That's really not good.

4 out of 168. That's 2.38%. That's significant because it explains the divide between the conservative grassroots and the Republican establishment.
Only 4 out of 168 Republican National Committeemen and women are attending CPAC. That's it. 2.3% of the voting members of the Republican National Committee are here.
Now, some might not have the money. Some might not have the time. But consider this -- CPAC is the largest gathering of movement conservatives in the United States of America. You want to get the pulse of the conservative grassroots? Then you want to be at CPAC. The media understands this. The left understands this. 4 RNC committee people understand this. The rest? Eh . . . not so much, it seems.
The heart and soul of the Republican party is conservative. The party leadership would do best to remember that and should be encouraged to come to CPAC and participate.

But then, I'm not an RNC member.

I’m sure it’s a fun time but I could care less if Republican officials or candidates show up. It seems more about promoting the influence of self-appointed “leaders” of the conservative movement – the pundits and leaders of various special interest groups – than anything else. I suppose if you jet with that set or hope to work for one of them some day, promoting CPAC is probably important. For me, not so much.
I'm not a South Park Republican, I'm a King of the Hill libertarian.
It is a pretty good time, as long as you don't feed - or pay close attention to - the five hundred billion College Republicans there, half of which think that the event is a recruitment session for the Karl Rove of tomorrow.
I suspect that this is just more evidence to show the disconnect that has developed over the last five or six years between the Republic Party leadership and the Conservative Movement.

I am a conservative member of the RNC & am not attending because of a wedding. There are many people who have engagements --work, leisure, etc.-- and cannot make the event...
