Our compliments to Markos Moulitsas, the Left's... Karl Rove.

Link via HuffPo. Quite the coup...
[OK, now that Markos himself is indicating that this is the person that he was referring to as balancing him, we can run with that.]
Anyway, after his continuing attempts to get our goat, Markos writes:
Newsweek actually got this right, for once. They balanced out a movement progressive with a movement conservative. In years past, Rove's "balance" would've been Bob Shrum. Now, they're apparently starting to realize the difference between a movement partisan and an establishment hack.
...which is mostly right, actually. The places where it isn't? Well, to start off with, this balance - and I'm curious; the more I read the press releases, the less I get the impression that Moulitsas and Rove are going to be doing any sort of head-to-head - is actually involving balancing out an Establishment Democrat with an Establishment Republican. The second thing wrong? Dude, it isn't Karl Rove that Bob Shrum would balance in this particular equation.
But that's being mean. Enjoy your new media gig, Markos. We certainly will.

I think that alone squashes any idea he and Moe are the same person.

We are all heroes, you and Boo and I. Hamsters and rangers everywhere, rejoice!
"We have always sought to represent a diversity of views in Newsweek, and we think Markos will be a great part of that tradition."
uh, exactly how does he diversify the existing views at Newsweek?
But I bet you that Rove will be able to skillfully reveal the true colors of Mr. Markos. Beyond the "sweet smelling" opposition to Iraq (and by sweet smelling, I mean opposition to Iraq is "popular", not that I endorse that view); but the true sentiment and driving force behind that website is anti-religion and pro-homosexual rights. The rest is just a smokescreen for the true agenda.
...I'm starting to get the impression that there won't be any. Moulitsas will have a column, and so will Rove: I'm not seeing anything that actually indicates that they'll be going HtH.
Which would be a disappointment, if true.
The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!
years ago with his "Screw them" remarks. He will support any Anti-American terrorist group anyway, any where, any time.
You see Mr. Markos is a tough, fighting Democrat. Mixing bug eyed enthusiasm with his vaunted military record, Mr. Markos is no limp-wristed fey Democrat of the past. He's tender, but TOUGH!
He shouts "Racists!" to Republicans while being racist.
He shouts "Don't question my patriotism!" while constantly denouncing the United States, even her history as evil.
He shouts "I'm a veteran and have the authority to speak about all things military" and then goes on and supports his moveon buddies by defaming our commanders in the field (who are doing their job, not because of their politics but because it's their job).
He screams "Homophobe" while then outting politicians he disagrees with.
I don't want to say what I really think. I'd get banned for sure. He is nothing more than a lucky idiot with good timing who got there first in the Liberal blogosphere.
If I was Karl Rove, everyone of my articles would end with P.S. So how did your annointed one Lamont do in Connecticut?
Of course you are first going to notice the hysteria over Iraq and the constant bitching about that. But, if you look through the Iraq fog, you will find one common theme. You mentioned it, I won't again.
He'd never agree to that. Kos has more lib rage than brains. What sets him apart from the other moonbats is his ability (rare among libs) to recognize that.
He doesn't have Rove's brains, and he knows it. No way in Hades will those 2 interact.
90% will be anti-Iraq War and will include references to his vaunted "military veteran status" and then drone on and on about his opposition to War with some canards about how we should concentrate on "getting OBL".
The other 10% will reference some perceived racial or gender issue or immigration and will include the inevitable line about how Republicans hate "blacks, women, immigrants...and "gays"". The crafted comment that makes sensible people ask why in the heck is he including "gays" in that list of aggrieved? Of course the point being if you are against slavery, in favor of women voting, believe that legal immigration is good, then you MUST favor homosexuals marrying or you are against the first three.
is like a blind guy starting a knife fight.
any of the regulars here on Redstate could destroy Markos within minutes.

