Michelle Obama: Martyr

While you and I have been lounging around waiting for old folks to die needlessly because we’re against Obamacare, Michelle Obama has been doing the hard work on our behalf. She’s visiting Copenhagen.

In her speech in Copenhagen today, First Lady Michelle Obama said her trip to Denmark, along with the travel of her “dear friend” and “chit-chat buddy” Oprah Winfrey, as well as tomorrow’s visit by President Obama, is a “sacrifice” on behalf of the children of Chicago and the United States. “As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days,” the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, “so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home.”

The first question that comes to mind is “which freakin’ people are saying that spending several days in luxurious accommodations in Copenhagen is a sacrifice?” Because you need to get the Secret Service to keep them away from the president because they are seriously psychotic.

The level of self absorption in this administration is simply mind boggling and is probably exceeded only by their sense of entitlement.

And if you stopped to wonder why the president felt this is the best use of his time, you can stop worrying.

Mrs. Obama said bringing the Olympics to Chicago is especially important right now because “athletics is becoming more of a fleeting opportunity.” “Funds dry up so it becomes harder for kids to engage in sports, to learn how to swim, to even ride a bike,” she said. In addition, with childhood obesity on the rise, “it is so important for us to raise up the platform of fitness and competition and fair play,” the first lady said.

Oh well, I’ve got to go apply for my government grant to teach my daughter to ride her bike.

Could someone please tell me why Michelle was barred from practicing law?
It appears Obama and her are scrubbing the internet.
Also this illegal presidency will go down in history as one with no background due to them both having used many fake social security numbers and sealing there records.

Ps. Excellent site ,thankyou for getting the truth out there.

In order for the people of Chicago to be portrayed as grateful for receiving the Olympic games, the most important thing is that Obama’s trip to Copenhagen to secure that is seen as a “sacrifice.”

Oprah wants to portray Chicago as being grateful for the Games so badly that she’s probably thinking of devoting an entire week of her show to thanking the International Olympic Committee and lightly scolding the tepid supporters for “not sacrificing” as she did when she went to Copenhagen.

It’s a much better frame for Oprah and Michelle if they can talk about how everyone sacrificed to bring the games to Chicago — for the kids! — instead of muscling them there, twisting and breaking arms, and/or greasing the people behind the scenes or intimidating them in any way, shape or form. You just need to understand how these things get done for the public in Chicagoland. The most important lesson is: “Hey, people sacrificed to get this for you, so you’d better appreciate it, understand?”

    • kowalski

Furthermore, the Olympic Games being in Chicago are going to bring hundreds of thousands of people from all around the world, and almost all of those people are going to have to fly into…

      O’Hare Airport.

Now, it might not seem very important to you that O’Hare Airport gets that kind of traffic, because you don’t live under the Daley Administration, but the Mayor knows just how important it is, because his (enormously controversial) expansion plans for O’Hare Airport have always been one of his most important priorities, stretching back most of the past decade.

Well, there will never be a better reason to expand O’Hare Airport than having the Olympic Games in Chicago. It almost *has* to happen if Chicago gets the Games.

That could be one of the many reasons this guy discovered he was so allergic to aspirin.

    • qurys

I don’t know….but it seems the kids of Chicago have a pretty good handle on their own idea of fair play. Not that this weeks sad display is an Olympic event…..but while the “chit-chat buddies” of off “sacrificing” for the kids, the kids are showing them how appreciative they really are for all the hard Oprah-Michelle work.

I doubt that Princess Michelle has any idea how much of an elitist prima donna she is. No one with even a sliver of self-awareness would say what she says routinely.

I wonder; is she still proud of her country? You know, the pride that only came about after her hubby made the cut?

This is a terrible 1st lady to be representing our country. She is perpetually angry, self-centered, arrogant, thoroughly disingenuous, and oblivious to the whole thing.

Amazingly, Michelle Obama’s comments weren’t even the stupidest Olympics-related statements made by a government-connected individual yesterday.

The title for that, in my opinion, would go to the Tokyo governor Shintaro Ishihara:

“It could be that the 2016 Games are the last Olympics in the history of mankind,” Ishihara told reporters at a Tokyo 2016 press event ahead of the vote. “Global warming is getting worse. We have to come up with measures without which Olympic Games could not last long.

    • janis

And I’m thinking “global warming” would be the kindest phrase for “nuclear devastation on a catastrophic scale.” Ishihara is just another in a very long chorus line of really stupid “leaders” currently taking up space and sucking up resources to no good end.

If I had known that global warming meant the end of the Olympics then I would have been a supporter of the Kyoto treaty and cap and trade long ago.

Most Olympic athletes are not at risk for childhood obesity.

It’s only a matter of time, you know.

Olympic event if Chicago wins the gig. The “Synchronized Preening” competition. Hard to say which one of those will get the gold.

but most of the funds for school athletics can’t dry up since they no longer exist. Surely you understand that it’s far more important to pay an assistant elementary school vice principal of a 200 student rural school $120,000 a year with 12 weeks of vacation.

Parents are scraping to fund these sports programs themselves through their own fund raising. Public educators must be awfully frustrated knowing they can’t get their hands on that too.

are what Michelle and Barack are trying to secure. Can you imagine 17-21 days of TV coverage? That’s exactly what they are salivating over.

And going to Copenhagen is a sacrifice? Don’t even get me started…

  • gobnait

Wonder when they will change the name of Mt. Rushmore to Mt. Obamus, blast off Abe Lincoln and replace it with his ‘big, giant head’?!

  • WarEagle01

Because the beer in Denmark is about the most expensive in the world. That would suck.

  • kowalski

I mean, after all, Chicago refused to host the GOP convention but now it has a full-court press to host the Olympics that include the President, the First Lady, and Oprah Winfrey.

