A glimpse inside the Senate Democratic Caucus

RedState has been sent a copy of the Democratic Senate Caucus "wish list" for the next Congress's committee assignments. Very interesting reading, courtesy of the Democratic Steering Committee. All emphasis in original.
Of note: For being the supposed savior of the party, Sen. Obama got nothing significant or prominent. EPW, Foreign Relations over Judiciary, Finance? Also, Sen. Corzine was moved around a lot, even though he’s leaving in two years.

Have the Senate GOP decided the committee ratios already? I heard something to the effect that they may want more than a 2 Senator majority on some committees, given that there are 55 GOP Senators.
Interesting. Committee ratios have not been resolved upon btwn Frist & Reid, so this cannot be final, although everyone's operating under the assumption that it's a 2 seat majority for GOP with Dems losing a seat (rather than GOP picking up one).
To the guy asking about the GOP list, it isn't done yet and probably won't be done until close to the end of December.
Perusing this list, I see my former home state Senators. Chris Dudd is so depressed, he considered running for governor of CT- but the incumbent Governor Jodi Rell has 80% approval. Dudd has a young child (and wife) and may want to go home.
Joe Lieberman has always been a bit fraudulent, but when he ran for office in 1988, he said 18 years was too long to serve in the U.S. Senate. His opponent, Lowell Weicker, coincidentally, had served 18 years. So- where does Joe go?
My bet is the Second Circuit, a gift to the Dems from the GWB. (not the bridge, the President)
So I figure I might as well get the dreams out of the way fast ;)
Keep in mind that the Gov race is in 2005, so if he loses, he can just run for reelection.

Probably doesn't care, except to stay on the Banking Committee which has access to money.
