure that I am the *only* person on this blog who initially started talking about Jack Abramoff before he became persona non grata and then who ACTUALLY SPOKE WITH HIM in person via email, on several occasions, and in the course of those conversations realized that he was a bad man indeed, and changed my mind. Abramoff actually tried to use me to front for him here, on RedState. Unfortunately, it became apparent to me fairly quickly as a result of my "ingenue" sessions with him that Jack Abramoff was in fact as guilty as sin. Good riddance.
Our most senior of editors can validate that, and my subsequent posts about Abramoff can also serve to validate how much I felt I needed a shower after having spoken to him. I also wish that more people at this blog had been aware of the emerging Foley scandal before it ever hit ABCNews. The people here would have been asking the tough questions before it became a catastrophe. I know I would have.
At this point, though, especially coming from Cole, seems a bit over-the-top. Ney was a drunk. As far as I know, so was Foley. And Abramoff was Abramoff -- truly in a league of his own when it comes to creating alternative histories. Frankly I'm glad all of them are gone and hopefully the Republicans in Congress can convince the rest of America that they are, too. Kind of an uphill battle, I'll admit.

I may not have front-paged it, but I also wrote this about Ney.
Are their different ways to say it? Probably. Maybe some could have added bits about various types of slow torture.
Or every single person who posts on this blog could have affixed "Pox on the awful Bob Ney" to the end of their posts or comments.

that the Redstate post was not an act of "cheering about Air America going bankrupt." I announced it and analyzed it. At its inception, Air America was described as the lefty alternative to conservative talk radio, and it's failure is indicative of the actions of our political foes.
Bob Ney finally had to resign. This is a good thing, that he was caught and removed, and it was duly noted when it happened.
After the election, I promise a lengthy piece of what a bad guy Bob Ney has been. For now, the Republican of note in Ohio's 18th CD is Joy Padgett (official web site).