Kos would wet on the carpet if confronted with Franz!
But seriously, he couldn't hold a "conversation" with most contributors here. He'd just immediately start calling names and making baseless accusations as he knows facts, figures and reality are not on his side.
To be fair, that's all you guys have done in this thread. I haven't seen any legit/referenced statements or anything. Everyone just associates Kos with the Devil because, well, that's the cool thing to do here.
Also, FrankJones, every post I see from you concerns your outrage about "gay 'rights'!". Unless you're supposed to be an ironic sockpuppet, I wonder why you really care so much about that issue? Of all the issues to bicker about in every post, you're really that pissed off about the "gay agenda!1"? Chill. Unless the Dems force you to pay a tax so gays can have marriages in your evangelical church, I don't think you need to stress out about the existance of people who - gasp! - have feelings for their own sex. It happens. There's bigger stuff to bicker about endlessly.
We are currently calculating what, if any, value to assign to it.

Rather, I think he is a bug eyed fool who is piggybacking on the opposition to the War in Iraq to promote (other than himself) his other 2 issues: hostility towards religion and support of "gay" rights. I hope Mr. Rove is able to pull back te curtain on Mr. Markos's real self.
I "care" so much about opposing homosexual marriage for a couple of reasons: 1) I think opposing said is a winning political issue and 2) I think that the legal elites in this country are forcing this issue down the throats (no pun intended) of the people who clearly oppose such.
Finally, where is it written (other than regularly at dailykos) that if you oppose homosexual marriage then you are opposed to homosexuals choosing to engage in sexual relationships with each other? As clearly a big supporter of homosexual marriage I can understand why you would want to make and force that correlation, but it belies reality.
Do you plan on turning to support gay marriage when it - inevitably - becomes a "winning political issue" in the coming decades? While I do respect your views - and I'm not trying to be pompous here - I'm sure you can see that the younger generation has a significantly tolerant and friendly perspective on homosexuality. It's inevitable that the tides will shift as the older generations are replaced by the new generation.
Also, the way you frame your thoughts (i.e. by putting "gay" in quotations like that) displays a very negative attitude, almost implying that you question the legitimacy of gays as a real community within our nation. If I have misunderstood your use of quotes, then I apologize for making such a hasty accusation. Ultimately, if you do respect homosexuals but oppose simply gay marriage, then I just wish you would make your posts indicate that rather than coming across as staunchly bigoted against gays.
At some point in time the younger generation will depend less upon Jon Stewart, MTV, the stars of stage and screen, and most importantly college professors for their views on the homosexual issues.
I was a college student once, you polled me and my peers back then and while homosexual issues were not prevalent, I bet we would poll high on the question of "do you believe work/class should not start until at least 11:00 AM". In the real world, I have come to realize that might not work?!
I use "gay" because in the effort for accuracy, I use homosexual to describe such individuals. I know "gay" is the marketing scrubbed term, because "gay" can mean being a good neighbor, taxpayer, teacher of life lessons and all around good folk, which a homosexual, granted, can be, but it ignores the reality of what (acts) these good folks definte themselves by.
There's a huge disparity between discussing a moral issue like respect for a group of individuals and some absurd and amoral like what time to start work.
The younger generation will not grow older and have some epiphany that gay marriage - which they previously supported - is actually the source of all that's wrong in society. You know why they won't? Because it's not. And if you have the slightest response to that, I would love to hear it; I have yet to meet anyone who can legitimately give me a reason of how gay marriage will affect their lives negatively.
to have a "gay" marriage, as in one recognized by law hurts me in this following way. It demeans my religion, and my 3000+ years of tradition. It debases the language by creating an oxymoron. It insults my intelligence by equating what gays do to the sacred familial bonds between a man and woman. It gives a special consideration to a whiny special interest group.
It is also a trojan horse to let gays rape the system for insurance and other benefits.
Let them have some sort of domestic partnership that allows them some ability to control assets during sickness and things like that, I don't care, but don't call it marriage because it's not and never will be.

Vista really sucks!
Two guys who have always moaned and whined about the mainstream media will now take a paycheck from the mainstream media.
Kos has none of the credentials of achievement or experience that Rove does. This is either a fantastical promotion of Kos or a demeaning demotion of Rove. Rove in Time is a good thing, but to class him with Kos is putrid.
Kos beed what he could be in the the military. He is an anti-military hero. "That's all I can stand, I can't stands no more". Popeye.

...Moe Lane and Karl Rove in the same place?
