C. Jack Ellis Loves Hugo Chavez

In a few short months I'll be sworn in as a city councilman in Macon, Georgia. You may have heard about Macon lately. Our mayor declared "solidarity" with Hugo Chavez last week.

Though not elected yet, I'm pleased to say I can still have some influence in the matter. This afternoon I'll be on Fox News to talk about the situation. Likewise, I drafted and encouraged my present City Council members to push a resolution in ordinance form to take on our Mayor.

The ordinance will simply prohibit tax payer funds from being used to fund or reimburse any travel or expenses related to travel or business conducted in any country that is listed as a state sponsor of terrorism by the Secretary of State or certified as not fully complying with American counter-terrorism efforts.

I also have a few questions for Mayor Jack Ellis, who prefers now to be called Hakeem Mansour Ellis.

Does the Mayor stand in solidarity with Chavez's funding of Al Qaeda?

Does the Mayor stand in solidarity with Chavez's rounding up and jailing and, in some cases, killing political dissidents?

Does the Mayor stand in solidarity with Chavez's suppressing independent media?

Does the Mayor stand in solidarity with Chavez saying the United States deserved 9/11 because of "American imperialism?"

Unfortunately, the Mayor fled the country to Gambia to avoid answering any of these questions. As I wrote in our local paper today

Words have meaning. Mayor Ellis's use of the word "solidarity" speaks volumes about what he thinks of this country and those citizens he serves. Or, perhaps not. Given the mayor's public statements connected to his expression of solidarity, it's most likely Mayor Ellis knows nothing of the Bolivarian monster, perhaps through willful ignorance, and just thought it'd be cool to see his name in national papers one more time before he leaves office.

Either way, it is unfortunate.

By the way, you can call Mayor C. Jack Ellis's office and express your outrage at his statement of "solidarity" with Hugo Chavez by calling (478) 751-7170

too. I didn't know that Macon was in the San Francisco Bay Area, I could have sworn it was in Georgia. But you learn something every day. My youngest son is a chef in heart of the City, stop by at Millennium for dinner and send word to kitchen that I sent you.

Macon Whoopees by Skanderbeg

Many moons ago, there was a minor league hockey team in Macon - with the outstanding name of the Macon Whoopees.

Haha.

Sounds like they're back....

The Whoopees need to make an appearance to hand out a little whoopa$$

At least right now (1:15pm), there is an article about this issue on the main page at FoxNews.com

In case it gets bumped off the main page in the near future, here's the link to the article. Alas, Erick is not mentioned....

I can't really say that I'm that surprised. Elected officials and hollywood lefties have all embraced that nutty dictator.

The Dems have gone from a major political party to a bunch of extremest kissing up to the likes of MoveOn.Org and The DailyKos.

There's a new book 'Liberalism & How It's Destroying America' on Amazon. I really sticks it to the libs.

What I don't get is how the by whatifidontwanna

What I don't get is how the Dems in these fairly conservative areas are the ones saying these things even more so than the ones that could get away with it.

I mean the mayor of San Francisco could get away with having sex on TV with a goat named Robert (it'd probably help in some areas) and no one would bat an eye, but these guys?

I know Ellis is term limited, so he doesn't care but what about the SLC guy? Further don't they know their local party will be bludgeoned with these types of comments at the next election. I wonder who will be the mayor of SLC after the next election... I don't think it will be either of these guys, no matter how much Hugo loves em.