But let’s not be cynical, OK?

We shouldn’t try to portray this as a naked money-grab by the city…

    Oh, jeez.

Listen, Chicago is going to get the Games, that’s my prediction. My advice as a Capitalist is to sign up as a vendor and be prepared to make lots of money. If they’re willing to put on this much of a show to get them, they’ll go whole-hog to make sure people can sell things during the Games.

In other words, lemonade from lemons, people. Chicago getting the Olympics is a fait accompli. I have that on no credible sources other than my gut feeling.

    • kowalski

If they’re successful, I know it might not be a money maker for the City but there’s a big chance it can be a money maker for individuals. In that sense it’s just like any other Olympics and the whole thing about making money for the City will boil down to how big the fees are to become a licensed vendor for the Olympics. My guess is that to cover the total they will be very high, but let’s see.

Probably the best job you could have in Chicago during the upcoming Olympics is to be a cab driver to/from O’Hare Airport, or a restaurateur or hotel/motel operator and rental car dealer in the areas just adjacent to O’Hare. Those guys are going to make a KILLING while the Olympics is in town. The parking garage people are going to become richer than sin, also. Anyone who has 100 square feet of spare land to put a few cars could get really wealthy.

“Under the agreement, affordable housing has been upped to 30 percent. Ten percent of construction hours will be set aside for local apprentices. And Chicago 2016 says that it will negotiate in good faith with unions representing service workers.”

        http://www.progressillinois.com/2009/3/27/koco-plans-ioc-protest

“The Collaborative is working with CEO 2016 to make sure that community residents have a real voice in the process of planning for the Games. CEO 2016 is working to win a Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) that ensures equitable policies around affordable housing, jobs and economic development, and transportation.”

    • Achance

Sign up as the guy who gets to decide who can be a vendor and gets a piece of the action off each vendor; it’s the Chicago way.

  • kowalski

Let’s not forget the restaurants (of almost every conceivable nationality in Chicago), the bars, strip clubs and the “business of the night” — because *all* of those industries in Chicago will get a **huge** boost while the Olympics is in town. Police officers will get paid to make sure those businesses run smoothly, with nobody getting hurt, and nobody showing up in the newspapers.

Restaurants and bars will do very very well. In fact, what’s going to happen when Chicago gets the Olympics is that anyone who owns real estate in the City that they’re currently not using will be able (at long last) to rent it for a time at a highly elevated price.

In other words, folks: I think Chicago is going to get the Olympics because Daley, et. al., can make the case to the IOC that their capacity for fun and all kinds of enjoyment are currently underutilized and can easily expand to accomodate the Olympic Throng. It might be hellish for the people who live there already, but that’s why Michelle and Oprah are talking about “sacrifice” right now.

Anyone want to bet against me?

    • http://www.theminorityreportblog.com/blog/loren_heal Socrates

Obama is highly connected to the real estate development cartel in Chicago. It’s an ACORN thing.

So somebody will have to build the Olympic this and that, won’t they.

  • Patricia_C

    She also stated:

“As first lady, as many of you know, I?ve made it a priority to bridge the gap between the White House and communities across D.C. and across the country,” adding,,. “I?ve spent much of my first nine months trying to open the doors to the White House to kids who might not otherwise see themselves having access to these institutions, because that?s where I came from ? communities like that where kids never dreamed that they could set foot in the White House, let alone live there?”

Of course, that bus load of kids from Stafford County, Virginia might have a different take on that… You remember them, the sobbing kindergarteners she and her hubby turned away from the White House because they were ten minutes late and the Obamas didn’t want to “sacrifice” any schmooze time with the Steelers?… Yeah… Then again, the kiddies from Virginia didn’t come from where she came from.

Then she prattles further by saying she and Barack have, “made a point of doing the same thing when we lived in Chicago ? making the concerns of kids in all sorts of communities our own.”… I guess the “concerns” of the 12-year old child who was mauled by a pit bull and turned away from University of Chicago Medical Center due to a new patient dumping program instituted by Michelle while she was the VP of that institution or the kids mother, who had to drive the child to another hospital an hour away for needed surgery weren’t sufficient enough to make them their own.

turning those under priviledged kids back into the defunct public schools. All for the cause of supporting the teachers union. Sounds like compassion to me.

    Their scam requires ‘martyrdom’.

Mr. and Mrs Obama were weaned on mechanisms for manipulating the system to achieve a desired or perverted end.

Who, with even a tiny bit sanity, would believe that a ‘parking ticket scofflaw’ could be the first black president (currently disputed)!?

43 U.S. Troops have died in Afghanistan since Gen. McChrystal asked your husband for reinforcements, but he’s too busy trying to figure out how to fill the bank accounts of his ‘Chicago homies’ with the 2016 Olympics, and ram unwanted health-care reform down the throats of the people who put him and YOU in the White House, to worry about sending support to our troops. – Over 500 families lost their homes in Grove Parc because of the actions, or should I say inaction, of your close friend Valerie Jarrett, the slumlord queen. – 16-year-old Derrion Albert was beaten to death by a gang of Chicago thugs pumped full of the “entitlement mentality” by groups such as ACORN, simply because Derrion chose to better himself and family the old-fashioned way, by getting an education and EARNING what he received. So please, tell us again Mrs. Obama about the “sacrifices” you, your husband and one of the richest women in the world made by flying to Denmark on the American taxpayers dime?

    • gailmarie

Please explain why Americans are losing jobs and suffering having a hard time feeding the kids and you and Oprah and Hubby find it so important to spend hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars doing Chicago?s bidding??? Get real and starts packing your days are numbered. Oprah get a life you have enough of your own money leave mine alone.
