Will David Mamet Work In Any Town Ever Again?

Who knows? But after having decisively changed his political affilation, it becomes a pretty interesting question as to how the artistic and literary world receives him from here on out, now doesn't it?
Of course, when it comes to appreciating good writing, I plan on putting politics as far to the side as possible. Still, Mamet's change of heart makes me wonder if anyone else in the artistic and literary world will soon follow. I hope they will; when it comes to great endeavors, one can never have too many illustrious companions.
It's nice to see that Daniel Henninger gave props to Stoppard as well. He may be the wittiest and most inventive playwright around. And he evinces right-of-center libertarian tendencies. What's not to love?
I mean, have you read Travesties? It is wonderful.

And maybe that means he will write a few things with a bit of a conservative world view.

David Zucker has had plenty of credits: Airplane!, The Naked Gun, etc. And he's pretty conservative on economic issues.
Even this hawkish (and funny!) video he did on Iran didn't get him blacklisted:

David Zucker is a rare bird: A conservative in show biz with a terrific sense of humor.
