Shut up, Matt Sheffield. How dare you question their integrity!

I missed this one this morning until I saw Jonah Goldberg mention it.
Matt Sheffield, doing his best to turn Maureen Dowd into a suicide bomber outside his apartment, has some interesting facts on Henry A. Lowenstein, a "life long Republican" with a phenomenal track record of getting letters printed in the New York Times decrying evil Republicans.
How dare Matt Sheffield question Mr. Lowenstein or the Grey Lady's integrity! How dare he!
Henry A. Lowenstein, who has managed to get 20 different letters published in the New York Times since 2003, a remarkable feat when you consider that the Times (by its own admission) receives around 1,000 letters a day and prints only 15 on its letters page. That means the odds of the average liberal person (the paper freely admits it favors left-wing letter writers) getting his or her letter printed are about 1.5 percent.
It's worse when you think of the numbers on a yearly scale. In the past five years, the Times has received approximately 1.8 million letters. It's printed 20 of Lowenstein's.
We should all try this, just as a test. We should all write about how we are lifelong Republicans who hate Chimpy McBushhitler Halliburton and see how many of our letters get printed. If you don't want to bash Bush, bash Matt and Newsbusters for daring to question the Grey Lady's integrity! I bet they'll print that one.

Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock.
are the stories about "life-long" democrats that are voting for republicans?
this is rhetorical, of course.
R.J.
...apparently Mr. Lowenstein gives exclusively to liberal Democrats including Sheldon Whitehouse and Barack Obama. Sounds just like all the "lifelong Republicans" I know!

... was a life-long capitalist and freedom lover, Yasser Arafat was a life-long Zionist, and Henry A. Lowenstein is a life-long Republican.
You just gotta love the New York Times.

There are always these "lifelong Republicans" that seem to pop up around elections just in time to bash whomever the current Republican happens to be. The MSM's credibility is almost zero in my opinion.
