Democrats in NJ indicted for stealing 9/11 funds

Democratic corruption in New Jersey: funds from 9/11 were diverted by Democrats to Democratic districts.

Hat tip to GayPatriot for this amazing story:

"This evening, I can report exclusively that this scandal will result in impeachment proceedings against NJ State Attorney General Peter Harvey, perhaps as early as Thursday.

Sources in NJ tell GayPatriot that the AG will be accused of misappropriation of homeland security funds in a time of war. Recent news reports have revealed that Harvey's office determined where the funding went."

Stealing from 9/11 in the tri-state area? What with this and Corzine's free banking to his union-boss girlfriend, it looks like NJ Democratic corruption is as bad as the Republicans in OH.

Doug Forrester (R) is running against Corzine. Let's get this story out there.

The latest news from my ridiculous home state of NJ is that the Attorney General Peter Harvey has decided that a full investigation must be done into a waitress who wrote the term "Jew Couple" at the bottom of a Jewish couples' bill in order to distinguish them from other tables in a upscale restaurant.

I'm sure any money funnelling scandal will die now since this story hit the pages.  Here's a link for reference: http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-bill18.html

Corruption and money scandals usually get more press outside of NJ then they do in NJ.  If you ask the average citizen, they wouldn't even know that we live in a corrupt state.

No question by flyerhawk

about the corruption in New Jersey in general.  But to call Corzine's loan corruption is pretty absurd.

It is silly to make the issue the party of the corrupt politician.  People of good character on both sides of the issues dont steal or commit fraud or use questionable methods.  People of bad character on both sides of the issues do steal or commit fraud or use questionable methods.

Politics would be less contentious and more productive if we looked for men/women of good character to carry out the people's business at the various levels of government.

There is no difference between a bad Republican and a bad Democrat.  They are both bad people.

Nobody gets a free pass by SpectatorGirl

Where there is wrongdoing by more than one pol of the same party it suggests collusion. I'm not happy about the OH GOP, and Dems ought to be mad about the corruption of their party in NJ. Remember the governor who resigned? He had diverted 9/11 funds to pay his boyfriend. this is all about that same scandal, stealing 9/11 funds for Dem pet projects.

Please explain this by flyerhawk

Corzine is a Federal Senator.  How do the actions of a State Attorney General relate to his actions?

Tolerating crime by SpectatorGirl

You must be sure that it was an open secret in NJ that Corzine was giving graft to his union boss mistress, and nobody said a word. To be sure, Bank of Corzine is indirectly related to the 9/11 scandal. In that scandal, the previous Gov, the present acting Gov, and the state AG are all now implicated. It's dirty, and heads should roll. You see RS calling for Taft's head on the front page. Why can't Dems ever denounce one of their own when he does wrong?

Well because by flyerhawk

NO ONE has suggested that Corzine has committed ANY crime.

SOME people are trying to make political hay about his forgiven loan to his ex-girlfriend.  But most people realize that this is what wealthy men do.

Just so I know what is the ethical problem with this whole matter?

Suggestion to Doug Forrester--Republican Candidate for Governor-- in his race v. John Corzine.  You need another issue in addition to lowering taxes and corruption.  These issues may get you close, but you won't win in Democratic NJ if that is all you have to offer.  Stop being so cautious.

Your other main issue should be: HOMELAND SECURIY.  This can be a winning issue in NJ. The way to phrase it is to copy what Toni Blair is saying and doing in the UK.  Suggest that deporting the worst of the worst of the Islamic Radicals should be policy in the USA (not just in NJ).   Make John Corzine defend not deporting them, which he will do, taking his cue from the politically correct democratic playbook.  Make it sound like common sense--which it is.

How by flyerhawk

does a State governor deport someone?

He doesn't by sandbox

He doesn't. He advocates a change in Federal Gov't policy.

OK by flyerhawk

But isn't that just empty rhetoric?  Governors have no legal say in Federal law.  Why wouldn't Corzine simply respond "Well instead of dealing with problems I cannot control I will work on Problem Y which I CAN do something about"?

It is true by sandbox

flyerhawk,

It is true that Governors have no jurisdiction over Federal law.  However, the view of deporting the worst of the worst Islamofascists has to be a popular view, even in New Jersey.  Remember many of those killed on 911, who worked at the World Trade Center, lived in New Jersey.  Articluating this view would also get Forrester lots of free TV time and national attention.  What politican, other than one from Berkeley or like areas would want to be on the wrong side of the issue.  Only a suggestion.

is against deporting Islamofascists.  Certainly Corzine isn't.

I'm not saying that being tough on terrorists is  a bad position.  I just don't know how much mileage he can get from it.  How will he be able to differentiate from Corzine on this?

Here's the problem... by TheMentor

If you lived in NJ you wouldn't even know a governor's race is going on in the first place, much less would you know who Doug Forrester is.  Also, Corzine's and Forrester's platforms are virtually identical.  The sad thing is, is that whoever gets elected, neither will do what they say, it will just get worse and worse.  I don't think either of them can resist the temptation to be corrupt and powerful, it's just too difficult.

If I was governor in NJ, my motto would be swift, certain, and severe.

I think most people by flyerhawk

know who Forrester is.  But even the ardent Republican friends I have seem, at best, indifferent to Forrester.

For a Republican to win he needs to stand out.  Doug Forrester really doesn't stand out.

Movie quote by E Pluribus Unum

I'm shocked, SHOCKED to find that there's Democrat corruption going on in NJ.

I failed to notice this story in my morning readings of the NYT and WaPo, nor did I notice it in the ABC/NBC/CNN/CBS newscasts.....

Did I somehow overlook it?  Silly me, I stopped reading when I got to page A38 to catch the Airhead America scandal.

Maybe because by flyerhawk

a rumor on gaypatriot.net isn't exactly considered gospel quite yet?

That's just the rumor de jour by E Pluribus Unum

And I give it the approximate weight I feel it deserves -- interesting, and quite likely substantial, considering the recent history there, although I'm not running to VegasOnline.com to bet the over/under on Corzine's resignation.

But I'd bet a gold brick that there's 10x as much evidence for this story as there was for the 'Bush ANG memos' story, the 'tons of weapons missing at Al Qaqaa' story, and the 'Roberts hates women' story -- all of which have been multiple-day banner-leading stories at the NYT.

Okay, scratch that, that's a bad bet.  10 x 0 = 0, so that puts no onus on gaypatriot.net to provide ANY evidence.

But I can see the NYT/WaPo/CBS/ABC/NBC/CNN dilemma here.  The world is sitting on the edge of its proverbial seat for news of every move and utterence of the redoubtable Ms Sheehan.  Hard to squeeze in any other news.
