Chicago Police Arrest Six Iraq War Protesters for Squirting Fake Blood on Easter Churchgoers
CHICAGO — Six Iraq war protesters disrupted an Easter Mass on Sunday, shouting and squirting fake blood on themselves and parishioners in a packed auditorium.
Three men and three women startled the crowd during Cardinal Francis George's homily, yelling "Even the Pope calls for peace" as they were removed from the Mass by security guards and ushers.
One Mass attendee, Mike Wainscott of Chicago, yelled at the anti-war protesters.
"Are you happy with yourselves?" he said. "There were kids in there. You scared little kids with your selfish act. Are you happy now?"
(Via Gateway Pundit)
Allow me to answer your question for him, Mr. Wainscott: of course he is. You have to understand that people like you are not precisely real to the antiwar movement; you're sort of... animated icons whose only purpose is to move around entertainingly in the background of whatever is this week's Message. They care no more about your feelings as they would care about those of the AI NPCs in their favorite first-person shooter. Less, really: you're unlikely to come out of nowhere and cause them to lose 25 life points.
So don't take it personally; it's not like they see you as one anyway.

PS: Please note, by the way, that it's a reasonably safe guess that none of these fools - or anyone else in the Illinois Coalition for Peace & Justice - will be voting for Senator John McCain in November.

baptised them. By immersion, of course.

CongressCritter™: Never have so few felt like they were owed so much by so many for so little.
I'd hold them under a good long time to make sure the baptism took!

Fighting for conservatism one day at a time.
The "Witness" who attended the services to witness them getting arrested was one Kevin Clark, of the International Solidarity Movement.
That was Rachel Corrie's group.
Reminds me of one of those anti-nuclear protesters who tried to sue when the train ran over his legs. He didn't consider such facts of physical life as momentum when he sat on the tracks.
I cannot find the words to describe how awful these acts were, on one of the holiest days of the Christian calendar, to disrupt a solemn church service that had absolutely nothing to do with anything political whatsoever, just so these self-absorbed, self-righteous boobs can have their 15 minutes of undeserved fame. God it makes me sick. And I'm not even a religious person.
As a downstate Illinois guy I'm sickened by the control Chicago has over our legislature (including the heads of both houses and every committee I'm aware of) and the Chicago control of every state-wide office, including the governor, in spite of them not having a majority of the population.
Don't blame us all for the idiocy of the Chicago crowd. There was a great post yesterday about the Tammany machine of New York. That's the boat in Illinois, but instead of it being the influence of a single group/family it is the control of a single political philosophy. Chicago Democrat is a four letter word here. Most of Illinois is shocked by the excesses of our citizens to the north even if many of our politicians are beholden to the Chicago Dem party fund machine to win downstate.
The Illinois GOP is so painfully irrelevant at the moment they don't hold a single state-wide office and their offices in the General Assembly are so minuscule that the Chicago Dems have bought and paid for super-majorities statewide. The situation hasn't gone all to hell yet because even with their super-majorities they can't agree on the color of... well, you get the idea.
Here in Illinois we get people who don't just defend Obama over the Wright controversy, we have people who curse anyone who doesn't understand Wright himself and will disown you for not understanding how racism from a black man is justified.
And the IL GOP party is so inept they got rid of a perfectly good senatorial candidate because *gasp* he slept with his own wife! Instead Obama got to run against another black man, Alan Keyes... which is spelled Keys in Illinois to ensure that it is 2 four-letter words. And that is how Obama got to the Senate so that these yahoos you're pointing out can have a voice.
Just frightening.

attendees and the Iraq war, but just can't figure that one out.
The parishioners had nothing to do with the decision to go to war, they have no control over the progress of the war, and as far as I know the Catholic church has been pretty opposed to the war.
Seems like the protestors weren't smart enough to figure out who to blame for the war.
yep, on that basis they'll be trying to disrupt Obama rallies next.
they are regressive they are agressive but they are not progressive they are LIBERALS....they want to change their name but they cannot because we know what they are and who they are....pigs.

