It's Official: MSNBC is chopped liver!

At yesterday's White House press thing on Air Force One, the WashPost's Jim VandeHei, also a regular on MSNBC, had a small fit because incoming White House Press Secretary Tony Snow was a long time FOX employee and all the WH televisions were tuned to that network, not CNN.

"It's come to my attention that there's been requests -- this is a serious question -- to turn these TVs onto a station other than Fox, and that those have been denied," VandeHei told McClellan, who is soon to be replaced by former Fox anchor and self-described conservative Tony Snow.

"My question would be, is there a White House policy that all government TVs have to be tuned to Fox?" VandeHei asked.

"Never heard of any such thing," McClellan responded. "My TVs are on four different channels at all times."

VandeHei said he was talking about the one the reporters could see, and FOX is biased, and taxpayers were paying for the TV. Also, VandeHei added, FNC was probably on Air Force One. McClellan said he's never heard a complaint about it.

VandeHei replied, "I'm officially raising it, and officially complaining about it."

Within 18 minutes, MSNBC contributors Jim VandeHei had his CNN. Brit Hume reported this Thursday evening with something of upturns in the corners of his lips.

Since NBC's David Gregory runs the White House press corps, it seems in a sense, it appears that he had no objections to MSNBC being ignored. It's not a real network, anyway.

A sad indicator by AcademicElephant

A sad indicator of how far MSNBC has fallen off my radar was that last night when everything else was on some sort of simultaneous black hole of a commercial I thought I would flip over and I couldn't remember what channel it was.

Another sad indicator by lordmarcus

Is that had once actually bothered to memorize it!!!!

At least by 10ksnooker

We now know what the White House press corpse thinks is important.

...oh.  Right.  Point taken.

If paying taxes implies ownership the corollary would be why am I paying taxes at all, or do I hereby own the poor and homeless?

And if this schmuck VandeHie isn't an official how does he make an official complaint.  And if a private citizen what court or law enforcement agency is aboard AF 1 to process it?  Indubitably the man is a anus orifce.

Bias I won't even get into.

I understand the complaint.  I mean, how will these guys know what asinine questions to ask if they're not getting their talking points from CNN?

Simple Solution by rchdmess

It's simple, they just ask their bosses at the DNC.

Question by ryanpickett

Why does the WH Press Corp need CNN to get the "news." I mean, it's not like they all gather their talking points from one place and simply repe-......

Uh, nevermind.  I answered my own question.

What a complete baby this guy is.  If I were MSNBC I would not want this type of publicity.  I mean, everyone has their preferences and the WH people like Fox...and since Fox is conistently #1 it looks like the WH isn't the only one with this preference.

I used to watch Scarborough Country, but Joe Scarborough has been possessed by Ted Kennedy. He has even started attacking religious conservatives which, I believe supported him at one time.

The press corps is all a bunch of liberals just looking for CNN to feed them their latest talking points.  God forbid they watch a news network that presents both sides.
