RedState Endorses Chris Hackett for Congress

If we cannot win back Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District, we have no chance of taking back the Congress. That's life. The district, created in the 4th Congress in 1795, has been in Republican hands since the 1960's. It'd still be in Republican hands if Don Sherwood could have kept his pants on.
In 2006, Chris Carney, a liberal college professor, took the seat. This year, we at RedState hope to take it back with Chris Hackett. Mr. Hackett, a CPA, is both a fiscal and social conservative. He is pro-life and anti-earmarks. His opponent, Chris Carney, has been spending federal dollars on earmarks claiming they bring the bacon home to the tenth. The problem is, Carney can't explain how his vote for fruit fly research in France brings jobs home. Chris Hackett, on the other hand, can deftly explain how growth in Washington kills jobs in the 10th.
The 10th Congressional District is an entrepreneurial district. It has a median income of $35,996.00 and includes the city of Carbondale. Chris Hackett knows the district and, more so than Carney, relates to the district. In an area of Pennsylvania where many of the residents either work for themselves or small businesses, Chris Hackett is also an entrepreneur. Having purchased SHS TechStaffing, a recruiting and temp staffing business, he grew and expanded the company inside the 10th Congressional District and then through Pennsylvania and several other states.
Chris Hackett, unlike his opponent, knows how tax cuts and tax hikes, spending cuts and spending hikes, and regulation and deregulation affect small businesses. We need people with real world experience in Washington. We need people like Chris Hackett in Washington.
RedState encourages you to give what you can. If we can't win back the 10th Congressional District of Pennsylvania, we're going to have a hard time winning back Congress.

Sherwood's pants weren't the problem. His problem was that his defense of his reprehensible conduct was, "I didn't try to strangle my mistress, I tried to massage her neck."
"The Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions."