It is just a matter of time before the term "Progressive" is spit out with the same contempt that "Liberal" is today. The issue is...By then they'll be trying to escape the "Progressive" epithet by calling themselves something else by then.

A better definition of News would be useful. I do not regard events such as temper tantrums, shouting matches, crying when one is not the center of attention, and other childish outbursts to be news. They surely weren't when I was a kid; and no news cameras came flocking around when my kids pulled stunts like that.
I guess folks like these only look like adults...
When I grew up, may parents would have applauded the parishioners for beating my ass and sending me home with a bloody nose for pulling such a stunt!

I'm very curious -- honestly -- how it is that the Obamessiah is going to bring *us* together with these kind, goodhearted, bloodstained folks. After all, isn't that what he's running on? Making everybody feel good by putting a chicken in every pot, a Creme Egg in every easter basket, and an end to all divisions between people, everywhere? Clearly something has to give on the last one, and I'm betting that *we're* the ones who will be asked to pull up stakes, turn off our brains, and meet this crowd on their extreme edge of the spectrum, the center be damned --- all in the name of "unity" and ending the "politics of division."
Vote for him, and we will be forgiven for being conservatives. And, apparently, white.
The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!
The Obama forgiveness, unlike God's grace, isn't given for free. The Obama forgiveness only comes after those with white skin dig deeper into their pockets to provide more social programs. Obama wants more spending on the the failing public education system, more spending on health care, and continuation of Affirmative Action programs (aka legalized discrimination).
As if the $69 billion a month in discretionary transfer payments by HHS & HUD isn't enough.

A very good point
I'd love to hear what Obama has to say about the extreme left sometime...
"Where is the audacity of hope when it comes to backing the success of our troops all the way to victory in Iraq? What we heard last night was the timidity of despair. - John McCain
All it is that these yahoos want is attention, and they got it. They're on the news and even the RedStaters are talking about them. They see that as success.
It's better to ignore them. "Don't feed the trolls"... etc.
We're trying to embarass their allies. We don't care what these little weasels want.

I'm not Catholic but I am appalled that anyone would think this is acceptable behavior! I'm a Christian and abhor violence...I'm a believer in what Jesus preached that "if a man strike thee on on cheek, turn to him the other cheek also" But I'm fighting with my sin nature right now and wishing someone there had mixed a little real blood, and a couple detached teeth to the mix fake blood.
I can't help but wonder how far Jesus and God above expect us to take the turn the other cheek admonition and when we are allowed to take up the sword in righteous indignation!

In their new-age, neo-Marxist world, they are left starving for true spirituality and a just world. They were drawn to the church on Easter like little children unsure of why they chose this church, and then had their tantrum.
They covered themselves with blood because they need to be washed clean. They were shouting because they are unhappy people.
The church members should have smothered them with hugs and invited them to join the service.
Then the Illinois pukes would have been shamed into silence.
Oh, wait. They have no shame. Maybe it was good just to kick them out. To hell with 'em!
"The most dangerous form in which oppression can overshadow a community is that of popular sway" -James Fenimore Cooper
Maybe the church should have conducted an outreach and tried to bring them into the fold but I'm still leaning toward a good, (and well earned) punch in the mouth followed by a prayer for their retched souls!

and feel like these..."people"...would have been taken down very, very hard. The kind where you end up breathing out of a hose for a couple weeks.
The charges are being brought as felonies.
As usual the long-term thinking process of the leftards is exposed.....so when these hip cats are 20 years older and wanting to actually be part of the process (change from within and all that hoohah), their past gets to reach out and touch them.....
to vote will stop them ?

They'll either plead to a misdemeanor, or if the Church wants to play hardball, they'll go to trial and get to plead their case all over the MSM, calling themselves "political prisoners" and all the rest.
Or maybe justice will be served.
