Larry Johnson Continues His Jihad

Will the real Barry Soetero please stand up...

The aptly named Larry Johnson has posted more revelations on Barack Obama’s birth certificate.

I’ve got to tell you that I don’t know whether my head or sides were splitting after reading the “forensic analysis”.

Here’s the simple summary–an authentic [certificate of live birth] COLB was used as a template to create the so-called “birth certificate” that was first posted at Daily Kos and the official Barack Obama campaign site. Why doesn’t Barack come clean with his own, genuine Certificate of Live Birth? We do not know for sure but it appears that the name listed is that of BARRY SOETORO. Barry Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro and, by virtue of that adoption, was registered as Barry Soetoro in Hawaii.

As silly as all this sounds the aptly named Johnson asks a very pertinent question. Why doesn’t the Obama campaign come forward with his actual honest to gosh birth certificate?

My question is: where are Dan Rather and Mary Mapes when you really need them?

    Why do we really care about Obama’s birth certificate?

    I mean, if he published a false one, it goes to credibility of the witness and all, and any refusal to do so undercuts his position on “politics as usual,” but why is this a big issue in the first place?

    Curiosity, really.

    I honestly don’t know.

    As to the question posed above, the rumor has been that when Obama was born in the Sixties the birth certificates required a listing under “religion.” Other rumors relate to paternity and so forth. My guess is that this is more typical Obama hubris than damage control. This wasn’t a big issue, either, until Obama decided to stonewall for whatever reason. To be fair, he cannot be held responsible for the Daily Kooks’ forgery.

    This tempest in a teapot aside, Johnson is one PO’ed piece of work. If these aren’t public records I’m sure he’ll obtain a real one and dump it into the public domain soon enough for whatever reason.

    If Larry Johnson is right, and at this stage there is no reason to believe that he is, then Obama may not have been born in of US parents and not in the US.

    That would on its face disqualify him from the presidency.

    I’d think we’d all be interested in answering this question.

    If the Birth Certificate shows a foreign birth with an adoption, then Obama is ineligible for the presidency. At least that is the theory.

    I personally was adopted and my Birth Certificate has my current name, not the one given to me at birth, so there are some allowances to make changes based on adoption.

    Larry Johnson is a guy with next to zero credibility, BUT the continual refusal to release the original keeps driving this controversy.

    Only the individual, or the parents in the case of a minor, can get a copy.

    Birth records, on the other hand, are public information. But those would not cover home births and a number of other situations.

    I have to admit, this refusal by Obama is very very curious. It would be trivial to put it to bed, and their refusal to do so makes everyone go “hmmm”.

    here, either. Wouldn’t a birth certificate have to be provided to the Secret Service or the Federal Election Commission or another federal agency before someone could receive protection, be qualified to run, and so forth?

    It is odd that he won’t release it either way, but this is one arrogant SOB so it may be nothing more than stubborness.

    It’s never really come up before, I don’t think. There’s never been anyone that’s been a serious candidate who’s also had questionable “bona fides” under the Natural Born Citizen provision of the Constitution.

    Given the current refusal, I think the BC must raise questions and not answer them. Possibly showing that Obama is actually adopted and that is mother is not biological. While this would not prove he was foreign born, it also would not prove he wasn’t. The easiest way to keep from being put in a situation to prove the unprovable is to stonewall.

    Or it could be stubborness too.
